The wine tasted like it was watered down, no flavor at all! The service was less than satisfactory! We ordered a pizza and when the server put the pizza on the table she actually turned her head, put the pizza on the table and walked away! She didn't say anything! What looked to be the owner was there, he did not engage with customers at all and there were only 3 tables in the whole place. We will not be back to this place. If you like watered down wine, then this is the place for you! read more

Absolutely love the outdoor area here. Grab a glass of any of the amazing wines, especially the dry reds and just relax. My wife and I stopped on Friday to have dinner. We've been there before and they've always had some decent choices for food. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, the lasagna,, flatbread chicken bacon ranch flat bread pizza and a hamburger beer soup. OMG everything was amazing!!! The Lasagna and the hamburger beer soup blew us away....next level food! Don't get me wrong the spinach and artichoke dip and flatbread were delicious, but the other two stayed in our minds way after the food was gone and I am still thinking about it! This was my last stop after wine tasting all day. The building is inviting and looked clean. All their grapes are imported and they make the wine there. They are known for their dry reds if I remember correctly. We did a sampling of a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Cabernet Franc, and a Pinot Noir. We were able to take the glasses out on the outside patio and enjoy the nice weather. There is a fair amount of seating and live music was going to occur a little later. The wines were just ok. my aunt ordered the special "penne pasta with meatball and sausage" because people said it was great... it was anything but. After waiting almost 30 minutes, the buzzer went off and my aunt went to get her food. She sat down and took a bite and it was lukewarm ( on the side of cold... I tried it too). She took it back up and it was stated later that the worker put it in the microwave for 2 minutes... the pasta was still cold, the sauce was extremely watery and the pasta was overcooked to the point where we couldnt pick it up with the fork. my aunt didn't eat it and ended up throwing away. The staff was EXTREMELY rude and said that "the dish was waiting up here". The wine was good but we won't be returning because of the rude staff and rough food. read more

I really enjoyed this spot! When we came in, we went to order and the woman was super friendly and helpful in finding us a wine we'd like. She gave us one we asked to try and then had us blind taste a couple others based off what we said we liked which was fun! Once settled on a wine, we headed outside. It had finally warmed up just enough to get away with sitting outside. Their patio area is really cute. I loved the little wooden faces on the trees! Benny is the man. We had a great time visiting him after two terrible stops at Laurentia and Stonegaite. Both of these places were awful. Unfriendly and not nice people. Benny came to see our table, thanked us for coming, and was a complete old school gentleman. As you drive on to the property you're struck by the grounds & how much money they must have spent. Too bad they ran out by the time they hired staff, created a menu, & decided on ambience. Tasting attendant trashed the competition by saying "most of their harvest goes to waste" as a way to justify why theirs come from Chile. Wine glasses were dirty & she thought it necessary to ask if we wanted it cleaned in between varieties. Pizza crust tasted like an oversized sponge cake pastry shell. This was our first visit to this winery. I was surprised it's been here 3 years. The winery is out in the middle of no where. However hovers a water way. May be really nice in the summer. The wines were generous pours as well. Tried most of the reds. Prices were a bit. However they were all really good. Carmenere , Malbec and others all good. However the Vidal Blanc, dry white with 0% RS was delicious. Best one. All of the grapes come from California and the pressing is done on the property. read more

Cute little winery in the middle of the woods. I really debated between a 3 & 4 here. The wine is pretty good and the varietals offered were extensive. The food lacks a bit here, but I appreciate that they offer a menu. I found the decor a bit kitschy with strangely mismatched chairs and tables. Many of the outside tables looked like they were rescued from a failed closed down old family restaurant left outside to rot away with 1960's vinyl table clothes on a few. I couldn't decide what to think of that. The bathrooms were clean and stylish. The place was clean. They had music playing when we arrived that was pleasant and for the mid-life crowd. Live acoustic music started before we left at about 7:30ish I think on a Friday. It was good. We sampled a few wines and liked them all but settled on the cab sauvignon. We enjoyed it. I wasn't as thrilled with the pizza we ordered. The crust was in the style of a Pizza Hut that was airy with a greasy crisp. The fresh herbs were a nice touch. Overall, I liked this winery and will return. I love the beautiful secluded site overlooking the river gorge and they make good wine, which is what they need to be known for read more

