Well, as my rating indicates, I am a big fan of Mike and his place. I discovered it while staying with a family member for several months while on disability. I did a search for places on my phone but found this while walking down 95th street. I am so glad I did. Extremely friendly place with some quality hairstylists. Plus, you have a whole range of services to keep up on your grooming needs. Mike has given me many precision haircuts that grew out quite nicely. The main reason I ended up there, however, was to get a nice trim and shave of my facial hair. My right arm was under strict orders to be held stationary and I just could not get a clean shave to my liking with my left arm only. I called the shop and spoke to Mike on the phone and he was already extremely welcoming. When I entered the shop, it was very modern and clean. Again, very friendly staff and Mike was extremely engaging. A true gentleman and interested in meeting my needs. He ended up giving me the cleanest shave I think I have ever had and a great haircut. I was impressed by the services. Over the following months, I made it a point to visit him every few weeks and along the way, he introduced me to a steam shave. I loved it. I have to say, he spoiled me with these great shaves and I always enjoyed our conversations during our sessions. Mike also introduced me to one of his facial sessions. One of his other staff members gave me set of great treatments that left my face feeling, younger, fresher and smoother than when I walked in. It was fantastic. I miss being in Oak Lawn and have gone a few times from where I live close to the inner city. Let me tell you this. It is certainly worth the trip. Not only are you getting expert services, you are getting them at great prices and with a very capable staff in an engaging and inviting environment. I highly recommend Style 95. read more

I recently let my hair grow out after 16 years and it was getting wild on the sides and back. I decided to try this spot because of it's rating and proximity of where I was. I filled my name on the sign in sheet and sat down. I waited 4 minutes and a guy named Moe took me. He seemed friendly. I informed him that I just grew my hair out and just needed the sides lowered and just a trim on top. He must have thought trim equals cut low as possible. He should have stopped, verified and clarified what I wanted but he didn't. Now I have to pray my hair grows back soon. There were several people waiting there or being serviced or hanging out. The men who work there are very nice and welcoming. But I wasn't satisfied with the haircut my son received from that particular barber. A $15 haircut that took 10 or 15 minutes. The barber who worked on my son did a bad job. The other guys took their time with thier clients and do nice work (from the looks of it and ratings). But is guy totally jacked up my son's lining, when I ask him to fix it, it only got worse. He also left some teeth marks (not sure what's the technical term) on the top of his head they could have been taken care of if he would have gone over that spot a few times with the clippers. New to the neighborhood was looking for a barber definitely will not be returning to that spot. I really think it was just that particular Barber the other guys seem to do nice work. read more

So I was looking for a barbershop that would do a female's undercut with a design. It was actually more difficult than I thought it would be- unfortunately. With all the no's from local barbers I was very pleasantly surprised when Style 95 said yes! A head is a head-- so frankly in 2020 I didn't see the issue in the first place. Moving on though, Jimmy did an excellent job-- not only for me, but also for my princess who was with me and she decided she wanted one too! We did lotus flowers designs and Jimmy really did an excellent job! Hers looks soooo cute with a ponytail, and my hair is finally not sticking to my neck when I work out-- a short hair girl problem lol.. I didn't think of that when I chopped my waist length hair to almost chin level! Now I found a cool way to keep the little hairs in the back off my neck- and honestly it feels really cool! I don't mind trying different things- and this was a really awesome one! And like I said Jimmy did an excellent job! He even artistically extended the design when I wanted just a little more off the sides-- so it was perfect! And the girls in my dance class thought it was sooo cool! I have been going here for about 9 months now. At first, I really liked the place but since then they have different people and the one guy (Kal I believe) that used to cut my hair has been busy every time I came in. The others just simply do not do as well of a job. The guys who cut the hair barely talk to you and when they do you can barely hear them. They have no problem talking in Arabic to the other barbers while they are cutting your hair though. This is really disrespectful to the customers and you have no idea what they are saying. In the last 2-3 months they ONLY accept cash and stopped taking credit cards, this seems very shady. The price per cut also seems to vary depending on who you get to cut your hair - I've had $15, $20, and $25. I've had the SAME cut every time I have gone in. The bar next door that has an ATM literally smells like piss if you have to get cash. That being said I am going to a different barber that has things running better and people that won't talk a different language in front of you. read more

This is by far one of the worst barbershops around barbers are RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and basically do whatever they want. When a customer comes in to patronize your business you dont rush a haircut, make them feel uncomfortable and also dont blame them for your mistakes. I got my haircut with Mike the owner and I thought he did a great job. My hair is really thick and I think that's given other barbers trouble. I got a gentlemen's cut and I'm really picky about how straight my blend on the sides are and Mike really listened to me on that. The guy really seems to know what he's doing and as long as you make it clear to him what you want, he'll listen. Ask him for his advice too if you're unsure about what you want. $15 for a cut, straight razor on the edges, and shampoo. I'll definitely be coming back while I'm in Chicago. read more

I've been to this place twice. Same barber, so my opinion may be bias and I'm black, so my review may be irrelevant. My hair cut only took 10 minutes, but when I left I noticed that my hair was uneven and had to return. Later I recognized more inconsistencies in my hair that I had to attempt to fix myself. I got what amounts to a military cut and beard trim at $25, you can decide whether or not you find that pricey. I also tip and even though I have short hair, attention to detail is a very important attribute in a barber for me. read more

This was the worst cut of my life! I'm going to try and stay calm as I write this, but I can't guarantee it. Let's start off by saying that I had a very beautiful beard, the kind people would get jealous over. I've been coming here for over 5 years. I had recently discovered a change in prices, which was totally uncalled for! I can no longer tip any of the barbers due to the raise for a haircut. Not a good step for the business because many as my self will go somewhere cheaper where we can still tip the barber and have some money left for something else . An additional thing that had caught my attention was the lack of hygiene! The towels don't get washed the barbers just put them on a shelve to dry out.
