Very comfortable king bed, nicely decorated, clean and quiet. It is walking distance to a wonderful coffee/bakery the Tumalo Coffeehouse, Mexican restaurant, pizzeria, gas station, organic grocery store. I noticed a lot of bicyclists on the road and heard it is a stopping point for many bike routes in the area. Just up the main highway there is the larger shopping center with Trader Joe's and downtown Bend is only about 10 minutes from there. I heard you can float the Deschutes river in the summertime from the Tumalo State Park down to the little town of Tumalo, so will have to try that next time. I would recommend this highly to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable pet friendly lodge in the area. Jan in San Diego

The gas station across the street was so noisy at times I could not sleep...Diesel engines idling for hours in front of this rental. The deck which was falling apart had furniture with wire slats and no cushions that fit. The BBQ grate was rusty, filthy and full of insect webs. The backyard looked like a rubbish dump. My recommendation is FIND ANOTHER PLACE! This is no bargain.

We returned to Eagle Crest on an Interval International exchange using our Kona Coast Resort unit…read more Eagle Crest is a large project and it's a little confusing about which projects are managed by what company, so I am specifically reviewing the Worldmark Resort property and should not be applied to any other hotels or resorts at Eagle Crest. We have stayed at several Worldmark properties in the past, and this is our definite favorite. First off we were able to fly directly into Redmond from SFO, avoiding a two drive from Portland as that's how we came last time. The airport is small but that's a plus as far as we were concerned, and our Costco rental car from Budget was fine. Our check in was easy and Kiyah was a great rep for Worldmark. We got a text from her a few minutes after we were in the unit asking how things were, and that was a nice touch. The 2 bedroom 2 bath unit was perfect. We own two vacation rentals and live in Kona and are appreciative of a job well done. Everything was immaculate, and it seemed like it had been recently updated. I had called the week before, asking for a unit on the Deschutes river side, and we happily had an end unit with a great view. The gal I spoke with was friendly and let me know that checkin had moved so I had a google map address which made it easy to find. The kitchen had everything one could ask for and more. The dishwasher was the only appliance that needs retirement lol. The bedroom with attached bath and a work desk was excellent. It was relaxing to take a long hot bath in a huge tub after a long flight. We used the Weber grill on the patio three times during the week we were there. The Sisters meat market in Redmond is well worth a visit. One word of warning for people that have problems with stairs: this is a multi floor unit. You enter at one level and go down a flight of stairs to the living room and kitchen and one bedroom with two twins. From the entry you go up a flight to the main bedroom with huge bath/shower and king bed. So there are lots of stairs if you are going up and down from the living room (which is so cozy with the gas fireplace) up to the main bedroom. I'd find someplace else that had less stairs if that's a criteria. I'm typing this as I use the fast 500 mbps (ookala speedtest) internet and we are streaming from our ipad all of our regular addictions. My one complaint, and it is a major one, is the horrible cheap mattresses. There were far too firm, and terrible for both of our backs, resulting in back and neck aches. Perhaps they'd sourced them from a cheap manufacturer, but saving money on mattresses is foolish especially these days when you are judged on how comfortable a nights sleep is. We managed to survive by taking the comforters from the twins and placing them across the king mattress where our hips and shoulders were aching and then got a couple more blankets from housekeeping. It helped, but not enough. We fortunately were staying in an airbnb the following week with a fantastic mattress and the contrast was stunning. I complained about this on our last visit, hopefully with the management change that happened in the summer they will allocate funds to refresh a crucial part of the guest experience, a restful nights sleep. Again, this is a Worldmark exchange and should not be confused with any other property at Eagle Crest. Interval International exchanges have different rules and costs and things like internet access are included. Your experience without being an II member or Worldmark owner may be very different. We exchanged a week in a beautiful timeshare in Kona to stay here and were quite happy. For us, this is one of our favorites and we will definitely be back. Mahalo.

Been coming here for 25 years...probably not again.

This place treated us like actual people, not just another room number…read more They kept us on the first floor, accepted our cats without making it a huge issue, and the staff was genuinely kind from the start. Not fake customer service nice actually caring. They wanted to know what was going on with us and treated us with understanding instead of judgment. Our car's transmission ended up blowing in the parking lot while we were there, and that could've made an already stressful situation way worse. Instead, they were patient and understanding, even when we had to extend our stay for extra days. That mattered more than they probably realize. The coffee was good enough that I kept going back for more, which says a lot because hotel coffee is usually terrible. The kitchen setup was great too and made things a lot easier while dealing with everything going on. Overall, just a solid place all around with good people behind it.

