I met with Dr. Patel. He's a ton of fun and the office staff are the bomb dot com! I had anesthesia without topical, by choice and it was mui excellente! I had not eaten today and they gave me time to go eat and return to get my work done. The office is beautiful! Treatment plan: He was focused on the overall health of my teeth and the needs to get my teeth in shape. He showed and educated me on the right path with plenty of time to ask questions and understand why the treatment was necessary. I NEVER felt like I was being sold extra work for their financial gain. TRUSTING your dentist is huge and I trust their judgement. I took my mom to the Ideal Dental on Midway and Northwest Highway today, and it was one frustrating experience after another. The lobby was extremely hot while we waited. They took my mom back for X-rays and told us they would come get me afterward, but they forgot until my mom reminded them. Then we found out their regular X-ray machine wasn't working, so they had to take the X-rays manually while she was sitting in the dental chair. After the dentist examined my mom, she told us my mom could keep her crown and that they would remove the temporary filling and place a permanent composite filling that same day. I specifically asked if they could do it that day, and the dentist said yes. She and her assistant left, and we waited...and waited. Eventually, a technician came in to discuss antibiotics and confirmed they were still going to do the composite filling. She said she would get the dentist. We waited even longer. Then another staff member walked by and told us we were free to leave. I explained that we had been told my mom would be getting her permanent filling that day, so we continued waiting. A short time later, the office manager came in and asked if we wanted to schedule an appointment for Monday because they could not do the filling that day. I explained that the dentist had specifically told us it would be done today. The office manager responded that the dentist doesn't manage the schedule--she does--and that there was no availability. My question was simple: if that was the case, why were we told to wait? What disappointed me the most wasn't that they couldn't fit us in--it was the complete lack of communication and accountability. At no point did the office manager apologize for the confusion, the miscommunication, or for keeping us waiting. Instead, she repeatedly talked over me and simply offered us an appointment for Monday. My mom decided we'd rather go somewhere else, and the response was basically, "You have every right to." Unfortunately, this isn't our first disappointing experience with Ideal Dental. We've received different information from different locations, and I was even sold a dental plan that I haven't been able to use, which has been a waste of money. This experience only reinforced why we choose a private dental practice: clear communication, accountability, and respect for our time. We'll be going back to the dentist we've trusted for years, and I would strongly recommend choosing a private practice over Ideal Dental. If you're considering going here as a new patient, PLEASE do yourself a favor and find ANYWHERE else! DO NOT GO HERE. My entire life I've been meticulous about my oral hygiene and going to the dentist every 6 months. I've never had a cavity or any other issues with my teeth. I decided to come here because it was close to my house and made it easy enough to sign up as a new patient. The first time I went, they insisted on taking X-rays even though I said I didn't want them because I had just gotten them done 6 months prior (at another Ideal Dental location). They kept insisting, saying it was "necessary to get X-rays every 6 months because your teeth can shift", which EVERY other dentist I've ever been to has said once a year the standard. They took them anyway, and I got a charge from my insurance a few weeks later because they don't cover multiple X-rays a year (shocker). The second time I went 6 months later, I ran into the same issue of them insisting to take X-rays. Then, even though I had 0 cavities in the previous appointment, they told me I had 7 cavities (yes, SEVEN) and pressured me to get them filled right away. I was in shock, trying to figure out how it was possible to develop 7 cavities within 6 months after never having them before. They showed me pictures of my "cavities" and tried to pressure me into getting them filled right away, which I declined. Today I made the drive to my fiancés family dentist to get a second opinion from a highly referred, trusted dentist. He did a full inspection of my teeth and said I didn't have one single cavity, and that my teeth are in fantastic condition. He also showed me pictures of my teeth, and said that the spots that the Ideal Dental