When I first got the veneers they were sent back to the lab because they were transparent at the bottoms. When I got them back the second time I expressed concern that these second set didn't match the color of my real teeth and were actually more yellow. Dr. Beall said he agreed and went into the other room to contact the lab to let them know. When he came back he said I would have to pay an additional $500 for a new set of veneers because 'the lab can't just keep making new ones for free'. Mind you both times were the labs mistake. I told him I absolutely wouldn't pay for new ones as they were now done incorrectly twice. He said he agreed they didn't match in color but there was nothing he could do, it was the lab. Right. There was no budge on this. It was pay or stick with the veneers the Dr. agreed didn't match but stated he could do nothing about unless I paid more (for the labs mistake). I didn't. I went back 2 weeks later and asked him to look again because I really thought they were so noticeably yellow compared to my real teeth it was embarrassing and a lot for the veneers for me to dislike so much. This time was blamed on 'maybe you drank too much coffee or soda because that can cause the veneers to darken.' Um, after 2 weeks...no. Months later my front tooth fractured while doing absolutely nothing. I went in and it was blamed on me. Months later again my other front tooth fractured at the bottom in the exact same place. Same response. They wouldn't replace them at all saying I needed to pay. My teeth to this day slowly chip off, feeling like sand paper particles in my mouth. I ended up going to another reputable dentist and she could not believe the fractures in my teeth after such a short period and the fact the dentist didn't offer to replace them knowing they were not correct when placing them on the first time and wanting more money. She stated Not only were my veneers a different color than my teeth but my bite had clearly not been adjusted beforehand which should always done which is why my front teeth sat sideways. She said veneers should never fracture the way they did in such a way which clearly showed the type of quality and lab that was used when making the veneers. The dentist also claimed that in her 20+ years she has never heard of a dentist act so unprofessional knowing the work was not done correctly and asking me to pay more when a lab would easily correct the discolored veneer. She said when you pay, the lab will make veneers until they are correct. It's their job. Bottom line. She even offered to file a formal complaint to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). I declined because I'm to nice. Fast forward some years later and my two front teeth are so fractured in the same place it looks like I have been hit in the mouth causing my teeth to chip. I now have to pay thousands more to have them replaced. I don't even want to hear a peep from Kim because she was a spitting image of Dr. Beall's unprofessional and out of line behavior during this whole situation. Her response alone to another clients review speaks volumes. Stay away.

Seriously, I had the urge to get up and leave, which is a first, but I didn't want to be rude so I stayed. He is nice and friendly, but he was not listening to me!!! I was trying to tell him my basic teeth concerns/issues/dental history but then he started correcting me. Lol ok. Kept cutting me off, talking AT me, asking questions but not waiting for my answer. I found him to be incredibly abrasive and I wish we could have slowed down and established basics before getting to all the chit chat and joke cracking. The purpose of my visit, my most pressing issue, was to address a few minor chips on my front teeth. I expected he'd examine the chips and my bite/alignment, then set me up for a "composite bonding" which is a common procedure. (I would have had this simple and straightforward treatment done by my previous dentist but unfortunately I moved and am new to the DFW area and looking for care!) Dr Loftus let me know the reason for the chipping is the way my teeth grind, or line up when I'm unconscious of it. Totally makes sense, that sounds right. But let's get to the solution, please can we talk about fixing the chips now? No. He said I'll need braces because otherwise "it will keep happening" even after filling in the chips. Is it possible I might chip my teeth in these same spots again in the future, due to the underlying cause of the chips in the first place? Sure. That's possible, but a reasonable dentist would just fix the chips as requested instead of referring me for orthodontial work! I pumped the breaks and said that's way too drastic, I'm not getting braces, I've already had them as a teenager, and I'll cross that bridge IF and when I get there. (No to be honest I am never getting braces again haha I have nice straight teeth. A night guard is one thing but getting braces due to a chipped front tooth? Whaaaaat?!) Loftus backed off the braces idea and we got back on the same page and I made it clear I wanted to just do the composite filling. He agreed to it! Next thing you know I'm getting walked up to the receptionist and she scheduled my appt 6 months out for a cleaning. Wait. What? Aren't we going to schedule the composite bonding? Which is why I came? I was confused, so a couple days later I reached out to their office via email "please let me know when you can fit me in for the follow up, I was scheduled for a cleaning but not for the composite bonding and I'd like to do that at Dr Loftus' soonest availablity" NEVER HEARD BACK. Wowwww I definitely fell through the cracks as far as follow up care goes. Just frustrating. I went in for a specific need and he failed to address it. I'll have to take my business elsewhere and get the composite bonding done by another dentist who is more attentive and wants the business. That's fine. Finally... and this is important... You'll be startled by the rude attitude from the receptionist. Both over the phone and when I met her in real life, her negativity was palpable. Her deep insecurity is masked by a cold, condescending, rigid exterior. (I'm referring to the young lady with dark blonde hair. She runs the front desk at the time of this review at least) Work on your soft skills! You will turn people away when you use such a condescending tone.