However the day we were supposed to leave our cars transmission failed and we were stranded. They were very accommodating to us having to get all our stuff from our car and bring it into the room, very kind to be understanding for the extra nights. My kids kept coming down to talk to the folks up front. My youngest enjoyed cleaning the room. We kept it fairly clean. :) One of the cleaners left a note saying how wonderful my kids were :) Very awesome place. Amazing coffee. Had no problems with me grabbing coffee all the time. Lol I lived off it. Good people. Clean hotel. Reliable. I would definitely stay here if your ever in bend. Always met with smiles and understanding.

What a lovely, quaint little motel just on the edge of the downtown area of Sisters. In fact, it's…read morean easy walk to tons of shops, restaurants, and bars. And you're really close to an amazing view of the Three Sisters Mountains. The rooms are comfy, open, and spacious. I opted for the Deluxe King Suite with Kitchenette and loved it. The bed was very comfortable, and I felt right at home here. I even saw some deer hanging out next to the property, which I see often at home. This property also has a courtyard area with a fire pit, hot tub, and cold tub. My air-conditioned room had 2 TVs, one for each room, which was nice. The free, Wi-Fi was also nice, but the extra touch was the various cables they had in the room--great for people who forget to bring that one thing they really needed. I would definitely stay in this establishment again.

Stayed here for 2 nights during a side trip to Bend. It is just off Highway 97 and a short walk to…read moredowntown. The lobby is nice, the folks manning the front desk were ok, but the ladies that take care of breakfast are the sweetest and nicest ever. They actually have a pretty decent breakfast with quiche and other items you don't usually see at other locations. They are pet friendly with grassy areas around the hotel. Why the low rating, you ask? The main problem was the shower curtain which barely touches the top of the tub. It defeats the purpose of having one unless you want to flood the bathroom floor. It's an accident/lawsuit waiting to happen. I almost slipped getting out of the shower, not realizing that the floor was very wet. Talked to the front desk about it and they said that someone ordered the wrong size so all their bathrooms all have the same shower curtains. They are apparently still waiting for the correct size to be delivered. It was frustrating. My other gripe was, we were originally assigned a 1st floor room facing the highway on the app, so I called and asked if they could give us a high floor room away from the highway. Got to the hotel, lady assured me they have assigned us a room on the 2nd floor, away from the noise. We get into our room and right outside our window was Highway 97. It's been a long day so I did not bother asking for a different room. It was not bad but it still sucks. This is an ok hotel but with the problems we encountered I don't think we will be staying here again.

My honey found the Tudor Inn on Airbnb and booked us the beautiful Crown Suite for two nights…read more (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4203538) It was considerably less expensive than if we had stayed at one of the hotels nearby. Upon booking, you are provided all the necessary details via e-mail, including parking information and the code for the front door. This is a self check-in sort of thing, which works for me. The owner is readily available, via text, although we didn't need to contact her because everything was just fine. The downstairs of the inn includes multiple sitting rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. We definitely took advantage of the fridge and freezer during our stay. There are three guest rooms upstairs. Two share a bathroom at the end of the hall and our room had a gorgeous private bath. There is also a private cottage in the back of the property. (I do recommend earplugs, if you are a light sleeper.) The Crown Suite has plenty of room, including a king size bed, sitting chair, built-in table and bench seats, and a large TV. The bathroom is separated by a large, sliding barn door. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. The clawfoot tub was especially enjoyable after a long day of hiking and beer drinking. The bed was quite comfortable. They don't provide breakfast on site, although an ample morning meal is provided at their sister inn, The Mill Inn, which is an easy 10-15 minute walk (or very short drive) from Tudor Inn. (I'll post a separate review of breakfast.) Tudor Inn is located in the heart of downtown with many breweries, restaurants, and shops, as well as Drake Park and Mirror Lake within walking distance. This was a great "home base" for our time in Bend and I would definitely enjoy staying here again!

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in the Cascade Lakes area. It is pretty far from Bend, but…read moreworth it if you have the time. The campground itself is pretty similar to what you might find at the other Hoodoo ran campgrounds, though it always feels a bit cleaner than the rest. The sites come with running water, shared bathrooms, picnic tables, fire rings, and a parking space. You will want to bring plenty of cash for the fees and if you bring more than one vehicle you will need to pay extra. This campground is right next to the lake and has an awesome trail that runs around the perimeter of the lake. There is a boat ramp at the end of the lake and if you just have paddle boards and kayaks you can just launch them right by your campsite. In addition to the boat ramp, there is a very nice shallow swim area. This has a gradual slope that allows the sun to warm the water up pretty fast. Overall I would say that this campground is slightly nicer than the other campgrounds in the Cascades, but the location is what really pull it up to five stars. When I have the time and money, this is my preferred campground.
