I am so beyond disappointed in Benny's Jewelers. My boyfriend received a fairly expensive necklace chain from here but it broke when it was softly tugged on. Upon him bringing it back to get fixed, it then broke again from him rolling around his bed, only for him to see they had switched out his original chain for a different one. He went and tried talking to the owner in which the owner pretended he couldn't understand his english when he was talking perfectly fine prior. In addition, a couple links of the chain started coming off after it was fixed (shown in picture.) Do better, Benny's Jewelers. You lost loyal customers. read more

My sole intention for going into this store was just to peruse through their watch collections. No intention of buying anything. I saw a watch that I know pretty well and asked to see it. Tried it on and started talking to him about it. But like every desperate seller, he immediately began talking about price and buying. I have been purchasing, selling and collecting watches for 10 years and I never pay retail price for them. So when he said the MSRP I told him I could get it for half that. He then came back at me saying that those are either fake, used or/and are not from authorized dealers. Then when I showed him the price of the watch on an authorized dealer's website, his price went from MSRP to the price that was listed on the website. When I insisted that I still didn't want to buy it, he kept on attacking me to buy the watch until I said that I wouldn't even buy from him if I wanted to. He finally gave up and I left the store feeling like I was harassed. Horrible salesmen just trying to scam people. Never again will I walk into that store again. read more

This place is disgusting and should be shut down. These men are absolute scam artists. I don't understand how they are still in business. My friend's fiancé bought her engagement ring here. They spend a lot of time at the mall and were looking for rings together. They are both young and disabled and Benny's took advantage of them in the worst way. They don't understand that people would try to scam them and Benny's took advantage of that. Not only were they overcharged, but the stone kept coming out of my friend's ring and they gave her a hard time every time she went to get it fixed. After getting the ring fixed 4 times she went back in for a refund. They told her that she could not return it and that they would only fix it. She now has another ring from another place, but they had to eat the cost of the ring they got from Benny's. Her fiancé made monthly payments to them as he is disabled and doesn't make much money and they had no compassion or empathy. Initially I was hesitant about buying anything meaningful and expensive from a "mall" jeweler, but I was really surprised to find the staff knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonable. They found the right store for my engagement ring, went on to get my wedding band, and have made many more purchases from them. I was sold junk jewelry, tried to return it the next day (completely untouched and still in the box), was told that it's not their problem. If I could give them zero stars I would. They don't have a return policy. I tried to return a rather expensive and cheap looking necklace my husband bought me. I spent a whole hour looking for something that didn't look cheap and overpriced. Could not find a thing. Everything has stones in it and they claim they are "diamonds". They most cheap and cloudy looking "diamonds" I have ever seen. I had to send me husband back to get a ring or something that they can't over price. They are total scam artist. Came here with my friend to help him pick a ring out when he decided he was ready to pop the question. Lily guided us with style, clarity and prices. My friend was very hesitant because he never talked to his significant other regarding her style and they were accommodating and even wrote on the receipt they can come back and exchange the ring or size the ring if she was not satisfied with it. I recently returned to Benny's with an anniversary ring I bought two years ago. The ring has many small diamonds set in white gold. I love the ring and have worn it daily to work since it was purchased. I recently lost one of the stones and took the ring back for repairs. A couple months ago, my mom went to buy a pre-own breitling lady watch for $2500 (they asked for $4800, then they lowered down to $2500). We were told that it was a pre-owned watch in great condition due to its high quality. A few hours after I bought it, the watch stopped working. We brought it to the store the next day asking for return because it stopped working, it was a defected watch. They refused return request and insisted that it was running out of batteries. So they placed a new battery. Again, it worked for a few hours, then stopped again. Now it completely dead, doesn't work anymore. This poor quality product should never have gone out for sale. My son who is 17 years old, saved money ($110) to purchase a Pandora bracelet for his first real girlfriend. He went into this store, asked for a Pandora bracelet and the salesperson sold him a fake. He came home, realized it was fake and was so upset - they have a no refund policy. Less than 24 hours later, he went back and explained to them - still, no refunds allowed. I called while he was in the store, spoke to a rude sales person, explaining politely, that the kid is 17 years old, saved up his allowance money for his first girlfriend, and asked if he can make an exception. "NO! NO REFUNDS I SAID". So I told him that I will call 7 On Your Side, and they may find this story interesting. He hung up on me. I am terribly disappointed with this place. I went in against my better judgement to buy an birthday gift for my boyfriend which was a men's bracelet. After a month, the bracelet stopped