Drinks offerings were unique (granted we do not frequent wineries) and our selections were flavorful and refreshing: sangria and lemonade slushes and a cotton candy grape. Our group ordered a mix of appetizers and pizzas, and I ordered the bruschetta bread. Everything looked delicious! I tasted the Bavarian pretzel my friend ordered, and it was well salted and yummy. Visited on a lovely fall Sunday after driving to see beautiful trees and covered bridges. How blessed to live in a region with so much beauty to offer! Stopped here so we could enjoy a bottle of wine and have our dog sit with us on the patio. While it was a sweatshirt day, the sun ,Ade it feel much warmer. It was in the upper 60s lower 70s and such a great day to sit outside. We had an order of pretzel sticks and artichoke dip with naan bread to accompany our chose of a Riesling. The artichoke dip was ok. I found it to be too mayo heavy. The pretzel sticks were very nice with mustard and cheese sauce. The mustard was the better if the two. Next time, I'll ask for two mustard and no cheese. Straightforward order process. Order at the counter, you get a buzzer and you get your stuff. Team members were helpful. Beautiful patio! Really impressive winery with a great selection of wines, several food choices, and lots of seating including a variety of seating outdoors and indoors. We came on a Saturday night and they were super busy but still had several tables open. They also had live music and the band was pretty good. I appreciated their honesty about the wait for food (an hour), but I ordered the cordon bleu salad which was a good price but left me hungry enough to have to go back and order a cheese plate. Both were very good though! Wines were served with generous pours though and I very much enjoyed the Rkatsiteli and Tempranillo. I absolutely would love to come back here again if I'm ever in the area. It's a great place to bring friends or a date to have an enjoyable summer night. read more

We did a sampling and since we like red wines, we went with 5 reds and a Chardonnay. I wasn't thrilled with the presentation, as it didn't go with the beauty of the winery. Of all the wines, I liked the Zinfandel the best, which is weird, because it's not a wine I usually like. It was very smooth and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They did have a food menu, which was pretty small, consisting of pizzas, calzones, etc. We are flying, so can't take anything with us, but the Zin wins my vote of approval. read more

After having relocated back to the area, we decided to do some winery hopping with some visiting family. We love the staples, but decided to try all new wineries we hadn't been to before, and Stonegait was second on the itinerary! Upon pulling into their parking lot, I noticed right away how beautiful the grounds were. Everything was big and open and the landscaping was beautiful. The inside had a cozy ambiance that felt very welcoming. We were visiting several wineries on this day and planned to eat a meal at a later winery, and so we didn't want to overdo it on food and wine before our last destination. Let me tell you though, the smells coming from their kitchen were driving me crazy and I told my family we would definitely need to come back when a meal is an option because their pizzas looked and smelled phenomenal! We got a little snack tray to share and took it outside. The service was quick, even with a line forming for food. As soon as we got outside, I noticed right away how beautiful their patio area is, and I made a mental note to also come back when they have live music. I plan to return and try their pizza and some music, and I will update my review when I do, but my experience here was so great that it's one of the few wineries I am genuinely excited to return to. read more

Their selection of wines is quite impressive - about 20 in total (from perhaps 10-15 different grapes?). The property is surrounded on 2 sides by vineyards and is well-populated with inside and outside places to sit - tables and benches, both under roof and in shaded ares. The menu was impressive. They also offer draft beer, a couple of which were local. It's located on a road with what seems like 10 other wineries. We ended up only liking/buying the Riesling, though I'd like to stop again to try again (recovering from sickness, my taste may have been effected). This seems like a nice venue. read more

The petite Syrah was very very good, just a touch on the sweeter side but very drinkable. We were disappointed in the food though. We heard these are amazing pizzas and you'll never find a better one. It was fine? The best was Buffalo chicken and I'd eat it again, but it's not the best ever. The atmosphere was loud loud loud - there is nothing anywhere to soften the sound. And it was pretty dead for a Saturday night, but it is going into winter. We always have a nice time at Stonegait! Today we stopped by for lunch on a beautiful Friday afternoon. The winery is massive! Lots of tables and a huge fireplace that is usually lit in the winter. The outdoor space is also large and they frequently have live music on the weekends. You order your drinks and food at the bar and they give you a buzzer so you know when you're good is ready. On this visit, I had a wine slushie and my husband had a beer. We split a pizza and it was delicious. First time visit and we loved it! We came with our best friends and they treated us to wine and dinner here. This winery has a nice selection of wines and other adult beverages, along with soft drinks as well. Ww tried some of their red wines and enjoyed them very much. We started our dining experience with a Charcuterie Board. It was comprised of an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, Mixed nuts, olives, and warm bread with herb butter. We had heard about their Stone Oven pizzas, and were anxious to try one. We opted for the Meat Lovers. The crust was perfect, the toppings were Red Sauce, Cheese, Pepperoni, Salami, Sausage, and Bacon. I found that smearing g some of the herb butter from the charcuterie board on the pizza was particularly delicious! The staff was very helpful, and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. There is a large open air patio that is covered by a roof. It makes for enjoyable seating outdoors on nice days during the Summer and Fall. A welcome extra was the live music provided by Nick and Lori. They are very good, and serenade the audience with a wide variety of music. Nick is a particularly talented guitarist and has mastered some pretty intricate picking. Check this place out! read more

