I have had my hair buzzed by all 3 gentlemen now; the most recent was by the owner himself. He briefly made small talk while he cut my hair but it was otherwise a quiet experience, as all 3 have been. It's very reasonably priced ($20 for buzz cut). The vibe is chill & lowkey; I am grateful they do not blast music because it's a sensory issue for me & I can get overstimulated, therefore making for an uncomfortable experience. I've been looking for a solid barbershop for a while in my area. I drove by this shop all the time and was finally lured in by the barber pole. I made an appointment with Sam. There's an online portal on their website and plenty of 30 minute slots available the day before (day of you will need to stop by or call if you want Sam). I really like the feel of this place, Sam has done a great job on mine and my sons hair. I'll continue to visit as long as he is there. read more

I asked the last barber I went to for a medium bald fade and he SHAVED MY WHOLE HEAD except for a small patch on top and had me looking like Tong PO from The Kickboxer!! Guy doesnt listen. Told him keep length on my part, shaved the entire side of my head. Told him my haircut was a soft part, asked me if i wanted a hard part multiple times. 2nd time this has happened. Will never go back here. Ever. Not only that, the cut is very uneven as u can see below, he shaved way to high in the back so I now have an unavoidable cowlick, and he completely shaved off one of my sideburns. I'm amazed this dude has a shop, much less is allowed to cut hair. What a joke. read more

Wanted to find a good barber close to home who gives a nice cut. I looked through several reviews, and SK and Sam received the kind of feedback that caught my eye. I don't want to go to a place where it's like a movie and I hear loud music, insipid and lewd comedy on the TV, or witless banter between several individuals. SK is clean, well furnished, and quiet. Most of all Sam while being soft spoken was clearly an intellectually curious individual. Sort of like a Bob Ross type, but take away the afro and the mary jane. I explained what I wanted and Sam was receptive and offered constructive feedback. Most of all I left with a great haircut and a new place that I can count on close to home. Great shop. Great prices. Most importantly, great cuts. For years I've only let my barber in the city cut my hair but an office move out the city had me looking for a good cut close to home. I was skeptical such a thing could be found in the western suburbs. I rolled the dice on SK Barbershop. Turns out, Sam and his guys are top notch: clean fades, tight lines, perfect undercuts, a proper side part. And they are good, solid guys. Went there today. Found out is was appointment only. Which isn't a big deal but the way barber he told me was so smug and rude.

Great, young barber Sam who has years of experience working at Paul's Barber Shop up on 83 in Elmhurst. Once he left Paul's, I did too and am excited he opened his own place. He provides a great, old school barber experience and gives a solid cut. I definitely recommend him. read more

Came in to try out a new barber and ended up getting my haircut by Sam, the owner. Super cool guy and down to earth. Shop is very clean. Prices are reasonable. Nice comfy seating while you are waiting. Decent parking that's not too crowded, although it shares the lot with the Farmers Market off 31st St. I've been back once more and both times I have really liked my haircut. Sam is very attentive to giving his clients the cut they want, and seems to be well skilled in many different traditional and newer styles. I've been going to Sam now for about a year. Couple things I look for in a barber, cleanliness, ease of appointments/or little to no time waiting when walking in, and consistent cuts. Hidden gem of a barbershop. Seems only options these days are the chains or ghetto barbershops. This place is modern and fresh, comfortable loungy feel with a big screen tv. You get personalized no rush treatment. I take my son and he loves it. Always gets a good haircut with no complaints. Highly recommended but call ahead as hours can vary. read more