insisted were "cavities" were actually dark stains that are very common, develop over time, and are NOT. CAVITIES. I almost had 7 teeth drilled over the incompetence of this practice and have spent the past few months stressed over the thought of my oral health declining so rapidly. Went and got a second opinion obviously and they are recommending that I fix 1 old fill. Just didn't seem right I'm so glad a got a second opinion!! Don't go there!! The front lady Hilda is soooo rude. She doesn't know how to talk to customers. She's arrogant and insulting. My partner came home once from Ideal and started telling me about some rude lady. When I went to Ideal a couple weeks later, I was able to tell real quick who she was talking about. If you check google reviews, you'll see several complaints about her. I called corporate trying to get her fired, but she's still there. If you decided to give this company your business. I would give them 0 star if I could On 5/9/2019 I went to Ideal Dental of Midway Crossing for some cosmetic work on my teeth. I inquired about their advertised teeth whitening and my consultant told me I needed to install Veneers on my upper Central Incisors, upper Lateral incisors and upper canines. (6 teeth) Trusting their professional directives, I paid then in full in advance for the procedure. Dr Amber James conducted the procedure. Two weeks later one of my canine veneers fell off out of nowhere onto the ground. I then went back to Ideal Dental and they re-cemented my veneer. They added, "It is very normal for veneers to fall off and if you don't want any more issues you should get crowns on your upper Canines instead of veneers." Not able to afford their new egregious charges for their new recommendation i waited till I had the money however in the meantime my veneers all kept falling out of my mouth. It got to the point where I was losing 2 veneers a week and making multiple trips to keep re-cementing the veneers over and over again. On one visit they broke one veneer trying to put it back in and they charged me for the one they broke. I once again asked them how is this possible that your veneers keep falling out every week; this cannot be right. They said your only solution was to pay for an even more expensive solution of crowns. Being told I had no other options I paid Ideal Dental for new crowns on my two canines. The other 4 veneers continued to fall shortly after. Dr Diala Chahine told me to try not to chew or bite hard which I told her biting is not the issue and bad dental work was the issue. In conclusion I went to Ideal Dental of Midway Crossing at least over 2 times on and off a week for over 2 years trying to correct their bad work. The last time I went there they broke my crown while cementing it and they asked me to pay for it again. Fed up I left without a tooth. I was not able to work and sat home for a month and a half looking for a qualified dentist to fix Ideal Dental's malpractice dental work. After telling me I needed to have multiple procedures right away...they called to verify my insurance and tell me EXACTLY what I had to pay. All good right? WRONG! I'm use to going to the same dentist office for years knowing the staff and they know me as well. However here the turnover rate is ridiculous high. Many staff seem entry level and they're not on one accord. Not once Ive not felt some sort of negative/confusion energy by staff. Just last week I visited for Zoom whitening. Specifically asked the starting price of this procedure before scheduling. A staff member informed me "it's a free service for new patients. Day of my appointment the office manager informed me that the information was incorrect. Heather the office manager allowed the treatment of Zoom at no cost but didn't tell me they were only giving me partial treatment. I had zoom I performed at least 10 years prior.. I recalled it took at least 45 minutes. At ideal image they performed two 8 minute sessions which seemed a waste of the torture and chemicals. At least they could've been honest and gave me the option of a full treatment. I would've considered paying the difference of s full treatment. They gave me the impression it's the full zoom treatment. I'm done with Ideal. Also today my retainer cracked in half First retainer from this place and at least 2-3 retainers within the last 15 years not once have I experience a retainer cracking while removing from my mouth. Also Dr.James bedside manner is horrible as if she's superior than her patients per my opinion. read more

