So much so that a bicycle manufacturer knows about it. I broke my chain whip on a Monday evening and decided to try and new shop on a whim and ran over to pull a cassette off a wheel. These guys took care of it instantly. Three days later, I was having some bake issues and within an hour of drop off, one of their lead techs was already on the phone with Sram having a replacement overnighted. Multiple times back, never fixed the problem. The last time they tried to upsell him a whole new drivetrain for $1500. Took it to another shop in town, and they said derailleur was grossly out of alignment and wore out his chain and cassette. So basically PB was gaslighting BF for 2 years saying nothing was wrong when the bike was set up like trash from day one. Obviously they are not competent mechanics or they would have fixed this immediately. Instead they just wanted more parts business by letting him destroy his bike.
