I am writing this review to share the nightmare experience that I endured at Bend Hot Yoga. I was an avid yoga practitioner at the studio, and during the summer last year when Bend had an orientation for an upcoming teacher training, I decided to take the plunge. I paid the studio $3200 in advance, which was the cost of the training, scheduled to start at the beginning of the year. At the end of December, I ended up undergoing an unexpected surgery, but I was supposed to be healed and able to participate in the training as planned. As it turned out, I had various complications healing, and was not able to participate properly, and I began to get more and more behind. At this point, I asked the studio (aka Sarah Rainwater) if there was any way they could give me some type of partial credit toward some other service that the studio offered, in order to help me with my situation. She/they flatly said "NO", and refused to work with me in any way. At first I was told that although certification was off the table for me, I could still participate in whatever capacity I was able to for my own personal growth. Shortly after this, however, I was told via email that if I missed any more classes or gave any less than 100%, then I could no longer participate at all. So basically, the exorbitantly expensive service that I had already paid for was rescinded from me. This complete lack of customer service was beyond insulting. Needless to say, I never went back to the studio ever again. But the studio/Ms. Rainwater happily pocketed my $3200, while I received nothing in return. I have never felt as completely ripped off in my entire life. This was a complete violation of my trust and utterly unconscionable. The studio operated with zero sense of integrity, in my opinion. I went to Bend with high hopes, but I was sorely disappointed. I found that it was more a meat-market than a yoga studio. It was obvious that the instructor was more concerned with showing off her breasts and behind in fashionable yoga gear than she was concerned about helping the students. After a few classes it became clear that each class was taught with the exact same wording - almost like a script - it was very annoying and distracting. The real deal breaker for me is the shameless use of dirty energy to run an massive industrialized heat and humidity set-up. Honestly, can we really provide a healthy experience to people while with excess amounts of oil and petroleum for a profit? Seriously, grow a soul or at least a sense of decency and put in some solar panels. Yes, its expensive and yes it will change the profit. If all you're concerned with the profit, that's fine, but be honest about it. Say the profit is the most important thing and quit trying to pretend that you run this business for the spiritual enlightenment of the people paying through the nose. Tell them up front how content you are to destroy the planet for a profit. At least then you'd show some dignity. Bend is disgusting example of how people will gladly contribute to the destruction of the planet for profit - and without returning anything to the community while the community pays full price for a membership. read more

I attended this studio for a long time, but when I found I had a shoulder injury things cot complicated. I brought this to the attention of the owner, Nicole, and instead of compassion or even information, I got a stone wall, cold shoulder type of reaction. Her response was to remind me of the waver I signed when I joined Bend. I was a little offended, but decided not to take it personally. Over the next few weeks I heard of not one, not two, not three, but four other people with a shoulder injury in the exact same place as mine. Out of concern for myself and others I brought this to the attention of the owner. The next day I received and email from her husband stating that I had violated my contract with them by discussing the shoulder injury issue with other practitioners. I was accused of trying to "instigate trouble" and was told I would no longer be welcome at Bend. I'm currently trying to get my last months payment of $149 returned to me and there is a lot of friction of the other end. I may just have to forget the money because its not worth taking them to court for. Somehow I'm pretty sure that if I gave them a reason, they would have no problem suing the yoga pants right off me. read more

I have tried yoga in my 53 years but Hot Yoga by far is the most wonderful spiritual and physical experience I have ever had. I would have bet you I would not like the "Hot" temperature but it makes my body gently move in my practice and actually gives me a better work out. Even if you have health challenges you must give this a try. Nicole and Jennifer are amazing instructors. Nicole is very sensitive to those of us with health problems and is so knowledgeable in so many things. She is also a natural-path. I would have never thought this girl could do the poses I do with 7 hip replacements and one knee replacement. This is the place to give yourself what you deserve a safe, gentle, and satisfying emotional workout. Bend Hot Yoga, located in downtown Prescott is by far my favorite studio. I first found their studio due to a hip injury and my doctor recommended I try out hot yoga. From the moment I stepped into the studio I was greeted with smiles and a calming environment. It is a very nonjudgemental community and this allowed me to grow into my yoga practice. Everything is well maintained, clean, and organized. The instructors reach out to you and encourage you to do what is best for you body. They believe you should respect your body on a day to day basis which is very encouraging, giving you no pressure to preform movements your body wouldn't allow you to do! I have been with this studio for about a year now and I can say it has greatly improved my stress levels. Additionally, it has connected me deeper with my mind, body and soul! read more

At first, I was very impressed with this studio. It is clean and the instructors do seem knowledgeable. However, after some time I started to question: how accurate was my first impression of the instructors. It became clear that there is almost no variety in instruction styles. After months of hearing the exact same words said at the exact same time in every single class became so monotonous, distracting and irritating. I asked the owners, Phil and Nicole about this since it was a sincere obstacle to my practice. They replied from way up on high horses the Bikram is taught the same way and if I didn't like it then it was a sign of my own "weak mind" and not any problem of theirs. Maybe that's true. It may also be true that Bend simply isn't Bikram and the studio may need to take a more realistic and less egoistic view. read more

