From the moment we walked through the door, it felt like stepping into Benny's home--he welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness. He patiently listened to my 7-year-old's haircut requests while also taking the enthusiastic piano banging from my 3-year-old in stride. Both of the barbers when I came in on a Saturday around 11:30 were very friendly and constantly bantering at each other in a friendly fun way. Benny is also talking smack or sharing his thoughts about things out-loud, and this man from Kosovo with an accent made my waiting time there more enjoyable. I should have either called ahead or came at a different time because I waited nearly an hour until I could get my cut. I don't even live close to this place, but I wish I had a barber like this near me in the city. Benny even offered us waiting some beer at a certain point! I recently tried to find a local barbershop around the Brookfield area instead of the one I was going to all the way out in Addison every few weeks. I came across Benny's and was interested. I went in for a haircut/beard line-up this past Saturday morning. I'm really picky, because my beard hasn't been lined up evenly at past barbershops. I received a great haircut there, but, didn't notice until I got home, that my beard's cheek lines were completely uneven and the jawline was brought up way shorter than I like. Now I have to shave it off Monday, start over, and regrow my beard back. I'm disappointed, because I do love the feel of Benny's and the people that work there.