I have been a patient at Midway Crossing since it opened years back. They have always been fair. However, the pandemic has created a situation that I do not feel is fair and want to be sure and tell others. They offer a "MetroCare Insurance Plan" for your teeth which is similar to a company's basic plan. This plan affords you 2 cleanings a year. However, due to no fault of theirs or mine, my cleaning would have happened during the pandemics lock down. Out of an abundance of caution then and still today I try to minimize any exposure to Covid-19. However, needing a cleaning, I reached out to the office and found that my plan that I paid $129 for two cleanings expired and I would need to 'repay' the premium. What left me with a bad experience is the fact that the 2nd cleaning in my plan which I prepaid for expired...and with the pandemic...I feel this loss was not fair. I was offered not offered any make up cleaning to make up for the loss...only that I would have to pre pay again. I feel with the pandemic...things should be handled with a bit more finesse and understanding. Some consideration to options could have been offered to make a challenging situation bettter. It seems they are interested in only the bottom line. Having been a customer of 'Midway Crossing Dental' from the beginning, I'm sorry to see their customer service getting less and less with each visit. This recent experience sealed it for me...it's time to find a new dentist that sees its customers and people and not just numbers and a bottom line. read more

Wow. So, today, I went to Midway Crossing Dental for a cleaning. In the process, Dr. Jekyll suggested that I have two fillings repaired, and three cavities addressed. I was not aware that I had any cavities, however, I agreed that the fillings needed to be addressed, so I went along with her suggestion to have everything done immediately. Enter Mr. Hyde... I am going to cut to the chase, and say that Dr. Jekyll's dental hygienist had the bedside manner of a Lawrence Taylor zeroing in on Joe Theismann for a career-ending sack. She literally had the tact of a bull in a china shop. She probably has that idiom imprinted throughout her DNA strands. She was slamming doors as she was prepping for the procedure. I am sitting in front of her as this is going on, wondering, "What the ****...I hope she gets that **** out of her system before she gets in My Mouth." Sadly, this would not end up being the case. After local anesthesia was applied, Dr. Jekyll applied additional anesthesia to my inner cheek with what I believe was a needle. As she is doing so, Lawrence Taylor, her dental hygienist, all of the sudden, in a completely unannounced manner, begins to rapidly tap me on the shoulder with both hands, repeatedly. It was like someone was smothering her with a pillow, and she desperately needed to breathe. I didn't know whether she was convulsing, or if she wanted my attention, so my natural response was to loudly exclaim, "Huh?" I legitimately did not know what she wanted or what she was doing. I suppose what she was doing was a diversionary technique for the needle, the pain, etc? Whatever the case may be, it was very awkward, and very much so over the top. It gets better, right? Wrong... Next, as Dr. Jekyll began addressing the fillings and phantom cavities, Lawrence Taylor was literally using both hands to force my face shut, force my face open, force this, force that, swim move, wrap up, and drive my face into the ground. I know it sounds funny, but, I honestly felt as if I was being violated. Seriously. At one point, Dr. Jekyll placed the suction catheter in my mouth, at which point they want you to purse your lips, you know? I was still in awe of Lawrence Taylor's relentless pursuit of contact that I may not have pursed my lips immediately. Before I knew it, Lawrence Taylor had her fucking fingers on my lips, pinching me, forcing me to purse. Yes, this happened. At this point, I was starting to get to the point where I wanted to fight...I mean, bite. She then says, "You're closing on us, here, let me help you," and then commences to placing one hand on my upper teeth, and one hand on my bottom teeth, using her upper body strength to force me to open my mouth further. At this point, I told her to take it easy, because I was not at ease with her Super Bowl flashbacks, including, but not limited to Grabbing The Face, Roughing The Patient, etc. - she was just rough, spastic, and careless. I gave them $350.00. That covered the two fillings, three phantom cavities, and the safe assumption that I would never see Dr. Jekyll again, because she chooses to employ a psychopathic linebacker as her dental hygienist. In my opinion, it is the doctor's responsibility to do her due diligence, and ensure that her assistants are capable of conducting themselves in a professional manner that best benefits the patients. Unfortunately, this isn't what took place. Only a fool twice pays for an asswhipping - I will not be going back, nor would I recommend this kind of experience to anyone. read more

