Louis MC was working on a neighbors yard and we asked if they could quote us on trimming one palm tree. Removing 4 fronds and 2 seed pods. They came to our home and quoted $150 and said they would be over after finishing the neighbors (3pm). Time came and went, my wife called 4 times and sent a text message. We got a response at 4:30pm (an hour and a half later) saying that they now want to charge use $200. When we got the response, we could see that he viewed our original message at 3:15, but chose not to respond and tell us they would be late or try and raise the quote price. My wife responded to his message and said absolutely not. We do not do business with companies that have poor communication and try to raise their quote that they gave on the same day, no call/ no show..... How do these guys have any good reviews? I needed some very over grown trees trimmed. I also had one removed due to some rodents that had moved into it. So, it was an urgent request. I received a text back right away (on a Sunday) and they came out a few hours later to quote the work. They were able to come out today (Monday) to complete the job. BEWARE! Their services may or may not be good, I don't know. But I do know even though their business license says "Fully licensed and insured" they are NOT. Their business card does not list their license number, the Contractors State License Board does not show them listed and he will not give his license # to you when you ask for it. I hired Louis in 2017 to remove vines around the perimeter of the fence in my backyard, remove two ficus trees, remove two citrus trees, trim down junipers and trim down another tree on the side of my home. He did a phenomenal job and got the job done quickly. So two years later I decided to give him a call to help trim a tree that is growing too tall and too wide. I also wanted his help to shape the junipers since there were some falling branches. We scheduled to meet on a Thursday at 5pm. He was a no show. Turns out, I did not give him my address nor did he bother to confirm my address even though the time was set. I thought that was weird as usually someone will ask for the address when an appointment is set. So we had to reschedule because he was in la habra and he wouldn't make it to foothill ranch by 5pm. We rescheduled for the next day, a Friday afternoon at 4pm because I had work. Louis texts me at 2pm to let me know that he is at my house even though we had stated that we will meet at 4pm. I told him I was still at work and would not be home till 4pm. I quickly tried to rush home from work that day and got there by 3:30pm. I sent over a text to Louis and he showed up at my door a little after. I showed him the tree I needed to trim and he seemed annoyed that it was not as much of a money making job as the last gig because he said in an annoyed tone "just one tree?" As if the trimming of my tree was not worth his drive down to foothill ranch. He quoted me $300 to trim the tree and we met with an agreement of $250 which as you will soon see is way overpriced. I was inside my home and received a text around 4:43pm from Louis asking "everything okay?" I then realized he had already left which again, was weird. Why would you ask me is everything okay AFTER you had left? Wouldn't you check my approval before leaving? I go out to see the tree and it looks like it has been barely trimmed. Yes, he trimmed the top of the tree which we agreed on but the sides and the bottom of the tree do not look trimmed at all. The branches and the leaves are touching the side of the house! I had stated that I wanted my tree trimmed a lot so I won't have to trim it again for another year (till next summer). I don't think this will last me till the end of the year. It'll quickly grow back to a wild height and width. Lastly, it was a hot day and Louis asked me for some water. I gave him and his 2 employees 3 bottles of water. I really don't appreciate going to my backyard to find empty water bottles on top of my grill (see picture) and thrown on the ground by my house. There was a trash can just 3 feet away from where they were working. Either have the courteousy to throw away your trash or take it with you. As much as I appreciate and understand the hustle since everyone needs to make a living, I feel Louis's mentality is not in the right place. Everything is much too rushed and attention to details and quality of work are now lacking. read more

I called Louis and he was able to came out to give me a quote 30 mins later! He was friendly and open to price negotiation as well. He and his crew did a superb job trimming down 6 big trees around my house as discussed. The job took 3 hours including cleanup, but for some reason his team disappeared for a good hour and a half after that with the truck still parked in the front. Total cost for the job was $600, which sounds fair considering one of the big tree costed $120 for trimming before from a different landscaper. Some things I would suggest could be improved: 1/ Wear protective gears (respirator, glove, etc) 2/ Have some kind of paperwork write up/ invoice. I needed some major work done all around my house. From palm tree clean up to removing palm and ficus tress. Even cutting back trees from our home. Louis returned my initial call within a few minutes and arranged a time to quote within a couple hours. He reviewed the entire property and made suggestions, giving me a final, detailed written quote. The next day, he arrived at the exact time with a truck to haul away the debris and 4 additional men. He estimated that they'd be done at 4 and, sure enough, at 4, they were cleaning up. In one day, they trimmed five large palms, removed 4 others, removed 10 ficus trees including roots, removed three giant bird of paradise plants and trimmed several trees by our roofline. They removed every bit of debris (two runs to dump) and swept, blew and washed down the areas. Louis was even cleaning my pool.
