What was once a compassionate office that cared about animals, seems to now only care about the bottom dollar. We were first turned away when we voiced concerns about our cat who had a stomach procedure done started to drop weight fast and drool from her mouth shortly after. We were told they didn't have time and to go to Williamston. Upon arriving there they discovered her mouth full of cancer and were shocked she had just been at dvh so recently.. She was put to sleep the same day due to her pain. We made the decision to go back against our better judgement, but because I'd been going there for as long as I've been in DeWitt. Which brings us to today. Our 3 year old cat has been being checked regularly for what they deemed ibs through multiple blood test, one of which they encouraged us to send out to a specialist for over $300. No problem, I'll spend that to make sure my animal is ok. His face swelled today and he is acting lethargic. I called to see if we could be seen and after explaining symptoms the on site doctor determined there was no time to get him in and encouraged Williamston again. I asked when first appointment was available and was told not until mid December. My animal is suffering and you suggest waiting until then? No thank you. I am done and will never come back. I am so sad that a once amazing office has now decided with their massive building and multiple doctors that long time patients are not important enough for even 5 minutes of a conversation. I'll take the small old office with Dr. Wendy. That was the last time it felt like the priority was animals.

Dr. Rees was very helpful in trying to help us find a diagnosis. Unfortunately, we didn't find one until Macy began having seizures, at which point she needed specialized care at MSU. (She turned out to have a very rare and difficult-to-diagnose disease called GME.) We ended up working with a neurologist in Boston, and Dr. Rees was always very willing to work with him and with our vet at MSU to make Macy's treatment as convenient for us as possible.

Each has been carefully and gently cared for, and when news was bad, or the time had come, they mourned with me. I won't go anywhere else...there are no extraneous tests or procedures done here. Everything is for the good of your pet, but with a dose of common sense as well. The staff and Dr. Fauser are an extension of your pets family, and that is how you and your pet are always treated. When I came for the one week follow up visit I was asked if we needed any supply refills at home. I answered yes we needed more saline solution to flush the wound. I was told that would be $10. I shared my understanding of what the $700 covered and that I live 30min away but with construction it took close to an hour and did not think I needed to bring any money. I was then told that the saline solution is mandatory to keep the area stitched up clean is not free to them and to come back with money otherwise it could be fatal to our rabbit. I was taken back by the fact that she was very curt in admitting that without it our rabbit's life was at risk but didn't care enough to send me home with any. It is just sterile water and salt! Sadly at that moment I realized $10 was more important to them than our rabbit.

I know the routine and know he needs Doxycycline. I was told over the phone that they would hold the appointment outside. So, an employee comes out (she's super short and petite - not sure of her name) and says that she needs to take Bauer inside, and so she does. She comes back five minutes later and confirms it's kennel cough. Then, tells me that she was going to prescribe Doxycycline along with two other medications that were not necessary. Just a simple upcharge. I said I would just take the Doxycycline. She goes back to grab my dog and then comes back out. I load my dog up into my truck. All is well. Then she comes back out to collect payment. I didn't have my card, as it was back in the office. I tell her, I need to come in because my phone does a face read upon scanning. She then says we don't take Apple pay. I asked if I had a card reader. She says yes, and I reply, then you take Apple Pay. She says well, I have Apple Pay too, and I can just take your phone inside. I looked at her with a dumbfounded look cause this girl is not the brightest crayon in the box. I hand her my phone, and she looks at it. It finally clicked for her that she needed my face present for it to work. (I will not reset the settings in my phone for a payment just cause this place is being weird). I then enter the establishment to find four girls huddled around the reception desk, not doing anything. One of them put out the card reader (Kaitlyn). I put my phone over the reader it and my phone then scans my face. Boom! Paid. I then ask them why they have to make it so hard to make a payment, and Kaitlyn replies, "Well, because your dog has kennel cough, and we can't have you in here". I said, correct, my dog has it, but I don't "Obviously." She said yeah, but you interact with him. I said, are you serious? You just brought him inside. She then has nothing to say. Cause yeah, that was dumb. Next, I said, this is why I don't come here, and she said that's my choice. I said it is. Then I mentioned that the parking lot was empty, which is probably a sign that customer service is lacking. She said well, it's after hours, and we still fit you on the schedule. It's 3:30 pm at this point. They close at 5 pm on Fridays. I walked out after getting the receipt. On my way out, I passed a gentleman, and I said, beware, they are assholes. He replied, I know. Then I said, oh snap, another one agrees and left. Terrible service, terrible people, paid $80 for the visit and $9.50 for the meds for same-day. These people are loons and awful regarding customer service and logical thinking. Take your pet anywhere else cause this isn't it. Willoughby is the best! Call them instead.