Pizzas were tasty and served hot!! All who ordered pizzas said the same. Two split a bottle of wine and my wine connisseur friend said they had excellent selection. I'm the beer guy and took advantage of them having GLBC Christmas Ale on tap. Served with sugsr/cinnamon filmed frosted glass----PERFECTO!! Will be back even before the outdoor area is opened! We decided to do a local winery tour as we have not done it in several years and being during the ridiculous time of lockdown I was kind of curious how it was going to be managed but it turned out to be just fine. this winery is located just off of the interstate off of 528 and it is a large new beautiful facility suitable for parties, gatherings and weddings. There is ample and adequate parking and it looks like it probably has a ability to house about 200 people. It has a large outdoor patio that new grass was just planted so this place is that brand new. it kind of pains me to see at large beautiful place built the large gatherings suffering at the hands of the governor and restricting their ability to do business. The restrooms are large and clean the bar is huge and it has a very Lodge like atmosphere inside. They also have a very beautiful fireplace in the center which should be in inviting focus of your attention in the winter.. Generally the wine I drink is normally a very dry cab which is pretty rare here in Northeast Ohio however I did learn that they import grapes and make their own wine out of those grapes and the cab was actually surprisingly full-bodied. They were people smiling laughing and gathering fulfilling the purpose of this winery. read more

Horses and winemaking! Yes, their logo and theme is horses - a childhood dream of mine to own one. Here you have a wonderful selection from sweeties to the dry - and we always leave with a bottle. They have flights here and I really enjoy that as the pandemic had scaled back many tastings. They have a wide variety - and my beloved and I like to do the whole flight - whites to reds and sweets. because - that's fun!!! Food is really good here - we had a nice flatbread and really enjoyed the sun drenched patio at a wine cask table. They do have a couple of grapes that are unusual and I find rather enchanting: Rkatsiteli and Marquette! Oof. I love those - very unique and a slight tang to the Rkat (my fave, a white) and P loves the Marquette (a red). Its worth it to try something very unique. :) The winery itself is very pretty, large rooms, carefully spaced and high beamed ceilings, a large stone fireplace and a extensive side patio. It has a very large back room that I assume would be amazing for a wedding or really any large gathering. I know the pandemic has hurt businesses as lovely as this- which were expecting to grow, and they are a newer winery to the area. On one of our early visits on a Saturday, it was us and the owner, who was just delightful - and appreciative we'd come to try a few wines and bring a few bottles home. I saw another gentleman's review of one person behind the bar-that was the only time we'd seen that and it was late Saturday morning (early in the wine lands). We've visited many times, there was at least 2 or three with a couple others drifting out from the kitchen area. It must have been something weird like a call off - as I used to work in the service industry. I never had to wait. it's very clean and I feel "Covid safe". So go out there for an adventure my white wine Goddesses (and Gods - not going to discriminate here-lol) and ask for the "R-kat" as it is affectionately known. For the red wine Goddesses and Gods - Pete will vouch for the Marquette. Hope you love it as we do. They REALLY need to do a big 'ole Derby Day when life as we know it is normal again. I knew I would like this place as soon as I pulled up and saw the big red barn. This winery is huge and has enough space to host weddings or other large parties. They are a winery but also offer one beer and one mixed drink that you can also order. The flights are 6 tastes for $9 and are served in actual wine glasses (no plastic mini cups here). They have a few appetizers and multiple pizzas to choose from. The pretzel looks plain but is packed with flavor and the stone ground mustard sauce is delicious. The wine is good and I bought a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc. This winery has become a part of my 'must stop when winery hopping' list. read more

We arrived with a group of about 14-16 people. The tables wouldn't accommodate everyone so we started moving one of them. The lady that owns the winery ran over and started yelling that we weren't allowed to move the tables. The female owner was extremely rude to us, however her husband was very nice. He seemed embarrassed by his wife's behavior as she walked away muttering under her breath. I'd recommend she go to charm school to learn how to politely talk to people. Especially since she's in the customer service industry. I hope she treats her employees better than she treats her customers. We won't be going back. What a beautiful patio and thoughtfully designed interior! My fiancé does woodworking as a hobby and was charmed by the live edge wood bar, vaulted ceilings, and beautiful tables. I took mental notes of the stonework for our future dream home. This was an experience for the eyes and tastebuds! We were grateful they were open an hour later (until 7 pm) on a Tuesday as most of the other wineries had closed for the evening or had been closed for the day. ARROGANT, UNAPOLOGETIC, ARSES That about sums it up! I've heard rumors of the poor service from many locals. I wanted to see for myself. And YES, the reviews are accurate! Their "system" for food and beverage ordering and pickup is something you would expect in a third world food distribution line. And when you finally get your food... it's not worth the 1 hour + wait. Who ever is the back house manager needs to be trained on how to operate any type of a food service business, or just be replaced. If it is the owner who is managing the back house, they should look into working for the BMV. In that business, crappy service with attitude is a requirement! There are at least 50 other wineries in that area. If all 50 of them close, I still would not go back to this place! Not to mention the smell of overflowing septic when you first get out of you car. Someone from the local health department should look into that.. Save yourself the aggravation and go to one (any one) of the other wineries in the area. read more
