This was my greeting to checking in!
    Brandi G.

I have traveled and been in the hospitality industry for years and have never dealt with the most inhospitable company ever. First, this is NOT a 5-star hotel like it says. Encore in Boston is 5-star and was incredible. I only paid $300 a night and was treated like a queen. This place is possibly a 2-star, right above Motel 6. But even Motel 6 has cleaner floors. Yet for 2 nights I paid $576 total. Second, the towels were dirty, the floors were disgusting (I never took off my shoes), the door knob to the outside door was almost falling off ( I did complain and they fixed it halfway through the next day) and there was a huge stain on my comforter (I didn't even use it). For as much money as they charge, they can take out the nasty carpets and put in vinyl and use area rugs. They had a coffee maker that didn't work with sugar but no coffee except 3 K-cups that you can't use? Third, the location is probably the best part but honestly, it was so loud! I had to turn up the TV to max to drown out the roaring rapids. It was pretty to look at though. The worst thing about this business is the fact they don't have a clue how to run a hospitality business. I originally reserved a month ahead for my daughter's 30th birthday and a week before, we had a personal situation and we had to cancel. So I thought. On my part, I didn't read the refund policy but this was an unforeseen manner. When I went to cancel on Airbnb on the Sunday before, because of the inflexible policy, they would only give back $298. I was shocked and didn't understand why anyone would take money that they didn't work for so I requested a full refund. The host responded the next day with a choice, make an insurance claim or rebook immediately. Looking back maybe I should have thought longer on this decision but I was going through a lot and wasn't in the state of mind to know when to rebook. They denied my request. I tried with Airbnb and they had the nerve to say it was a personal problem. Duh! Airbnb left it up to the host who already denied my request. So I was going to take the loss of $222 and went to cancel again but then I was given a total of $135 I would get refunded because I waited the extra day to get the host to refund the whole thing. I cried. My life was already in distress and now this. Taking my hard earned money for their greedy gain. So I didn't cancel. I couldn't. It was too much money to just give them for free. I went alone because unfortunately my daughter was unable to go. The whole trip was ruined by greedy people. In hindsight, if we were able to have a moment to fix our situation, I would have rescheduled the trip and out of loyalty for a business that showed customer care, I would have told everyone about them and made all our trips to Bend with them. Since that was not the case and they obviously need to take people's money they didn't deserve to have, I'm here writing this but also I am a hairdresser that talks to hundreds of people a week. I have a business and I am a buyer for that business which brings me to different places like Bend to source products, I will never give your company another dime. Since my daughter was once a professional model and is now in the service industry, she will never recommend your business to her thousands of followers. Since I am an extrovert and a natural networker, I have already told many people about how awful your company is. Since I am a huge advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, they will know about your company. And once I figure out how to work Tiktok, I have plenty of videos to show off your sad rooms that you charge over $150 a night on Airbnb with a $85 cleaning fee and a $56 animal fee but on Google you advertise $69 a night and of course your made up 5-star rating. Talk about false advertisements. Troy has 62 rooms on Airbnb and none of them are rated highly. So I'm not the first person to think this company is a scam! You're better off down the street at Dune Motel.

Morning coffee and a book and I used a towel as a blanket on the brisk morning.

I rarely write negative reviews. If I have a bad experience I usually choose to stay silent about…read moreit but this one really bugged me. My friends and I (3 couples) stayed at one of their Palm Springs homes over Labor Day weekend and actually had a good time for most of the stay. But a couple of things happened that are causing me to write this review. 1. Upon arrival the house was over 90 degrees. I completely understand that Palm Springs is extremely hot and that homes need time to cool down. But I would expect that a company renting out a vacation home in the desert would think to turn on the AC well in advance of their guests' arrival. While the AC actually was on when we got there, it took about 11 hours for it to cool down to 78 degrees. The Arrived agent that met us at the house told us that it was an older AC system and that it would take some time to cool down, but 11 hours?? And that seems like even more reason to make sure the system is turned on well in advance. The excuse we were given was that they were very busy that day and that no one was able to turn it on earlier. 2. During the last night of our stay there was a thunderstorm that resulted in a leak in the ceiling in one of the bedrooms as well as the guest bathroom. The couple that was staying in that bedroom had to move to the couch (at 2am) and deal with some of their belongings getting essentially rained on. When I reported this to Arrived and asked if there would be any sort of reimbursement the response was "while we are sorry you were inconvenienced, we will not be compensating at this time as it was out of our control". I get that a storm is a force of nature and I was not anticipating a full reimbursement for our stay, but even a small amount of compensation for the inconvenience would have been nice. A few dollars for the dry cleaning of the clothes that got wet, credit or a discount for a future stay, any sort of gesture as a token of appreciation for our business. Nothing was offered and I found the treatment of the situation to be overall very casual and as if they just wanted to be done with us. I gave two stars here because the house was in good condition and the Airbnb listing was accurate so I can't fault them for that. But for customer service, maybe 1 star. The greeting agent was nice. Otherwise, not a great experience.

