It was a brand new watch and 4 other jewelers pit deep scratches in my Swiss diver watch. Made my watch lose a good deal of value with no success. Ben Bridges Jewelers has an expert watch specialist that got the back off in seconds, replaced and put back onto watch in a few minutes. One of these others stores took the pin out and they wanted $20 for a pin plus $25 for a battery, yet they were unable to remove back. BenBridges chatted me $15.99 for replacing the battery in seconds, gave me a free pin and set all the dials. I come here for servicing of our Swiss watches and for jewelry fixes. For batteries and pressure testing they have the equipment on site. We both have Tag Heuer watches and they need the occasional battery once in a while about every 2 years. So I come here. Recently I bought a high end watch to flip on EBAY and while I was having fun wearing it till it sold, I woke up and reached for my glasses I thought fell behind the bed and rubbed up against a textured tile - crap the stainless bezel got scratched. I need to repair it to sell it. I acquired a Limited Edition 018/100 Hublot and looking at the scratches their service guy Andy said he has to send it out. A screw for the clasp came out too holding the rubber band. They could have handled the screw or a battery, pretty standard for them, but this needs a buffing on the bezel. So out he goes to a repair center. I trust them here. They repaired my wife's Omega necklace which was constantly slipping off her neck She has different slides she wears on it.They shipped it out and it a few weeks later, it came back perfect with an added safety ball clasp. They sell Breitling, Rolex and Tag Heuer but don't think they are just super high end they also sell Jewelry under $1,000. read more

About 2 months ago, I came into Ben Bridge to check out the different models of Rolex watches that might be available for purchase. I had done some prior research (on-line) as to the style and availability of particular Rolex models that appealed to me. (This was going to be my first purchase of a high-end luxury watch.) On my first visit to the store, a salesperson by the name of Josh introduced himself and offered to help me try on some of the display Rolex watches that interested me. It was a great experience right from the start - trying on a number of the sought after "sports models" that I had seen pictures of on-line. (I had already learned that many of the Rolex models I really liked were hard to get from any authorized dealer. You put your name on a list and could have a pretty substantial wait to purchase the watch of your choice.) That first visit was fun and educational for me. Josh gave great information and suggestions as to which Rolex models might fit my needs and personal lifestyle. I didn't fell any pressure - only helpful and friendly advice. I gave my information to Josh regarding the Rolex models that were my top choices and figured I would be in for a a substantial wait before I would have an opportunity to purchase any of the sought-after Rolex sports models. Over the next few months, I visited the store about every 2 weeks - checking in with Josh and trying on a few more watches. I was always treated with courtesy and patience (for my many questions) - I felt like a welcomed customer even though I had no prior buying experience with the store. On a few of my visits Josh was off for that day, and I was helped by another salesperson. I received the same level of professional courtesy and service I had received when Josh was helping me. I also got to talk with the store manager (Brenda) on one occasion and after that she remembered my name on subsequent visits to the store. On a recent visit (about 10 days ago), I saw a watch (Rolex) in the case that caught my eye. It was a Rolex Datejust 41 with a fluted bezel and a beautiful blue dial. I tried it on and thought this was a model that could be both a sports and a dress watch at the same time. Josh asked me if I would be interested in buying this particular model if one came into the store in the near future and I said I absolutely would - not really thinking that the future opportunity to get this watch would be all that near. Josh said he would try his best to make this happen and I might hear from him in just a few days (possibly the following Monday). Monday came and you know, to my pleasant surprise and pleasure, I got the call from Josh that the exact watch we had been discussing the prior week was available for me to buy if I was interested. I said I absolutely was and came down to the store that afternoon and purchased my first Rolex watch from any authorized dealer. This was a watch that I thought would not be available to me except after a very long waiting period (particularly since I didn't have any prior purchasing history with the store). I won't go on about how great the watch is - it's a good, luxury watch and one I wanted. More important to me was my experience for those months leading up to actually buying the watch. I always felt good coming into the store - everyone was friendly, professional and ready with just the right amount of information. I felt like I was a welcomed customer and I hadn't even made a purchase yet. In particular, I always felt that Josh would be doing his best to look out for my interests. I'm glad I have a great watch to enjoy, But a watch, even an expensive one, is still just a watch. I will enjoy this watch even more because of how I came to get it. The watch is still beautiful, works like a charm and they are happy to polish it up and change the battery when needed - each time treating it like it's my newborn baby. This is pretty much the only place to get a wide variety of fine jewelery in Anchorage that isn't covered in gold nuggets (read: touristy). I know, I know--it is a chain. But don't let that deter you. The goods are there. As is the great customer service. I believe that Ben Bridge boasts to be the largest retailer of Rolex, but if you're looking for something out of the box, they have access to so much more. In their store, they'll have a huge collection of Rolex and a decent selection of Omegas and Tags. If you're looking for something a little more unique, just ask. Their database is huge and they can get their hands on just about anything you'd want. We've been loyal customers of Ben Bridge for years--it started off because we didn't have much of a choice in Anchorage, but even as we travel in the Lower 48, we tend to come back for that consistent great service. Don't forget to ask about their special events when you stop by. They have a diamond event every year and a used watch event (they have like-new condition Rolexes if you want to splurge, but not be broke). I've had awful customer service here twice. First time they resized my engagement ring and failed to tell me they were mailing it out for 10 days. At that same appointment they were incredibly pushy about my fiancée's type of wedding band he preferred and actually had the audacity to say, "well you won't find anything like what you're describing so you may as well just buy one of these here." I thought maybe this was a fluke, because Ben Bridge is a well known name right? Well a couple of months later I went in to get the battery replaced on my Tag Heuer watch and the same woman "helped" me, and said their watchmaker was on vacation for two weeks. I asked what I thought was a legit question, is he the only one who can replace watch batteries here? And she essentially berated me and said "if you allow anyone else to touch it you don't deserve to own a tag." My husband and I were searching for the perfect gift to give each other for our 10th anniversary. New to Alaska, Ben Bridge just happened to be our first stop. Michelle Hart listened to some of our ideas and suggested we upgrade the solitaire in my wedding band. Knowing that I'd be removing my main diamond, I asked about the possibility of putting it into my husband's wedding band. This wouldn't be easy and I was concerned that the diamond would appear somewhat feminine. Michelle assured me she had an amazing designer (Mark in Seattle) that could make our bands look amazing. Wanting to think it over, I spent the next week researching the web and local jewelers trying to find the best value. I thought there would be no way Ben Bridge would match online retailers or Costco. I called Michelle and told her that I had found better pricing and would probably purchase the diamond elsewhere. This is where her amazing customer service kicked in. We communicated through e-mail. She didn't push the sale and offered to still do the custom work needed on the bands. She did ask that I send her specific information on clarity, quality and pricing of the diamonds I was considering. After doing this she found some beautiful diamonds of the same quality, GIA certified and matched the pricing for me. I tried to get some good ideas for my husband's band from other reputable Anchorage area jewelers and found the design ideas to be old fashioned or gaudy. Michelle and Mark found a perfect solution for his ring and from that point clinched the sale. Since then she made sure to let me know what was happening with our rings while they were being worked on. My ring came back looking brand new and absolutely stunning. My husband's ring came back with upgraded gold and beautiful workmanship. We are absolutely thrilled with the end results. I needed a ring re-sized and I was quoted at $60 and then received a call that it would be $200. They wanted to do more than what I needed to my ring and would not re-size otherwise. The lady was also rude over the phone when I asked her to explain why it was more than what I was quoted at and short with me when I said I would like it back unchanged. I'm waiting for my ring back and hoping there are no more issues. read more

