The receptionist became irritated and said OMG not under her breath. I feel that was unkind and uncalled for.

Dr. Chang is the first pain management doctor who took the time to see beyond my looks and into how my life has dramatically changed while dealing with excruciating, chronic pain. Dr. Chang gave me something that I had lost a long time ago and that was hope. He showed me my scans and not only explained what we were looking at but then pointed and pressed on the corresponding areas of my body to teach me why I'm having the pain in these areas. He attacks the issue of chronic pain from all sides instead of just writing more prescriptions for the physical symptoms. We have alot of history as today, I am going on my 12th year of being Cancer Free. In the very beginning of my treatment, Dr. Shiffman wanted to go outside of the box, get other oncologists opinions, anything that it would take because my prognois was prettty bad...a few months at the most. From the very first appointment he had me...his warmth was genuine and his determination was strong. I could call the office at anytime of the day with questions...he has a fabulous staff and I get an answer pronto from either the Doctor himself or one of his assistants. Dr, Shiffman held my hand during some very difficult times and decisions. While an Oncologists has to have one of the hardest jobs in the field of medicine, he always greets you with warmth and a generous hug and you, and during that visit, however long it takes, he is all yours 110%. That turned out to be incorrect. Sure, mistakes happen; but I received a bill with zero explanation and hand-written note that said "please pay." Shouldn't the billing person do a little more diligence than that? Shouldn't they work with the insurance company a bit more to figure out what the patient actually owes? Maybe it's emblematic of the huge problems we have with healthcare in our country. Either way, I'm pretty pissed off that I was falsely sent a bill for $345.