We recently rented an Arrived-managed home in Sunriver for a two-night staycation... Friday and…read moreSaturday night. Our total cost was right around $1,100, including roughly $300 in cleaning fees. Unfortunately, the way Arrived handled our check-in -- and more importantly, the way they handled it afterward -- left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Prior to our stay, we asked about an early check-in and were told no because guests were checking out Friday morning. Fair enough... checkout is 11:00 and check-in is 4:00, and obviously the house needs to be cleaned. We arrived a little after 3:00, not expecting to get into the house, but simply to leave our truck and unload our bikes and scooters before heading out. The cleaners didn't even arrive until about 3:20. This is a four-bedroom, three-bath house... there was obviously no way it was going to be properly cleaned and ready in the 40 minutes remaining before our 4:00 check-in. We came back around 4:30-4:45 and found the cleaners sitting on the front porch. They had accidentally locked the key inside the house... along with one of their phones. So now we had to wait for someone from Arrived to come with another key. Once they finally got the cleaners back inside, Arrived then left with the spare key to have a copy made... which meant we had to stay put until they returned because the house couldn't be secured with our belongings inside. Mistakes happen... I understand that. What bothered me more was Arrived's response when I called about it. They tried to minimize the whole thing as only being a couple hours of inconvenience and initially offered a $50 refund. A couple hours may not sound significant to a management company... but when you've paid $1,100 for a TWO-NIGHT stay, losing a chunk of your first afternoon/evening because the house wasn't ready and the cleaning crew locked themselves out is significant. I told them I thought $200 was a reasonable adjustment. They responded that the nightly rental rate was only around $200, apparently ignoring the fact that my actual transaction with them was approximately $1,100. I even suggested that $100 of the adjustment could come from the roughly $300 cleaning fee since the cleaning/check-in process was the source of the problem. Their final answer was $100. And they knew I wasn't satisfied with that. For me, this isn't really about another $100... it's about how a company responds when something goes wrong. Had Arrived simply acknowledged that this was a lousy way to begin a very short stay and made a meaningful effort to make it right, I probably wouldn't be writing this review. Instead, I felt like they minimized the inconvenience and did the least they could do to put the issue behind them. The house itself was fine and we enjoyed our time in Sunriver once we finally got settled... but based on how Arrived handled the problem, I would be very hesitant to rent another property managed by them. When you're paying these kinds of fees for a short-term rental, the management and service are part of what you're paying for... especially when nearly $300 of the bill is a cleaning fee.

Steve came out and met us in the back yard with a cute couple of pups, and our dog had such a good time playing that I think he thought it was the best vacation ever. I laughed so hard watching them play, I wished I had caught it on film because it was so funny. The house is an easy walk to Downtown Bend. It's off in a neighborhood, so you feel like you're getting a real feel for what it is like to live in the area. There were two bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub, and I had an excellent bath. The other bath had an amazing walk in shower. I fell in love with the creative, and thoughtful design of the spaces and Steve was generous with his time and showed me another space in the triplex. Such creative design, it was just fun to hang out in the house. Bend is surrounded by incredible natural beauty, so we went hiking every day. The hot tub at the end of the day was perfect. The kitchen is set up fully so, it would be easy to cook though we didn't since Bend is filled with great restaurants. Both Alex and Steve are great hosts. My son has a 19-month-old and a 2-month-old. The home rented was a 3 bedroom and 2 story home. There is only 1 HVAC controller downstairs in the living room. The upstairs was hot as compared to the downstairs. Bend, OR was experiencing smokie days during this time. The smoke was lingering in the house and did not seem to be conditioned, or even moving. The only air coming out of the upstairs registers was just moving the smoke down around the baby. My son went out and purchased $1,000 of air purifiers to help. Without these, the home would have been uninhabitable and they would have to leave it. The air purifiers were hard to find as all places were sold out of them. Everyone in Bend seemed to have purchased any and all purifiers everywhere. When getting them in the house, right away one of them read 164. Not a good thing for a baby or anyone. Then I suggested looking at the HVAC filters. To my surprise and horror, the filters were turned over instead of new ones installed, as if someone thought that they could filter from both sides. The arrow was pointing in the wrong direction for airflow. This put the extremely dirty side from the past several months on the top and on the side where the HVAC handler is, meaning it was blowing dirt through the system and into the rooms. In addition, the other side was so filthy that there was no way anything was being filtered. This is why the smoke was lingering in the house and the differences in the temp. BlueBird Day lied and stated they had replaced them before my son arrived. I have never seen this kind of thing happen. We put new air filters in that we went and bought and then everything got much better. The air was then filtered, the flow was good, the air quality in the home was much better, and the temperatures were synced up. My son attempted to resolve these issues with BlueBird but they were horrible in regards to assisting him. He asked for a partial refund for putting his children in danger and they refused. AirBnB did assist a little with this, but not much. I would NOT ever rent from BlueBird Day. I can't believe how badly they treat their guests. They have no concern for the safety of children and were not compassionate in any regard.

There were 13 of us plus a toddler staying there and there was more than enough room for all. The property is every bit as nice as advertised. We rowed around Baker Pond, enjoyed the hot tub, toasted marshmallows at the fire pit, and cooked meals in the kitchens - yes, there are two of them. Baker Pond teems with wildlife and it is a joy to just sit and watch the birds and fish and insects interact among the reeds & listen to the annoying (not to me) frogs at night. The several pantries were very well stocked with more items than one would have expected. Our toddler grand son, had so much fun, and the wire fence/gate was the perfect height for him, to not get too close to the water! (I think he also got a tiny bit of a finger shock, while touching the gate/light wires, since he removed his fingers so fast with big eyes and open mouth!) Our guests reported a few complaints: The microwave in the main kitchen worked erratically and should be replaced - fortunately, there was a spare in the second kitchen; there was a weird smell in the upstairs bathroom; the garage bathroom ran out of hot water for showers; in the bathroom closest to the main living area, the sink faucet location causes the area around it to be sopping wet and the sliding shower door was out of its groove. Those problems are all correctable and don't prevent me from highly recommending a stay there. I couldn't figure out how to use the shower, so I bathed with washcloth & water! The walk, more like a tiny hike to the arbor, in your Sunday's best outfit/shoes were too awkward, but we managed! (Hint: Add a flat walking area to the arbor or a small dock for a boat to the arbor?) Our stay here was in the 70's, and my perfect weather to be outdoors or being on a boat by myself. It was as close to heaven as possible! Thank you for a fabulous time!! We will be back for sure!!
