I've had my eyebrows threaded for the past ten years because the ripping away of waxing caused too much pain and left me with welts. Cassandra was very gentle and I didn't even wince once. She is very professional with a sweet demeanor and I really appreciate that she didn't try and "upsell" me for product or other services. I want y'all to know that people have bad hair days. But I also have bad eyebrow days. Like, some days when I have no idea what I'm doing, when one is short and fat and the other is long and thin. I hate doing my eyebrows. Hate it. Yesterday, I went in to your West Covina location, sans appointment to ask about pricing. I paid $33 for my eyebrows to be waxed and sculpted, and my lip waxed. That's an excellent price, especially for me to have a professional fix my eyebrows. My professional was Robin. Let me tell you, I get stuck with a lot of rushed, surly workers to do anything from my eyebrows (threading) to my nails. I hate it. I don't expect someone to entertain me, but that awkward space between stilted conversation leaves a sort of bonding cut short. Robin reminds me of my hairdresser, whom I followed from her previous place of employment because my husband and I loved her skills and her personality. Robin laughed with me, she advised me, with knowledge, not like she's trying to sell me the most expensive product, but like she was trying to save my from myself (thank God, I don't buy makeup, so she was my damn savior). She was able to show me where I went wrong with my plucking, what needed to be grown out, how to outline and fill in. Basic stuff for some women, but I'm not one of them, so it was so, so wonderful of Robin to not make me feel like an idiot for asking those questions. I'll be back every month for a touch up from Robin, because a) I like not having to do it myself, but mostly b) it's nice to experience a professional artist who wants to ply her skill and teach others how do it, too. It's close, convenient and amazing. My brows are incredible, and even when I've managed to over tweeze them myself, Yvette is a magician and somehow makes them look AMAZING. I called on Friday to ask if I needed to schedule an appt to have my eyebrows done and the person I spoke with said I didn't have to. So my friend and I drove from monrovia to West Covina because the brow bar in Arcadia currently does not have an esthetician. We get there and we are told that we cannot be seen because she they are full and they could see us around 3. Cassandra seemed very cocky and didn't even turn to talk to us she had what seemed her helpers talk to us. I requested to speak to the manager and she came over and was very nice. Unfortunately we couldn't stay to wait because we had another appointment to get to. I understand that if they are busy they can't take walk-ins but I think what pissed me off the lost is how cocky Cassandra seemed which sucks because the people at the santa Anita mall recommended her. I got brow and lip wax and OMG almost no pain and she even went a little up inside my nose so those little hairs that grow connect to our MOOSTACHE were gone! & she was very gentle attentive. Think I'm officially giving up on this brow bar...:/ As much as I've WANTED to love it, I can't. I've been coming here pretty consistently for about 2 yrs. My go-to gal who was also a salon owner in Walnut retired after many years and she did my brows perfectly, every time, for $9. Waaaaah! So after trying a few different places, waxing or threading, a few dislikes & some meh's, I decided to leave my brows in the hands of Benefit. They do a good job, at least they BETTER, for $20! The problem with this location is they CAN NOT keep their esthetician (yes, there's only ONE at any given time). I've seen 3 (or maybe it's 4 now) come and go, all good, but they leave within 6 months! Then they have weird hours, not the same as the store. They work from Wed-Sun, maybe. But if they call off, have a meeting, go on vacation..whatever...there's no one to take that person's place. I can't believe Macy's/Benefit conduct business as such! When you call to make an appt or double -check that someone is there that day to do a walk-in, you get a gal from another counter answer their phone & they have no idea what the esthetician's schedule is or her name! So you have to call several times prior to each appt, unless you just HAPPEN to get lucky - walk in & someone is actually there to take you. So today I call, am told Evette (the latest girl) is on maternity leave, and whoever answered wasn't from Benefit (of course!) and has no idea who the person is taking her place. "Call back tomorrow." Yeah...uhh-huh...:( Buh-bye West Covina Benefit Brow Bar!!! *I'm reminded by someone to try Ulta, as they have a BBB. I called Glendora and someone is there daily from noon to close. At least that sounds consistent. Maybe. Maybe not. Will keep you posted. read more

I made an appointment to get my brows done on my birthday. The first time I called I was hung up on. I called again and the girl said she would have to check with the girl that does brows so she will give me a call back after. I waited 2 hours and still no call back so I called her back. I was told there were no such calls. I was very frustrated because I used to live in Norcal and I had no problems until I moved down here. I used to go to to the brow bar in city of industry at the Ulta store but my usual person ended up moving to a different store further so I was really scared to try someone new.
