I brought it in with an identical pocket watch for parts for Antonio to repair. There were a couple of hiccups but Antonio fixed the watch with good turnaround time. I thought it still had a problem with it after I picked it up for a second time, but it is working just fine now and has been working as it should. I have other less sentimental pocket watches that may need servicing so I will bring those in to Antonio when possible. Friendly guy and confident that he knows how to fix old pocket watches like a master. Thank you Antonio.

"Genius me" was able to remove the back from my MOVADO Classic Museum Watch with the Sapphire glass (designed in 1947) that is still as flawless as the day I purchased the watch decades ago. I removed it so I could replace a dead RENATA #395 battery which is the exact battery recommended by Movado. FYI, they're only $6.95 for a 3pack on Amazon. MY PROBLEM. I appeared to have "slightly" bent the watch back when I removed it. Despite all my cleverness and tools in my workshop, I was not able to secure the back after replacing the battery. That's why/when I started looking for a jewelry repair shop for help. I chose Anthony's based on the many prior 5star reviews on Yelp. \ As I walked into the small shop where I saw 3 men at work, I expected to pay about $20 for the service I needed IF someone was able to undo my damage and hand me my cherished timepiece in one piece. Eric worked on my watch for a couple of minutes and got some advice from Anthony himself. Would my "patient" live? YES! I started to reach for my wallet when Eric handed me my museum piece. WHAT? "You don't want ANY of my money?" was my reaction when he said there was NO CHARGE. This is why I have taken the time to post this review. Yes, it took him less than 3 minutes to solve my problem but I expected to pay for their expertise. Eric simply added that they would appreciate it if I would come again when I need anything jewelry related. I absolutely will !

You stated things that are simply untrue but I am not going to bother clarifying your errors. I was going to remove my review because I actually felt empathy (something most are void of these days), but after reading your reply, I will keep my review in place. I can never understand why some businesses as yours cannot take any responsibility for your failures, then you twist and distort the truth to make you look innocent, as you place the blame on me, the consumer, making me look bad. So when a customer has a problem with your business, you automatically throw them under the bus? Unbelievable and disgusting of you. It must be a defense mechanism or just a sleazy Vegas thing. Goodbye. *** Been thinking about this review and felt it needed to be said. I came in with a new $2,500 musical pocket watch with a defective front lid that I wanted fixed; it didn't open to a 90-degree angle and the music kept playing after the lid was shut (which should turn off). The watch repair person (Alfonso) wasn't available but is only there for the first two hours in the morning. Not convenient for customers. One of the girls, Angie, told me to leave the watch there and he'd look at it. I wanted to talk with him personally so she took some photos of the watch and told me she'd talk with Alfonso in the morning. The next morning I called but he wasn't there or couldn't talk on the phone, or didn't want to. Angie got passive-aggressive with me and said I should've left the watch -- totally overlooking that she told me that she'd talk with him. I was told to bring it in. Two days later, I brought it in, talked with Eric (Alfonso's assistant) who was super nice, then Alfonso came out to talk with me. My first impression of him was a big sigh and a look of frustration on his face while looking at my watch. He told me to leave it with him to see if he could fix the lid -- no charge if he couldn't. I accepted and left the watch there. I asked Eric how long it would take and I was told two weeks. Seemed like a long time to troubleshoot a lid but fine. Two weeks went by without a word. I called and asked about my watch and was told to call Alfonso the next morning. The next morning I called and he asked me if I could wait the following Monday. That was fine. Monday came and they were closed. I called and left a voicemail. Never got a call back. I called Tuesday morning and talked with Alfonso. He then told me to come in on Thursday morning. As I was trying to ask him questions about the repair status, he kept putting me off and wanted to get off the phone. It was frustrating trying to get some simple information about my watch but it was like pulling teeth to keep Alfonso on the phone for 60 seconds. The next day (Wednesday) Alfonso called me (first time anyone called me). He asked me to come in now. I live in Boulder City and couldn't just drop everything, jump in the car, and make that ridiculous drive up to Green Valley. I still couldn't get solid information from him. Thursday morning I went in and asked the other girl there if I could see Alfonso. She seemed less than thrilled for some reason. Snooty. Alfonso came out with the watch and he explained what he did (I think?) but vaguely. I asked if the music stopped now when the lid is closed. He said yes, though not seconds later the watch started playing the music with the lid closed. Alfonso looked like he was in a hurry, took it in the back, did who-knows-what, and came back out less than a minute later. I looked at the girl and said the watch was sitting here for three weeks and she mumbled something under her breath in a rude manner. The music stopped playing when the lid closed. Not sure what he did but probably bent the lid to engage the button. As for the lid opening, he couldn't fix it. Not sure why. I didn't fully understand, but couldn't fix it. No charge. Alfonso was nice enough but made no excuses or apologies. The watch was there for three weeks and a day, and not much was done to it. I took the watch and left. A few days later, the watch started playing music again with the lid closed. What a colossal waste of time, driving, and leaving the watch there for three weeks almost untouched when I could've found another jeweler to fix it. The girls who work there are rude curtsy children, but Eric was the only one there who showed genuine friendliness and respect. To think I was about to buy one of their pocket watches in the display cabinet, I decided not to because of the overall bad service I got. I won't be back.

I came down here and showed them my two watches and was quoted a price and left. Super simple, super quick, super friendly. I said there wasn't a rush because I was going to be out of town for 2 weeks. They said "that's fine, just stop by when you get back in town". I stopped by 2 weeks later and was able to pick up one of my watches, working perfectly. My other watch, they couldn't find. They said that their watch repairman takes the watches home and it must still be there but they weren't sure, but they would give me a call if they found it. This very much annoyed me, especially since I drove about 20 minutes to get there. I left and headed home in about 15 minutes later, I got a call saying they they had found the watch but had just misplaced it and I could come back and get it. I was already at home so I didn't return until the following day. When I went to pick up my watch the following day, they had it ready but told me that they called three of their parts suppliers and nobody had the part they needed, so they weren't able to fix it for me. I completely understand that, it just kind of added to the frustration of having to go back and forth and back and forth. I would come here again, because compared to some other places I've been to, they were very nice. This particular instance was just a bit frustrating and annoying.

Not to mention the original backings had silicone so now it hurts to wear my earring when laying down or resting my head anywhere. When I had came to collect them, they tried to tell me I never brought in the other earring! I began to cry while telling myself out loud "I knew I should have taken a picture" and they some how immediately "found it again" after telling me to "just hold on and dont cry"... the man went into a different room and re-appeared again and with the other earring and it was in a separate folder. I finally decided to write this review a year later because of the fact that I almost lost my earring FOREVER today(I was lucky to have found my earring in my back patio and the crappy backing in the carpet after turning my house upside down) - all due to being forced to take different backings which slide right off the threading- and the post for reset earring is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN SHAPE SIZE AND COLOR. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU PLAN ON GETTING SCAMMED. These were earrings I have worn since BIRTH! They should have never EVER SWITCHED OUT MY POST WITHOUT TELLING ME. As it was extremely sentimental and I know I will NEVER get it back. IF THEY COULD NOT HAVE FIXED IT WITH THE ORIGINAL -THEY SHOULD HAVE RETURNED THE ORIGINAL PIECES TO ME. Not to mention that replacement post was a crappy quality of gold they gave me! BUYER BEWARE

In the meantime, I got to talked him about some of the coins and other wares that he had in his store and listened to the interesting conversations from everybody else coming in. They were only able to replace the batteries in three of my watches, and did so in about 5 minutes for $5 a pop. The other two, he recommended a jewelry repair shop down the road called Ed's.