UPDATED: 2-9-16 - Down to one star. I wish I'd read the reviews here prior to coming. It gets two stars because the environment itself is really quite nice - it reminded me of FLOSS. I would have gone back to FLOSS, but my new insurance didn't have them as part of their network. And the people are seemingly very nice and easy to work with. But I digress. UPDATE - I have an HMO insurance and upon requesting a referral for an endodontist they were NOT easy to work with. Strike one - the office staff had run out of new patient paper work copies. Rather than print out a new one from whatever word doc had been used to create it, they used white-out to cover up another patient's and made a photocopy of that for me to use. Yes. Really. Strike two - l expressed to the dentist that I was having a great deal of sensitivity with the "stump" that was left that the crown would attach to. The assistant was getting all of the molds/casts setup. She said I was still numb, and shouldn't have felt these things. She tells the dentist, whose response is, "Well, I didn't think I got that close to the nerve." Strike three - upon returning to attach the permanent crown, I expressed I had experienced constant sensitivity to the temp crown with heat/cold and pressure. Again I was told, "I'm pretty sure I didn't get that close to the nerve." So then the assistant goes to remove the temporary crown. The first attempt I nearly jumped out of the chair. So they gave me some anesthetic. She goes back to try again. I again nearly jumped out of the chair. I get more anesthetic. She goes again, and finally, she's able to at least touch it to attempt to get it removed. Only she couldn't remove it. The dentist had to come in and inspect and eventually cut it off with saw/drill to remove it. At one point, the assistant actually said, "What adhesive did I use on this thing for it to be so strong??" What?? You don't even know what you used? Seriously?? So now I'm left with a crown that is STILL extremely sensitive to both heat and cold. But worse, pressure. I remember the dentist even saying, "If you still have sensitivity after a couple weeks, we're going to have to do the root canal anyway." I'm currently looking for an endodontist to make sure this problem is fixed properly. UPDATE - Finally got the referral worked out and went to see North Dallas Endodontics. See my review for them. After a two year hiatus from my last dentist appointment, I decided to go here to see Dr. Hatcher, and what a difference! it was the best decision I've made recently. Not only is Dr. Hatcher inviting and warm, she is professional and very knowledgeable about her craft. This dentist location has horrible practice procedures. They have a high turnover rate and they don't notify you that your provider no longer works there. I came during the summer to have my final crown put on and it was a completely new doctor from 3 weeks prior. Dr. Diala Chahine clearly JUST graduated from school. She tugged on my mouth for over 40 minutes trying to get the crown to fit before saying she needed to get a new impression and order a new crown. When I came back for the new crown, guess what.... it was another new dentist, a young gentleman and he finished the crown. Fast forward 6 months (12/23/19) and I come in for a cleaning to ensure I don't "void" the warranty on the crown. I start by declining all treatment other than the cleaning. The MA states that in order to have a cleaning you HAVE TO HAVE AN EXAM. Dr. Diala comes in and states everything was okay, then began to try to pitch braces and an implant. Again, I decline all services and tell them I'm switching practices for treatment beyond the cleaning. The cleaning starts and I feel the metal pulling a filling or my tooth was chipped. The technician can feel it as well, but she continues like nothing happened. She then flosses and can feel the floss stuck and pulls the floss through since it won't come down. I had to ask, is there a problem?... I feel like something is coming out. She takes an x-ray and then goes to get Dr. Diala. They all try to convince me that my tooth was fractured prior to coming in, although she just checked and everything was fine 10 minutes ago. Also, they have been treating me for over a year and it's not documented on past x-rays! I have been in almost every 3-4 months. They acted as though it was an emergency and they needed to fix the tooth so it wouldn't cause further damage. I decline as I have continued to receive poor quality of work. I called another doctor to schedule the repair (12/27/19) and Midway Crossing had billed for and exam, cleaning and x-ray - making me have to come back to them for the repair. I spoke with their office manager BRANDY, who also lacks customer service. She tried to state my insurance would start over January and I said my plan just started Sept. 1st. Brandy says "ohhhh". She kept her voice raised and telling me to go 30 minutes away to their Addison location if I didn't like the work being provided. I declined and advised I'm within 5 minutes of their location, driving 30 minutes is yet another inconvenience. She then puts me on hold (over 30 minutes) without booking an appointment. I guess she expected me to hang up without a resolution. Brandy finally comes back to the phone and says she thinks it's best if I find a new doctor! I told her I was about to call corporate and she hung up in my face! Also, they over charge for services. I have had 2 crowns with them and each time they made me pay $360 and I had to call repeatedly and wait months for $190 CREDIT EACH TIME! She was very calming and so knowledgeable when it came to any question or concern I had. From start to finish she delivered the best possible care I could of wished for. If possible to give zero rating I would. These people do not stand behind their work. They put a crown on one of my teeth less than 2 yrs ago. The crown has broken in half recently which they do not want to fix without charging again. Their excuse was for one 6 month visit I went to a different dentist for 1 cleaning which voided their warranty. The reason I went to a different dentist was everytime I go for a cleaning they constantly badger you to death trying to upsell on other services. I went to IDEAL Dental and they provided effective and timely service!! I highly recommend them! I was at another Dentist in the area and it would not work with me on a reasonable payment plan . IDEAL Dental did the work I needed and arranged a very reasonable payment plan for me . The Dentist, Dials Chahine, DMD was very professional and kind!! The Office Manager, Tiera was very cheerful and helpful and helped me apply for Care Credit which provides payments up front to the dentist and then I pay Care Credit a reasonable monthly payment that is not charged ANY interest for 12 months!! Staff at the front is very friendly. Esther did a very good job when she did my dental cleaning. I have very sensitive gums, so she made sure to numb my gums in order to clean my teeth. My teeth feel so clean! I can definitely feel the difference. I am very pleased with her. I was able to get FREE cosmetic whitening. Esther made sure to communicate to Reggie about my sensitive gums. I have VERY sensitive teeth. And I'm very particular about my dentists. I was not looking forward to having to find a new dentist when I moved to Dallas and I feel very fortunate to have found Dr Diala. She is so gentle and was very, very careful with my sensitive teeth. Her warm personality put me at ease and I never felt like she was trying to push anything on me like I've felt in the past with other dentists. This dentist is OK... You get the basic or expected dental treatment and that's pretty decent. The business operations and management is what is a but sketchy. Ok very sketchy. I received an estimate for some work and it was what it was, but then they billed my insurance about 5X (yes FIVE TIMES) that amount. They told me I had pretty good insurance (which means they get paid more). They ran some applications that we didn't approve and that particular manager was fired. But still, a bad taste in my mouth...no pun intended. Smile. read more

This dental office is very bad. The worst I have ever been to. I don't know where to start. These are the things I hated the most: 1. They don't care about you or whatever you ACTUALLY need to get done. They will FORCE you into their treatment even if it is unnecessary. They told me I needed 3 crowns!!! Insane! I got my treatment elsewhere, only one crown and 2 little fillings. they wanted to put overprices crowns on the teeth with tiny cavities! 2. They will push you make an appointment like there is no tomorrow. they wouldn't listen. I kept telling them I didn't want to make anymore appts with them, because they were the worst, but the receptionist kept pushing and pushing without listening. 6 months after this I got an call asking to update my insurance info for my appointment, that I NEVER SCHEDULED MYSELF!!! I have been coming to this office for over a year now along with my six-year-old son and husband. The front office staff is courteous and timely. We are usually seen right away upon entering and treated right away. I feel confident in this dentist and her staff. The only treatment she has recommended thus far was a filling replacement which required no shots nor did it hurt at all. It seriously too her about 5 minutes to perform. We wanted to find a new dentist closer to north Dallas and south of LBJ. The location of Midway Crossing is ideal at Northwest Highway and Midway. The facility is new and clean with the latest equipment. We love the dentist, Dr. Minor! We will be going back.
