It's a bummer this campground isn't nicer - it has so much potential!! We stayed in June 2026 and the pool is definitely under construction. (No water in it and they just put up a new fence around it.) They have a playground which is nice, but it's just 4 swings (2 for babies) and a climbing structure. It looks like they took out 3 tennis courts and have 6 pickleball courts. They look pretty new and we had fun using them on our stay! The put-put golf course is still there, but it's looking pretty old. We did't notice anyone using it. There are baskets for a disc golf course, but I didn't see any info on it. I am guessing it's 9 holes. Maybe less? You can check out pickle ball racquets and balls at the office! They also have discs and golf clubs and balls. Just know you have to check out items before 4:30 when the office closes. This campground is quite large. Like previous reviewers the signage is horrible!! No directional exit signs, no loop signs on every loop entrance, and no obvious/easy to read signs with the site letter & number on it. It takes time to find your campsite! We were in loop K and we didn't like it a ton. There isn't a lot of trees/brush in between the sites like other loops and we had 3 other sites surrounding us. Pretty cool that it's on the Little Deschutes! When we arrived on a Friday night at 7pm, the office let us know that the water was off and would be on soon. We finally had water around 9:30pm! (I guess the water is an issue a lot - per other reviews.) I don't think we would stay at this campground again - but if they make some improvements, just its location would convince us to give it another try! read more

This campground is in poor condition. Most of the facilities are closed (store, pool, recreation room). The bathrooms are cleaned every 3 or 4 days. It is a depressing place. read more

Directions around campground and spots are poorly marked. Drove around for 30 mins just to find our spot. When we finally found it, our trailer would not fit. Drove back to office to ask for a spot that would fit our 40 ft trailer, which is what we made the reservation for. Office thought we had a pickup camper. He couldn't accommodate us. Unfortunately there were two other people complaining about their spots as well. This is sad because it could be a really nice campground if they improved directions around the campgrounds and paid attention to what people booked with the size of their RV's. read more

It pains me to write this as we've been staying at this park for about 3 years and loved it. The park is not loved by the manager here and it shows. Trees often fall onto RVs, vehicles, and other property because they will not have people come out to cut them. Their plow vehicle was stolen when they left it running unattended and they have not been plowing the 8-12 inches of snow we get so vehicles are getting stuck. They always have an excuse as to why they can't hire a 3rd party plower.. but the reality is this is ridiculous. The maintenance workers seem to never be working in the park, the manager seems to never be in, but make excuses why they can't get the job done. They are going to run this beautiful park into the ground. That being said, the cleaning crew works very hard. The showers are always clean and they even shovel a pathway to the door. read more

The best part was sites are very large and level. But a lot of amenities were in very bad shape. Store closed, no vending machines. The showers had two together and not private or clean. Housekeeping could be better as next to our site was old clothes and underwear on the ground and an abandoned girls bike. read more

We have been here twice, July and August 2020. The pool and other amenities were closed, of course , so I have no idea what it is like when everything is running This is by far my favorite of the Thousand Trails resorts. The river access (little Deschutes) in the park is so fun for anyone with kids. Short enough drive into Bend and other trails, lakes, and fun things to do. This park also has perfect phone service and free WiFi throughout, which has not been the case for us at other Thousand Trails properties. My only complaint is that we weren't aware that we couldn't use a charcoal BBQ until we arrived. We had to run to town to buy a propane BBQ. I understand the no-fire rule, but it is poorly enforced. We saw several camp fires while we sat shivering around a dark fire pit. I definitely recommend having a car for this campground. I expected Uber service since it is close to a city, but there is none. read more

What a hellhole. How can a publicly traded company leave asset in decay like this? I feel sorry for everyone else who paid full price for a "membership", and even worse for people who pay retail prices to stay here. What a joke of a company. I can understand the COVID 19 restrictions. No pool, no horse shoes, no water activities. Even the no campfires..but this garbage is probably causing more bacteria than COVID..when asked about the pick up the curt reply was "maybe today". The smell is atrocious. The guy across from us said they said that on Friday. The bathrooms aren't great but they have brought in porta potties. read more

