Our experience with Ben Bridge Jewelers started off wonderfully about three months ago. We worked with a representative named Erin, who was incredibly helpful during the diamond selection process and helped us create the engagement ring of my dreams. At that point, we were excited to continue working with Ben Bridge for our wedding bands. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. When we returned to order our wedding bands--simple, classic gold bands--we learned Erin was no longer working there. From then on, the service became inconsistent. We were shuffled between different staff members due to scheduling issues, and no one seemed to take ownership of our experience. About 10 days ago, I visited the store intending to order and pay for our bands. I was told they needed to contact a third-party vendor for updated pricing and would call me Monday. I was also told they couldn't take payment over the phone, even though I made it clear I wouldn't be able to return until the weekend due to my work schedule. No one called. So I returned that Saturday, only to be quoted $3,500--up from $2,700 just two weeks prior. That's a 22% increase, and when I asked why, the sales associate, Angela, rolled her eyes and started being disrespectful and condescending giving me the excuse that "the cost of gold goes up." Except--it actually hasn't. In fact, gold prices per oz has declined by about 2.6% over the past two weeks. Her condescending tone made it feel like she assumed we were too ignorant to know better. This kind of treatment was shocking, especially after spending $5,000 with Ben Bridge and returning to spend another $4,000. We ended up walking across the hallway to two other jewelers, received clear, fair quotes in MINUTES --without the attitude or hassles --and made our purchase elsewhere. My advice: avoid Ben Bridge. The customer service is dismissive and unprofessional. We will never return. read more

My bf surprised me, telling me he needed to come to the mall to get some new work shirts and shorts, but really wanting me to look at engagement rings. I mean, he did end up getting work shirts and shorts but I also did end up getting a ring. Not gonna lie, I was a bit against big box stores and buying jewelry at the mall in general. I don't know why, I guess I felt like I might get ripped off or not get exactly what I wanted. I've been looking online too, so I was very well versed in what I wanted but was not about to buy expensive jewelry without seeing it in person first. We went into every single jewelry store in this mall (and a few more around town some days later) and ended up coming right back to the first place we stopped, Ben Bridge. Why? Erin. When we first walked in, we couldn't get over her excitement for our engagement and her infectious smile. Literally, every place we walked into scoffed at us for not wanting a diamond. This is not how Erin reacted. She was excited I wanted something different. She didn't scold me to tell me that emeralds are soft/imperfect so they chip easily, she asked me pertinent questions like if I would be wearing it at work and if I was open to harder green gems. She actually found me an extremely expensive teal green sapphire I was coveting online that I didn't think I could get in reality because of the budget. She found me the literal perfect stone, in my price range, and I'm not ashamed to admit, I cried when I saw it. This in turn caused an avalanche, with my bf and Erin crying too. Thank goodness Carol was there to help with the tissues. I'd like to let you know this didn't happen in one day either. When we first met, I was in a state of shock and did not fully tell her the truth of what I wanted. Luckily, she emailed me that day and we emailed back and forth for a few days. A week later, she had the perfect gemstone for me. Coming in to look at the stone, we never felt a bit of pressure that we had to buy anything. She (and Carol) also did not pressure me into getting a setting/mount that was there. And actually, I didn't see anything I was in love with but I did see components so Carol got online to their catalog and found exactly what I was looking for ordered it for me to make my perfect ring. The patience that these two wonderful women have is fantastic. I haven't seen the ring yet, he wants to do the knee thing, but I just know that every time I look at it, I will think of how amazing and caring and wonderful both Erin and Carol made this experience. She met the energy of buying an engagement ring 100%. She showed us a few samples and took down our information with our intended budget. Was lucky not to loose it! Was charged by Ben Bridge $100 to get it fixed. Came to pick it up and found the store closed (twice) during the business hours posted. Poor quality, bad service. I went to Ben Bridge to get my mother's ring resized. She passed away recently. With the resizing and repair of a few prongs, they gave me a price, $389... I agreed to the price and left my ring there. They said I should be able to pick it up in about a week. Unfortunately, a few days after, I received a call from one of the managers at Ben Bridge letting me know that the price has now gone up about $500+ more! This was after we have already agreed to the price and I had already left my ring with them. I have the receipt with the breakdown of what needed to be repaired and the pricing. I am very upset! They said they would call me again to let me know if they can keep the price at the original cost they gave me. Why should they even be re-negotiating the price at this point? A jeweler should be honest and straightforward. A reliable jeweler should not only be able to guarantee quality in their work but also be able to stand by their word in order to keep their customers confident in their business dealings with them. I took my watch, Casio G shock, for a simple battery replacement. I was told that the watch maker would be in at certain days and hours. So, I returned and then was told he was just out for a short break. Ok, I get it. So I left my watch and they said it would take about a half hour. I asked for my watch to be set for 24 hour time, aka military time. When I got my watch back, it was not set to 24hr time. The associate said the "watch maker" didn't know how to do it. Visited the Galleria Mall location several times (July, August, September) late in 2009. Service was typically friendly and prompt. Diamonds were strictly the subject of my visit. Although there were several stones in the "I" range many were quite "clean" when viewed under 10x loupe. The Bridge chain sticks to high prices regardless of the level of knowledge you show about diamonds which is the reason for the two-star rating. This company seems to follow the mall-jeweler mentality of standing firm on price no matter how unrealistic such price is although I will say their stock of diamonds (overall) appeared to be of better quality than the typical jeweler in town. Too bad prices are so high. The interior of the store is close to "upper-crust" design and rents in malls are typically high so they seem to have much overhead to cover. Don't let the atmosphere/appearance of the store fool you as their "guarantees" are similar to what you pay for at other jewelers. Shop around...as far as diamonds are concerned you'll find a better deal elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend this place. I went in to get a battery for my Tissot watch and the guy who "helped" me refused to sell me a battery. He said they would only sell it to me if they replaced it. He said it was their store policy. In my opinion, the man who waited on me was arrogant and dismissive. He just did not seem to care that he would be losing a customer over a battery. He seemed to be rather proud of the store's policy and made no attempt to explain the rationale, even after I asked him to explain the policy. Rest assured, my next Tissot watch will not be bought at this store. I have a Tissot Touch and it is easy to pop the back case off and remove the battery. No jeweler expertise required. If you need a battery, go to Radio Shack. I found the exact same brand at Radio Shack that Tissot provided with the original watch. Only $6. Hope this helps. read more

