I've used Benchmark now twice. Once for a water heater, next for a leaky pipe in a wall... Jamie was quick to respond and send help..... Within hours, we had a plan, scheduled the repair, made the repair, which made our lives great again. Jason was the plumber that professionally repaired my copper pipes with the prettiest welds I've seen. A work of art. Too bad I hide this stuff behind the walls.. And the bill was very, very reasonable. I hope to use them again, but hopefully, not too soon...... I'd publish a photo, but it's a pic of a wall that is totally ripped open, by me... to see the leak... Kind of like seeing throw up.... Call Benchmark, you will be pleased you did.... Jamie and Joe are like the US postal service/postmaster. They are their rain or shine. I moved from Los Angeles, California to the Chicago area 10 years ago. Because Los Angeles dwellings generally do not have basements, I had a rude awakening to ejector pumps, sump pumps and flooding basements. Both have been supermen to me! Previously used this company with Choice Home Warranty and had no issues. Was excited to work with them again but the customer service has gone down hill. Voicemails were not returned and my first appointment after rescheduling was a no show. The last technician that came told my tenants he would be back with parts and never showed. When I called he advised there were other jobs and would attempt to reschedule. They contacted him numerous times and he has not responded. I called choice warranty and advised to no longer partner with this company. If I could rate a 0 I would. read more

They were assigned to me by home warranty of America They have been to my house three times. They should have only been here twice. They made a mistake and had to come back to fix it. The problem is that they won't fix the water damage to my walls, that happened due to their error. I got tired of calling them and them not returning my calls or texts. I am just over it. Originally I would have given Benchmark Plumbing and rodding 5 stars. However, they cleaned my catch basin and were paid and were to send me a receipt via email. They didn't. I guess I should have known they may not be reliable when they called and told me they'd clean the basin on a Saturday and they did not show up or call. I had to call them to find out why they didn't come and was told we will come on Monday. They did come on Monday and clean the basin so I thought. Then less than a week later ( that following Thursday 3 days later) the water from the catch basin backed up in my basement floor drain. I called Benchmark about this and asked if they could come back and rod the drain and/or catch basin out. And clean the basin out. I was given the run around by Jamie. He said he didn't know who from his company came out to do the original cleaning of the basin and he'd go to the office and pull the work order to see who did it and have that tech call me and come out. Jamie never called me back and neither did the tech. I called back and left messages and no response. I even found the phone number of the te that cleaned the basin because he had sent me pictures of the work he'd done and he talked to me but called me Miss Weber and said he'd call me back. He never called back. All of this happened as my basement got flooded. I would recommend them if it is a problem that you won't have to rely on them coming back to save you from a flooded basement. Update: 10/08/2018 spoke to Jamy and he was willing to come out and rod the basin and drain but we scheduled with someone else. Jamy said I'd be looking to pay $200 or more and the other plumber will do the job for $175. I think Benchmark should have done it but I had to call someone else because they were too busy. read more

I had Nick come to my home several times and it was good service at first. Then I was charged a warranty fee when not using a warranty company which was clarified. Also, he broke our cartilage in the bathroom faucet which left us without water. We had him check on the hot water pressure and while putting it together he broke it. The boss Jamie did not offer to fix what his technician had broken. I will never use this service again. read more

They said they went down the sewer line with a camera and they didn't see any blockage. The next day the sewage backed up in the basement. They came back and still said it wasn't blocked, they were paid $700 in 2 days. Another plumbing company found the blockage where it meets the main line and fixed the problem. read more

My sump pump went out this morning and my basement flooded. I looked up plumbers near me and found Benchmark. Seriously I am so grateful that I called them. Jamie was there within the hour and despite limited workspace and lighting he saved me. Mind you this is in the middle of a snow storm. He went to Menards and bought the pump and had it in within an hour. His price was reasonable and he was just very friendly and knowledgeable. I used my warranty company to do a simple rod, but the guy they sent out had no clue to deal with the problem. Wanted to put holes in my walls under the sink. Didn't know how to rod from the tub. He said he never seen a tub like this before, called his boss and his boss said the same thing. After looking it up he figured how to go through the tub, but it needed to be rodded from the sink like i told him. So he couldn't fix it through the tub. So i had to call trojan plumbing took him 5 mins. To rod from the sink he said you just have to know what you doing because of the pipes under the sink and for the tub he looked at it and said that is easy two screws and pull. I just talk to bench mark plumbing and he said our coustomers love our work sorry about your small issue. Paying twice for a job is a big issue send someone who is experienced that is what im paying for, a professional. read more

