The question I asked was about a combined spinal block & epidural - she refused to answer. I then picked up a magazine in her office which explained to me what it was. My husband also made a comment about something on a poster in her office - which she said wasn't true information.... The ultrasound was very fast & I had no time to ask questions. Do not come here if you would like a holistic birth because I was informed I'd be confided to my back only, not allowed to eat, in the bed. Do any amount of research & you will see why this is a red flag. I came back for one more visit ONLY because it was already previously scheduled & I wanted to see the baby & get the blood work done. (She gave me no choice in the blood work, by the way) The ultrasound tech was much nicer than Dr Kenner, however she informed us of gender before 13 weeks, which is illegal in some places to tell gender that soon because it is far too early. Despite what you are told at intake, you will get no more than 15 minutes a day to talk to your loved one and they are in a VERY public space with a ton of background noise that makes it difficult to communicate. You will also NOT have regular contact with their care team. They are concerned with the home environment the patient will return to but have very little compassion for the family and do not seem to have a grasp that life outside of the facility does not get put on hold. Know going in that despite what you are told, you will have little contact with your loved one, minimal updates about their progress and care, and might hear from their care team once over the course of 4wks. Being informed of this ahead of time might help others manage a difficult situation - especially if there are children involved. It would have been a much better experience for everyone if they had been clear on the realities of the expected communication from the start.
