We called Bonito the morning of the afternoon he was scheduled to come to our house to confirm he was still coming. When I told him who I was, we got disconnected. I called him back immediately, and he didn't pick up and I left a voice message. I also texted him, and he ignored our attempts to contact him. Finally, after waiting hours, he replied to my text requesting to reschedule the following week. We agreed. The following week, once again I called Bonito in the morning that he was scheduled to come to our house to work. Bonito confirmed he would be coming at 2:30. When Bonito did not show up at my house, I called and texted him and got no reply. I want to warn other homeowners NOT to do business with BONITO GARDENING because he's not reliable. It's frustrating and disappointing that you cannot rely on Bonito to show up after he agreed to do the work. I wasted 2 weeks waiting for Bonito because he seemed like he was sincere and wanted the job. I hope taking the time to do this review helps others. I had made a deal with Benito to begin servicing my yard starting today. Unfortunately he was a no show and also did not return my text messages. When I dialed his number he answered the phone and then hung up on me. I don't understand why he would treat clients like this. The team at Benito's Gardening are hard-working, knowledgeable and friendly -- three traits my wife and I look for when I need a good gardener to trust with my home/yard. We contacted Benito's through Yelp when I needed to redo my front yard. We were searching for a company who knew what was needed and had a fair price for the amount of work involved (a lot of work!) - and Benito's answered the call. From the start, communication was great. First, it was obvious both Benito Jr. and Benito Sr., know landscaping and gardening really well. Also, when visited to review our yard and confirm the cost estimate, they provided helpful and sound options for us to consider. After my approval, Benito Jr. was always reachable via phone and text - which is great for confirming details and getting answers to questions. The overall goal was to change the front of the house to a low maintenance / water saving / modern yard. We settled on a 2 day landscaping project, beginning the following week. Day 1 was the removal of the existing grass and renewal of the soil. The crew were on time and wrapped within a couple hours. They cleaned up the yard really well and set expectations for their next visit a few days later. On Day 2, Benito's completed the new layout, brought in the new rocks, stones and plants. Another day of a thoughtful and considerate crew who worked diligently and cleaned up at the end of their day. Project done! Our front yard is now PERFECT. It is exactly what we were looking for and more. Benito Jr. and crew are great. They are super helpful and if you have questions, they will provide answers to help reach the goal. Wow, my husband and I are truly impressed! We just moved into a new home a little over a week ago and the yard and landscaping was needing a lot of work. The gardener who had previously maintained the property (and not all that well, if we're being honest) refused to respond to my texts, and we were in a bit of a pickle -- the yard needed TLC FAST. So I sent out a blast on Yelp to a few gardeners. Benito was the only one among them who responded positively and enthusiastically, almost within an hour or two. He came by that day to give an estimate (and wore a mask, which we appreciated because we are still taking the pandemic seriously). He almost immediately diagnosed a problem in the sprinklers which had caused the lawn to be unevenly watered (which we hadn't even thought of), and gave us a very reasonable estimate to fix the sprinklers and do the clean-up work, including palm trees. He came today with his team to do the job and they did amazing! The yard, trees, and shrubs look neat and clean and the lawn is on its way to looking even and green. We were so pleased at how fast, efficiently and professionally they worked. Benito is courteous and polite, and was willing to answer all of our questions. If there are issues that occur going forward, I'll update the review, but at the moment, I'm just nothing but pleased and grateful to Benito and his team for a job very well done. read more

Extremely responsive until they get paid. Then they are out and won't get back to you. Benito and his crew installed sprinklers and drip lines in my front yard and leveled / placed rocks in my back yard. 2 of the sprinklers were shooting out water on day 1, while they were still working on the back yard. So they fixed it. The following day 2 drip lines were shooting out water. They forgot to place clips on each section, causing it to rip open each time the system gets turned on. Saturday he promised that someone would show up to fix this Sunday. No one showed, and from there on I got ghosted. No return texts or calls. Additionally they placed drip lines with holes under the concrete, which cause the concrete to break apart. They were extremely cheap about basic supplies as well. They didn't want to lay tarp under the rocks because of cost of the $20 roll of tarp. I insisted they lay it and they did, but they didn't tick it in properly so now, not even a week later the dirt is exposed and contaminating the rocks. Making it look muddy. The work looks good on day 1, but that's about it. I'd say only hire these guys if: 1. You know exactly how the job needs to be completed and 2. You have the time to supervise them as they are doing the work to verify they are placing the correct parts in. I spent $3,100 with these guys and it all turned to shit because they tried to save 50 bucks on supplies. read more

Selling my house and needed my palm trees trimmed on short notice due to another company flaking out on me. Benito's gardening came to the rescue offering to not only trim my trees but also my other landscaping and lay down mulch at a very reasonable price. They communicated clearly and were extremely responsive. They even agreed to work on a Sunday so I'd meet my deadline! They worked fast and did a fantastic job ! The only complaint I had was they were slightly short in mulch and a few areas didn't get covered well. They promised me they'd return the next day to add a bit more but never showed. I was surprised because they had up until then given fantastic service. In spite of that little flaw I still think they deserve your business I'm sure you won't be disappointed! read more

Benito showed up on time and gave me an estimate to replace my sprinkler control box and repair a few broken sprinkler heads. For some reason, the next day after his installation, there was no power to the control box. I called him to resolve the situation. He insisted that it should be working. It is then that I discovered that he wired my sprinkler control box to my outdoor lighting that I turn off at night. Lights off no sprinklers,,,,lights on sprinklers worked. Benito SR and JR are excellent! Benito JR responds to text and phone call - either answers or calls you back in perfect English. They do what they say they are going to do, show up on time and get the work done. Benitor SR especially knows plants and revived most of what I was going to cut down and replant. Their price was neither the highest nor the lowest but definitely well worth it and the best gardeners I've had. And the work is done by Benito JR and SR not by some unknown persons who show up after you hire the gardener like so many I've dealt with in the past. Found the services here, Benito came to my home couple of times, gave me the estimate to install sprinkler system. Horrible work, I tried reaching him and every time I talk to him he said will come at certain time but never showed up. Took my money and now no where to be found, not answering calls not responding to my messages either. As a nice human being, I even made a stop payment on the check because he gave me incorrect address and I turned around and resent the check which was cashed in 2 days. These kind of people are not trust worthy. I don't recommed him or his services to anyone. He made so many promises that he will come and fix the issue but never came back once.