Fall picture perfect on the patio! Wine was great and great prices too. Tucked away is a great parking area so you're off the main roads. Bring a jacket if you're on the patio because you'll be in the shade in the afternoon (I was there in October so it was chilly). Only thing that was slightly annoying and it's probably only because of coronavirus restrictions is the line at the counter to order wine/food. They didn't have menus anywhere else so it took a while for people to check out the menu and make decisions. read more

My beloved is quite fond of his Carmenere, while I just adore the pretty Sangiovese. We love it here, the staff is super friendly and awesome, they have really good pizza too! Now here's another goodie. The tasting pours are Generous to say the least! Woohoo! Tastings are a real bargain for the hard to commit. But do yourself a favor and try a glass- or bottle if you're like me and you love it! It's casual, unpretentious and most times Benny will stop by your table to say Hello. We popped by here with a group of friends and family celebrating a 30th birthday. We loved the atmosphere, outdoor seating, and the wine. I was very disappointed that our schedule didn't have us stay for dinner because the specials sounds incredible. The staff was fast and the wine was refreshing. Outside you get a beautiful view of the creek, woods, and a quaint one lane bridge. We enjoyed our time at this winery and I personally wanted to stay a bit longer but that can be difficult when the rest of the group is ready to go. Nice patio. Terrible staff. We went there for lunch on a Friday, the place wasn't crowded. We bought a bottle of wine and ordered food but 45 minutes passed and the food didn't come. Our friend went to get another bottle and asked about the food and was told our food order had been placed 15 minutes previously. He bought the wine to the table, another 10 minutes passed. I went inside and asked the alleged hostess about salad and our appetizer. She had me serve myself to 2 salad's sitting on a shelf that it turned out were not even ours. Next thing we know the cook brought us somebody else's order, apparently because we were "served" their salads. We told her what we ordered and our food did eventually come out with the exception of our appetizer. We were told that had been entered 6 minutes earlier. We ordered bruschetta, how long could that take in a fully equipped kitchen, 10 minutes tops? Where I come from appetizer implies before dinner. We had been waiting well over an hour at this point and asked for our money back after we were forced to listen to more excuses from the horrible hostess. I will admit I told her to shut up which was not very helpful but I was tired of listening to her excuses for doing a terrible job. I have done that job and had I had a guest approach me a first time about service there would not have been a second. I will point out that they already had our money which was the only reason we hadn't left. That, a beautiful afternoon, the patio was nice after the blaring television was turned off and we were finishing a bottle of wine. After we got a food refund we finished the wine and went somewhere else to eat. I can't say anything about the food, all we had was someone else's salad. There are lots of nice places in the area, don't waste your time with this one. read more

Stopped for lunch on our way from central Ohio to Rochester NY. It was a rainy day, but warm enough for the covered patio. We had excellent service, delicious food (garlic mussels) and wonderful wine (Malbec). Benny was on site and we had a very educational conversation about wines in general and his wine-making methods in particular. Benny was generous enough to give us a taste of his delicious Zin, still in the barrels. Can't wait for it to be bottled. There was a group of folks who added to the conversation & gave us some great suggestions for our next visit to the area. This winery has become a "must" for our trips to this region. read more

The grounds are beautiful and the wines are fantastic (confession I only drink red wine so I don't know about the whites). It is a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. We went here on a Saturday evening, and it was quite fun. The music was OK, but the pizza we had was awesome. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with it and sat outside under the trees, this is recommended spot to stop if you are in the area hitting the wineries and want to finish your day with a nice meal. Some people complain about the furniture, but you have to understand you're sitting outside, and the weather will affect both what they use, and the condition that may be in. Just went on our annual girl`s trip to Geneva wineries. This was our first visit to Benny`s and everyone was very impressed! Wines were delicious, owners were very kind and we even sampled their homemade meatballs! Yum! The setting is like a beautiful park with gorgeous scenery.