I have never met Dr. Shaw, but I have only heard good things about him as well. I have many phobias. The most uncommon phobia of mine would probably be the fear of pedicures. Two of my more common phobias, which you may have as well, are that of dentist work and needles. I called to schedule an appointment as a new patient because of some pain I was having and got a spot about 4 weeks later. However, less than a week after that call, they found an earlier appointment for me, so I ended up being seen less than a week after the appointment request. The office is very inviting. Everything appears to be very well organized and professional. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly, and have been in a good mood every time I have been in. The whole place is decorated with warm and inviting autumn colors. Very relaxing. The hygienist was very friendly and professional. They were all in a good mood as well. Despite the fact that I hadn't been to the dentist in over 5 years, I was very comfortable the whole time. The chairs have massage pad things and there is a TV with beach scenes, or an aquarium, or something similar. After the cleaning and x-rays Dr. Sherrill came in. He was very professional. He is soft spoken and friendly, yet not so friendly that he wastes your time. They are very efficient and really don't waste time in your day. I had to go back twice to fill cavities. For such procedures, you're offered many comforts: sound proof headphones with satellite radio (or you can plug in your iPod as I did), massaging chair, and nitrous oxide a.k.a. the gas. The assistant is very friendly and remembered me the second time. The first time I didn't opt for the gas. The second time I did. While the second was obviously much better (how can you not love the gas?), the first certainly was not a bad experience even with my phobias. Both times they were very quick and efficient, yet took the time to ask me if I was okay and make sure I was still comfortable. The first time when I wasn't zonked by the gas, he was talking about what he was doing the whole time, which was very comforting. My hubby who is not afraid of dentists or needles went in for one single filling and didn't even notice when Dr. Sherrill stuck the needle in. I would absolutely not recommend this dental office I had been coming to this office for over 20 years back when Dr. Shaw was my dentist but when he retired it's a place I wouldn't recommend. I called to reschedule my appointment 24 hours in advance they said I would be charged 85.00 because it required a 48 hour notice. I didn't realize I had signed saying I knew about this I thought I had signed for the financial responsibility for that particular service I got that day (that's my fault) but after being a patient for over 20 years I believe I shouldn't pay that when I only wanted to reschedule due to an emergency. But anyway the office is no longer a place I want to go. I chose another Dallas dentist. Dr. Shaw I really missed the type of practice you ran. Earlier this year I received a crown and experienced significant pain and multiple rounds of…read moreanesthetic. Within days, I was experiencing significant discomfort. A second opinion from another provider confirmed that the crown had been placed incorrectly and would need to be completely redone. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for corrective care, including a new crown and additional treatment. What made this experience even worse was the dentist's behavior during the procedure. While working on my teeth, he repeatedly changed the music mid-treatment, checked stock prices on his computer, and at one point was shopping for a new dental chair on eBay. This was all happening while I was in the chair receiving care. In addition, he performed all parts of the visit himself--including the X-rays, cleaning, and crown work--with no hygienist present. Not only is this a red flag in terms of practice standards, but it also led to a rushed, chaotic, and impersonal experience that clearly compromised the quality of care. When I reached out to request reimbursement for the failed dental work, I was met with a dismissive and hostile email. Rather than take any accountability, He refused to engage in a professional resolution and instead told me I should "take it up with the dental board." The level of care and professionalism I received was entirely unacceptable. I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the state dental board. I strongly urge others to think twice before seeking treatment at this office. Dental work requires trust, skill, and focus--none of which I received here.