I am absolutely blown away by the care and customer service I got from my experience. My husband and I first went to Fred Meyers across the way and the girl didn't even look up from her paperwork. With that, we walked over to Ben Bridge and were immediately greeted by the associates Justice and Teresa. We came in to resize my engagement ring and Justice took good care of us. She took a good look at my ring and also noticed that one of the prongs holding the diamond needed adjusting so to be careful, I added that on to the service. I went in on Monday and it was ready by Friday. Justice again called me promptly at noon for pick up and when I came in, I checked the ring and paid. Roughly $140 for the resizing and fixing the prong. I am so happy with the service and I will definitely return to Justice and Teresa for their excellent service. read more

So impressed with the staff at this Ben Bridge and Andrew in particular! My husband and I went in to browse rose gold necklaces (I've been wanting one and my 40th birthday was coming up). Andrew led us to their selection and showed us several pieces. My husband (who for some time had been planning to upgrade my basic rose gold wedding band) then asked Andrew if they had any diamond eternity rings in a rose gold setting. Andrew then showed us the selection they had and in a rather impromptu and spontaneous moment, my husband decided he wanted to buy the one I liked the best. It was a quick, easy and painless transaction and we were pleasantly surprised at all aspects of it. Andrew was professional, extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient with us as we browsed the story for both rings and necklaces. We never felt pressured and felt comfortable to look around. I went in for a refund, now there policy clearly says it has to be within the 90 days of purchase and the refund would have to be given back as a check. On my recent trip to the Galleria Mall I was looking for presents for my bridesmaids and went inside Ben Bridge to look at their Pandora selection. Cindy greeted us and was very friendly and warm. She suggested other options for my bridesmaids that included pearl necklaces or bracelets. She actually showed me a wider selection than what I had gone in to look at and now I have better options than a simple Pandora bracelet. Customer Service has been altered apparently by ownership/mgmt. of this jeweler. When we purchased by husbands Tissot watch we were told that battery replacement could be handled for the lifetime of the watch. We never had a problem until this year when my husband asked for a battery replacement and they told him that was only good for five years and they would do it for $25.00. We no longer feel comfortable with their "guaranteed" service. read more