What a sad excuse for a campground. Spent two days in an RV without full hookups. Why? Run down, poorly maintained, the grounds haven't seen a weed eater or mower in years. This is a wasted opportunity being so close to Sunriver to really make an exceptional location. You are better off skipping this. read more

In the 3-4 months I've been staying here there have been multiple days of running water being shut off (both at sites and communal bathrooms) and a couple weeks worth of boil advisories when water is running. If you're coming here, I would highly recommend having a full tank of water upon arrival, your own shower and flushing toilet (if having a reliable place to poop is important to you), a water filtration system/extra propane to boil all of your own water. I understand water issues arise and I have tried to maintain having patience, but this morning is the the 3rd time I walked to the bathroom while nature was calling (yelling might be more accurate) only to find the bathroom locked. The first time it was closed there was no prior notice and a red sign on the door only read "temporarily closed". I went to two other bathrooms to find them closed before finally calling the office and finding out the water would be off for DAYS because it was a weekend and they couldn't find someone to come out to fix it, nor could they find someone to bring a port-a-potty. At 9:30am yesterday I walked over to the bathroom to find it locked and an inconspicuous sign off to the side said running water would be shut off from 9am-12pm -- quite annoying given that I had been over to the bathroom at 10pm the night before and there wasn't a sign. Today was the final straw though. I walked over at 10:30am this morning to find the bathroom STILL locked. No new sign indicating what was going on. I called the office and they said it would be on in another 30 minutes. Let's see.. there's plenty of campers in the park, you shut the water off in the morning time, do not give adequate notice, AND don't arrange to have some kind of alternate bathroom situation even though you knew this would happen ahead of time? If I had known water would be shut off ahead of time, I would have planned to go elsewhere. It's not like you have a store down the street to walk over to. The nearest store that has a bathroom is a 10-15 minute drive away. Thanks to Thousand Trails' very poor planning, I have had the humiliating experience of going #2 in a plastic bag... 3 times. Aside from the water? There are bunnies EVERYWHERE. So is their poop and sometimes entrails from predators that catch a snack. Dog owners beware. My dogs are consistently barking our our trailer windows or darting out to the end of their leashes on walks. An employee said that he has seen dogs chase and kill these bunnies, so families with young children might not enjoy that "entertainment" much. Why should the bunny problem be TT's responsibility? Because they're domestic, not wild. According to one employee, another employee purposely let his bunny go in the park and, doing what bunnies do, they have since multiplied. Although the camping rules state "do not feed the animals", people continue to throw food out to them and leave water bowls. Last time I walked over to the country store, they had laid hay down for them with a little shelter and water. There were adults and babies coming out from under the porch leading to the door. I'm generally an animal lover, but when I'm out in my campsite I don't want bunnies hopping right up to my feet thinking they're going to get something from me. I'd much rather enjoy the company of my dogs, but that doesn't get to happen. Aside from water and bunnies, the wi-fi here (paid for separately) is sub-par and goes down for some stretch of time every 2-3 days. I'm not the only one with the issue because another person's hot spot pops up in my networks almost every time I have to use mine. If reliable internet is important to you, I would highly recommend having your own hot spot. It's a quiet place here and a nice setting, but unless you're self sufficient, I'd recommend staying at an RV/Trailer park in Bend or La Pine. read more

Well, we liked this place well enough to spend the night on our way to Idaho and then we spent the night again on our way home from Idaho. The campground is wooded. This was nice after being in RV parks that are more like parking lots. My husband and kiddoes took our boogie boards down to the river and had a nice float. The stars were amazing after dark. The bathrooms were clean and usable. The first spot we pulled into had no water, so we moved. We dumped here even though there were no sewer connections in the spots. The dump station was easy to use for us, even though we are novices. All the services were shut down, so I can't comment on that. But they did have food trucks set up if you wanted to get a meal to go. read more