I have shopped everywhere including jewelry stores such as Tiffany's, but I can honestly say nowhere has impressed me as much as Ben Bridge. Every time I go in I am treated like royalty and the customer service is unparalleled. I started shopping with Ben Bridge 3 years ago when I bought my husband's rolex going there because apparently they are the only store in the state to sell high end watches. Recently my husband and I upgraded my diamond which is the main reason I am writing this review because we went to a couple other jewelry stores in Anchorage and I was appalled by the service we received! My husband wanted to shop around because he didn't like the prices of their stones when we went to look initially, but the poor quality and questionable ethics of the two other jewelers we went to drove us right back to Ben Bridge. I have been shopping with Michelle at Ben Bridge for years and she the most professional salesperson I have ever worked with! She brought in 4 different diamonds for me to look at and let me hand pick my stone. Even if Ben Bridge was more expensive than everywhere (which they're not) it's almost worth paying more for the service and expertise I am given, not to mention I know I am buying from an incredibly honest and ethical jeweler! I used to work for Ben Bridge many, many moons ago. So, my review is from the inside out. One thing I learned while there is that jewelery retailers have a 200% mark up. What I also learned is that most chain stores buy low quality items and sell it for higher amounts than it's worth. They also have these blow out sales where they give you a big 50% off and it's all B.S. That 50% discount you just got means you paid about what it's actually worth. Besides, the public is ignorant so what do you care as long as it's shiney? However, Ben Bridge doesn't believe in this type of sale. Leave that to Zales and other such chains. Ben Bridge NEVER has a sale. Why? Because they don't do that B.S. "mark up beyond all belief and then mark it back down because you're an idiot anyway - crap". For the mid level market they are the way to go - honest - and you get what you're paying for, not more, not less. Otherwise, I prefer to suport local businesses. But if you want to know if you're getting a good deal at another place, compare price and quality to BenBridge and you'll know. read more

Two stars because I love the ring I purchased and the store has a good selection of jewelry. However, a couple of big problems occurred during the purchase. I had a special order and the salesperson wrote my name down incorrectly, thus didn't call about the ring when it arrived. Secondly, the salesperson said I was approved for 0% interest for 12 months. I made two payments over a month and a half and took a closer look at one of my statements and saw I was being charged 19% interest! I called the credit department and the store, and the store said that it was a mistake by the salesperson and he entered it incorrectly. I find it unprofessional to make such a big mistake in the first place and then leave it up to the customer to find out. If you decide to purchase jewelry and set up payment plans, take a close look at your statement to make sure everything is correct! They corrected it quickly and hopefully this was a one time mistake and other customers will have better luck. read more