I just went to my first class at Bend... it is an amazing place!!! Nicole led a great class - Traditional Low Heat. She modeled poses and walked around the studio to ensure that we were all doing them correctly, and to the best of our abilities. I have some injuries that require modifications, Nicole not only encouraged the modifications, but offered props... unheard of in traditional Bikram! I've only met two staff - Nicole (owner, I believe) and Sarah, they are both incredibly welcoming, helpful, and friendly. I can't imagine anyone not feeling immediately at ease here. The facility is beautiful! It's clean, peaceful, and has great showers. The worst part? I don't live in Prescott! I do now, however, have a gorgeous studio to go to whenever I am here. read more

Bend yoga is one of the cleanest yoga studio's that I have had the pleasure of attending. I have been to many yoga studio's in my travel's and this is a great yoga studio. The staff makes you feel like you are part of their family. This is a hot yoga studio, but not a very hot yoga studio like Bikram yoga. The temperature is about 90 to 95. The yoga classes are scripted like you will find in a Bikram yoga studio. The yoga script is a mix of hatha yoga and vinyasa flow. The classes are about a difficult as a Bikram yoga class, but easier than a Mysore Ashtanga yoga Primary Series class. Prescott is at a altitude of about 5500 feet, so hot yoga at this altitude will give you a good workout. I would recommend this studio to anyone that loves yoga. read more

I have been going to Bend for many years now and I love it! The variety of classes and times available cannot be beat. I have also enjoyed classes in the non heated studio as well. One of my favorite features is being able to sign up online through the mind body app. I work full time and know that I sometimes can only get there about 5 mins before class begins. I really appreciate that I do not have to arrive 20 mins early to "claim" my spot. As someone who lives in Prescott I am really grateful for the amazing fitness opportunities that Bend provides and I am EXTREMELY excited to experience the new Bpedal spin studio tomorrow. I finally found a workout that I look forward to in the morning. The workout is relaxing, but when I leave I feel like I have worked out and had a great sweat. My anxiety has gone down exponentially since attending hot yoga regularly. I am very grateful to Nichole (owner, yoga teacher, naturopath), she is generous and nurturing. I had a wrist injury and she worked with me on giving it the proper amount of rest time and making sure I was using the proper modifications. She prioritized my health over making money...now that's a true healer and someone who truly believes in building community. Thank you, Nichole! read more

I was initially reluctant to try hot yoga because I don't generally feel well exercising in the heat (winter is my favorite season!). Friends encouraged me to give it a try, however, and I am so glad I did. I have been bothered by recurrent achilles tendonitis and plantar fascitis over many years. Since practicing hot yoga, both conditions appear to be resolved. I love to run the trails in Prescott and yesterday I was able to enjoy the strongest run I have had in over a year. Bend is not a "yoga" studio. Its is more like an exclusive exercise club based on appearances. Yes, the facility is attractive, but that is just another example of what really matters in this trendy little establishment. I've heard of many people being excluded or officially uninvited to the Bend Hot Yoga Prescott Club. If you're looking for a place to compete with someone else in every way from your car to your yoga clothes and mat, this is the place for you. If you're looking for something more soulful and closer to the actual teachings of the ancient yoga system, you may want to look around a little more. read more

If you're looking for a heartless, mean, soulless workout with an intensity level bordering on destructive (and some people are looking for just that) then Bend Hot Yoga Prescott is the place for you. If you are looking for "Yoga" the sacred science, as the ancient Rishi's practiced and as Patanjali describes, you may want to look for another studio. Prescott is a Yoga Mecca and with so many incredible teachers so near by, its a shame to miss out on the benefits that come from a holistic practice, which unfortunately, Bend is just unable to provide. read more

I was not impressed by this studio at all. The instructor was incredibly rude when she yelled at the class for talking, the room was a nasty green color that made me feel ill, and the place felt very trendy and fashion showy. Yoga is a spiritual science and that is not what is taught at Bend. If you want to compete with others in every way from your vehicle to your clothes to your mat and postures then Bend is the place for you. My understanding is that the place is going under and that its only a matter of time before they have to close the doors. read more

The rave reviews for Bend Hot Yoga of Prescott are well-deserved. Nicole and Jennifer are outstanding teachers -- combining excellent technical skills, a nice variety of power yoga styles, a warm welcoming attitude, and a fun, caring. extended-family ambience. Their prices are more than fair, especially for the quality of yoga being offered. Can't wait for their new "state of the art" studio to open [hopefully, before Thanksgiving]. In the meantime, their temporary facility near Safeway on Willow is plenty okay. read more

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I went to Bend. The room was a horrible green color like in a prison or an old psych hospital. The workout was good, but it was just that: A workout. Anyone who is familiar with the totality of the Vedic yoga system would probably be disappointed by the lack of "yoga" taught at this facility. Its more of a fashion show/competitive/hook-up environment than something substantially spiritual. I'm sure that is a great atmosphere for some people. Its just not right for me. read more

Bend Hot Yoga is amazing. Nicole and Jennifer are amazing instructors, and the studio is a warm and inviting place to be. I had never taken a yoga class before joining Bend, and I can not believe how good I feel. Give Nicole 8 weeks and she will help you transform your mind, body and soul. read more