Seriously folks, these guys are the real deal. I needed more than one plumbing job (ejector pump & hot water heater installed) so talked to a couple places but I take my research seriously (yelp, google reviews, BBB, Angie's list & the like) so ended up narrowing it down rather quickly. I mean, I'm not near Manteno but yes, in their service area yet they went above & beyond measure to gain not just my trust but my business. They answered all questions in clear, concise manner, and fully explained all I need to know about what was happening & needed doing. Jamie even came out to our house at no cost so the estimate would be precise. With all my incessant questions, he was here at least an hour. Who does THAT? One other company offered to stop in but were 5 minutes away. Their price wasn't just competitive but really affordable given all our expenses as of late (sometimes when it rains it pours. Not their or anyone else's problem!). At the time of the appointment, my husband worked from home & said Jamie was here sharp, had picked up what we needed at Menard's (given we'd otherwise had to have paid $75 to deliver) and fully explained anything else that came up. But no, there were no surprises, just useful tips & such. Trust me, I check things thoroughly beforehand so can say without equivocation, these reviews got it right. Outstanding company one should NOT overlook. At a family party this weekend, Jamie made such an impression as did his company, I was sure to tell all attending I know WHO they can trust to call when they need a plumber (as that's just a day ahead for ALL of us eventually). Once again, yelp steered me in right direction. This is a great plumbing service. The work Jamie does is excellent. He was very thorough. He was very patient. He was able to give me great insight on how the specific plumbing in my home works. I came in contact with Benchmark through having poor work done in my home that's needed correction. He basically uncovered that the previous service had no clue what they were doing. I was referred to Joe by my Warranty company. He cleaned the drain out in my shower with such force that it cased the drain piping underneath to loosen and leak into my first floor. I called him and sent him pictures. The warranty company reopened the order. I spoke to him and he said " all he cares about is that I am happy." He repeated that over and over and over and over. He set up a time to come out 2 days latter. Day of I text him to see if he is coming out and he said that he is not. He did not notify me or tell me he has cancelled the job, because all he cares about is that I am happy. right?. I had taken the day off of work and I still have a drain leaking into my first floor. He is now not responsive and will not take ownership of his faulty work, or at least look at it. Do not fall for " I just want to make sure you are 100% happy" its BS. He breaks things then walks away and will leave you hanging. I ask you to RUN as far away from Joe as you can and don't look back. I do not recommend unethical individual's and Joe is a prime example of one. read more

We have only lived in this house since March. Benchmark came out to the house a week before we closed and "repaired" one of our two sump pumps. The "repaired" pump failed two weeks later leaving us with more than 6 inches of water throughout our lower level. They came back out. Told us how they had been there previously and previous home owner didn't want them to replace the pump since she was moving. The 2nd trip, they replaced the sump pump which had stopped working and now the other one is making noise like it will fail. On our 3rd trip, today, the technician even mentioned that the one they replaced 6 months ago was tied to the sewer line but they can't help with this one because "it's not covered under waranty. " so he's here in my house, sees an issue, knows how to fix the issue (tie it into the sewer line) but he doesn't fix it and then I get to pay him for coming out to the house and essentially telling me: yep I see the issue but not gonna fix it because we fixed the other one in april... Need a new plumber! read more

Benchmark was assigned to do some work via my home warranty company. I tried contacting them on three different occasions to schedule time for them to come to my home. No one from Benchmark ever returned my phone calls or texts. I finally spoke to someone at Benchmark on 10-11-19 about my visit and was told a technician would call me today. I wouldn't give this company one star. This was the worst service provider I have ever dealt with. A technician came to my home Wednesday, April 29th a day after my scheduled appointment. He arrived without the proper equipment and had to wait for over an hour for the owner Jaime to bring a rodder. The technician suspected a camera would be needed. I discussed this with the owner while he was still in my home and he said he didn't have the camera with him but, someone would return with one. No one ever showed up that night or the days to follow. Despite multiple back and forth discussions regarding warranty coverage. My warranty with Home Warranty of America not only covered the camera but, they also covered up to $5000 dig repair or replacement of damaged pipes. Which I also discussed with the owner and he said the job wouldn't be more than that amount. Ultimately, the owner Jaime did not want to honor the warranty. Seems like he'd rather rack up on smaller incomplete jobs thank put in the work that's necessary to resolve the broader issue. I am extremely disappointed with Benchmark Plumbing and HWA for referring this company who does not honor their business obligations or relationships. I wouldn't recommend them for a dog house. I have been unable to use my kitchen sink, bathrooms, and laundry equipment for 8 days! This is unacceptable!! read more
