I found her AND other kids on top of the table and even commented why there are kids on top of the table and the young teacher or teacher assistant said "oh we are watching them". I informed Mrs. April and the director the next morning. My daughter was fine with drop off after the first week but started to cry and tug at me and dad after the first week. After the Covid restrictions, you switched to drop offs at the lobby and this went on for a few months but still during those few months...I couldn't get my daughter to come in on her own without crying and refusing to stay with you. Your director was informed an investigator was coming beforehand so she prepped her teachers on how to act to stay in business. I know for a fact she had a meeting with those teachers. You can't explain why my child was putting her hands over her head from your abuse though right? After 2 weeks in the new daycare she learned to trust her teachers and never...never did I struggle with drop off. She changed completely to her happy self and at times asked me and daddy to go home and pick her up later because she felt so safe and happy to be at the new daycare. You should not be in business. Your classrooms are unsanitary, smell so bad and you allow your teachers to abuse children. This causes PTSD, emotional distress, and trust issues with these kids. I pray that every parent does their research before trusting their kids with you. You're endangering our kids lives.

They filled out a Jordan district behavioral form on him that sounded nothing like we've ever seen from him! This startled us, so when they told us he needed developmental help and excused us from their program (that same day) we put him through every screening they suggested. He passed everything with flying colors. Every Ped visit, every therapy visit and assessment. Jordan district wouldn't help us place him in any developmental preschool programs because they said he didn't qualify for needing any help from them. We got him into a different preschool. That teachers Jordan district behavioral form she filled out on him looked nothing like what sunshine square said he was acting like. It just read like the exact kid we see here at home. Sunshine squares ultimate lack of communication caused me to really struggle to trust teachers. And be overly harsh with any behavior he had. Years later, he's still flourishing in school, and rocking the dual immersion program (behaviorally, socially, and academically). Thanks to great teachers and communication. We were surprised and bummed to have this experience since we went here for preschool as children. Edit: When we escalated this problem/confusion up with the head lady (Mrs.Susie), all she would say is she has to support her teachers opinion and excuse us from the school. No explanation or discussion, she wouldn't allow us to sit in to see his supposed behaviors, or discuss them with the teacher more so we could understand how he was acting. We felt like they were just getting rid of him, and we didn't know why.

My child attends the Riverton location. He has a late birthday and some speech issues so I was hesitant on putting him in preschool the month after he turned 3. Miss Suzie assured me when I was looking around that he would do just fine, and he has done amazing! Miss Greta has kept me informed of his progress all year long, any issues that have arisen, and my son has learned SO much. I would highly recommend this school and can't wait for next year.

They do not handle bullying at all besides a whole class lecture yearly about how "Bullying is bad…read morefor the water inside of you," (We did actually get that lecture.) except for thee few times they do by suspending the kids and doing nothing else about it unless it's a rare case. They managed to make pop-tarts rock hard. They have very few things going for them (Mr. Morris, Ms. Bolman, Ms. Cody, Crime Lab, Ms. Rugino, Mr. J, Ms. Cardon, Ms. Lund, and the fifth grade teachers), but the goods are only worth one star. Otherwise, it would be a zero star review. Beware Mr. Ellsworth's assignments. I would not wish attending ascent on my worst enemy. My brother has many friends, most of whom left the school, and those who left ascent say their new school is better. I am incredibly excited for ninth grade, because then I can leave. This school nearly made me do something I cannot say in this review. I would literally rather eat rotten for ten years than attend this school. Granted, that is because rotten food is pretty much something that I already get from Ascent (Visibly rotten apple, anyone?). And they have run out of food and made me lose recess (Yes, they have recess in Jr. High) on three seperate occasions this semester. Also, Mr. Ellsworth states conspiracies daily. And the Jr High PE teacher has incredibly sexist grading standards: about 100 laps on the pacer for guys and like 20 for girls, as well as about 20 pull ups for guys and seven seconds of holding onto the bar for girls. I could keep going all day, but I don't remember all of it. (Edit: I was sent to the principal's office today because of this. So, this school cares more about its precious little ego than it does bullying to the point where its students consider something that is often a byproduct of depression.)

Not only are they not trained, they are not tolerant. If you have a child with ADD or ADHD, you should go somewhere else. I have been called into the office many times for the same issues when they could easily make the situations better by learning more about how children with ADHD function. When contacting me when my child is physically hurt or having an emotionally challenging day, I do not get any phone calls. The headmistress has even made me, as a parent, feel shame and guilt. My daughter repeatedly is reprimanded for not tucking in her shirt and other silly things for a 6-year-old to comply with. She cries almost daily because of these comments, and I have asked the school to talk to ME about them and not her. I understand the standards at Challenger are higher than most, but we also have to remember that they are still children at the end of the day.