We stayed here for a Christmas adventure. The bathrooms were very tidy, the spots were very spacious. The country store was nice and the employees were super friendly and totally up to hear about the weird things we saw (we saw a trail of satellites one night). Our dogs were welcome as well. We had a picnic table and a fire pit in our site which was a nice surprise compared to some other places we have stayed. There was a little Western town that looked like a fun play space for kids when the weather is warmer. The location was wonderful for exploring Bend, SunRiver and the neighboring areas. The only reason we are giving it 4 out of 5 stars is because we knew that some of the other Thousand Trails had activities going on for Christmas and this one didn't. read more

Park was under a boil water mandate due to bacteria in their water system. We only found out when we just happened to check the out the laundry room and saw a notice posted there, only there. We were not notified prior to our arrival nor when we checked in, though we were given 3 sheets of rules. I went to the office to confirm the boil water mandate was still in effect, it was and he gave me a copy. He said it happens regularly. I found it dishonest that we weren't given this information in a timely manner so we could protect ourselves. We made other arrangements and left. I wouldn't go back because of their deceptive behavior. read more

Very disappointing visit. We stayed in a cabin for 2 days and I regret spending that much $. It was cute and people were nice but floors were dirty and the whole campground was run down. No one was enjoying any of the amenities as they were all in poor shape. They need to do A LOT of upgrades and repairs. We will not stay here again. read more

We haven't stayed at this location yet, so I will update with that review...but had to review customer service I received this far. A friend and I are doing our first road trip and rented a camper van. We reserved a tent site at Sunriver without realizing we would not be able to pull up with our camper van (we had reserved a tent site earlier in the trip at a non thousand trails location and were able to pull right into the tent site with the van - so since we are newbies to this camping world, thought that was the same everywhere. I called Sunriver and Liz was able to switch our reservation over to an RV site with no problem...which was impressive and amazing considering almost all parks in the area including Sunriver are sold out!! Thank you Liz for all your help!! Liz was quick, thorough and answered all my questions without any hesitation! Liz saved our trip. This is definitely a lesson learned for us for our next trip. Looking forward to staying at the park!! read more

This campground is not paved. Which is fine except for what they are charging. Very dusty. Also, the pool is closed even though everywhere else near here has theirs open. Lady at the checkin was obviously frustrated and not very welcoming. read more

While we were away from our site a tree fell on our RV. The campground removed the tree. They neglected to notify us while we were gone. We came home to our motorhome with a hole in the roof and water damage inside. When confronted, the staff were indifferent and unhelpful and annoyed. Highly unacceptable. Also, upon further inspection there were and continued to be when we left plentiful dead or dying standing trees that should be cut down before the next windstorm. Finally, I wrote an email to Thousand Trails corporate headquarters concerning this issue that garnered no action nor reply. Highly unimpressed with both this company and Thousand Trails. As a new-member I will not be renewing my membership. read more

I stayed at this resort in a deluxe yurt with some friends. We wanted to get away for Memorial Day weekend and found availability here. Pro: The yurt was really nice. They had the small kitchen nicely stocked with new kitchen wear. They were some minor maintenance things that maybe need some attention eventually, but over all it worked for a nice place to crash for the night. Cons: Even though we mostly spent time in Bend mountain biking, we did attempt to utilize some of the amenities they offer. Problem was is that everything is pretty much shut down at 9:00pm. When trying to get information on when things were open, every staff member that we spoke to didn't know a thing about the resort. The people that ran the place pretty much just lounge around out of sight all day in their gate house, otherwise everyone is pretty clueless on the operations of the resort. The other thing that I was disappointed about was their recreational equipment. I didn't get the chance to use any of it, but it looked rough. They haven't done much of anything to improve that which is really unfortunate for the price we paid to stay there. They have the potential to make this resort better, but they don't seem really invested let alone interested in doing that. So to conclude, I would probably never go back. It did make for a good "base camp", but that was pretty much it. If you want a resort with nice amenities, I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more