closing. I took it in today and there were three people in the store. The man that originally sold it to me was extremely rude and blamed me for breaking it and said he couldn't do anything because they don't do refunds or exchanges. He said he would charge me to fix it, which I absolutely would not do. The two other people (one was the owner) were arguing with the other man and telling him to assist me. I was so unbelievable frustrated and I left the store. The owner then followed me out of the store and told me he would give me another bracelet free of charge. I told him no and that I will not be returning to the store again, but he wouldn't leave me alone so i went back and he gave me another bracelet without charge and did let me keep the broken one. I just wanted to get out of there. The owner kept asking for me not to report this matter and wanted me to return again but I will not be returning here. Also, the man who originally sold it to me told me the bracelet came from Italy while the owner told me it was made in Pennsylvania. I trust nothing these people were saying. I learned my lesson. Go to a jeweler that offers a warranty, has great customer service, and that isn't a scam artist. I honestly would not be surprised if the new bracelet falls apart. I would pay anybody out of my own pocket not to go to this place. I am not sure how these scammers are still standing. I buy an expensive necklace for my wife and it shatters into 5 pieces. I go back and complain, they fixed it and it once again shattered into several pieces. At this point I tell them that I do not want the necklace anymore and I change it for an ankle bracelet in which they charged me an extra $100 for. Not even one month after purchasing the ankle bracelet it breaks into 3 pieces. I ask myself how is that even possible? I have been buying jewerly my whole life and I have never seen anything break into several pieces like that and continuously. I go in furious and tell them I want store credit or my money back, they said they cant do anything but fix it and ended up giving me a new one since it was completely broken. At this point I am suspicious and I go to different jewerly stores around the area and ask them to look at the bracelet to tell me if it was real and how much they would pay for it. Every single one offered me no more than $5. These people charged me a total or about $300 for a necklace and than make m pay an extra $100 for an ankle bracelet thats not even worth $5? Dumb move by me for continuing to do business with them after my wifes necklace broke. One month ago I bought a beautiful ring at Bennys Jewelry store and for Christmas gave it to my boyfriend. The ring was too big so we went back to Bennys to get the ring resized and some foreign guy, very nasty and rude refused to sent it to resize it sayint that the ring will fit in the summer cause you fingers swell. My boyfriend argued and finally the foreign guy said ok give me $38.00 to resize. I was told that first resize was free and the foreign guy refused to resized. NO money no resized the ring. So we paid $38 to resize the ring. We were told they have to send it out. They called us in three days to pick up the ring. My boyfriend said the ring was still big. And he said they probably never sent it to be resized. So we went back the other day to resize the ring and the foreign guy wanted me to pay again, And we refused to pay again, my boyfriend contacted the owner Benny. To try to get $38 back. 2nd TIME ENTERING THIS REVIEW B/C THEY TRIED TO REMOVE THE OLD ONE. My boyfriend & I were walking through the mall before a movie & decided to stop in this jewelry store since we'd talked about engagement rings. A man named Sam helped us out & at 1st seemed friendly & had us sit down to discuss different options. He told us they'd been in business for over 30yrs & this was a family run business. He pulled out a ring that I'd never even thought of & I was in love with it. Still, this was our 1st time shopping & didn't want to jump on anything too quickly so we figured we'd think about it & come back. That's where this man turned into a used car salesman & got impatient, rude & insulting. When I said I loved it, he pulled out a piece of paper & pen, stood up & said "ok, let's do this," I said we weren't ready & my boyfriend even said that he wasn't about to buy my ring right in front if me. He then said "I don't understand? I've sat with you for 45mins! Haven't I answered every question you had? Didn't I tell you I can make anything for you? Why wait? Look at her! She loves it! How could you say no to her?" First off, 45mins? I'm sorry, I thought that was YOUR JOB! And no one else was in the store the whole time! He kept lowering the price using old school cheesy tactics of "Ok, I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm going to go even LOWER!! I can't go any lower unless my Manager says...it's completely out of my hands...let me talk to him." Then this man comes over, hits a million buttons on the calculator (nice attempt at dramatic effect but really?) & says a final price which was great. Problem was, he should've spoken to his employee 1st b/c that final price was actually $50 MORE than what we were just quoted! He kept asking my boyfriend "Is it the price? Is it money that's the problem? We're even giving you a certificate that tells what the ring is really worth & we put your name on it FOR FREE!" Ummm, this isn't Canal Street where I'm trying to get a fake Movado for 10 bucks that'll turn my wrist green. All jewelry stores give you a certificate when you're buying an engagement ring. Then he kept telling us to at least leave a deposit insuring us that if we changed our minds, we could use that same cash on ANYTHING else in the store! Wow! Thanks for the education on store credit. When we insisted on leaving he asked for my boyfriend's email add to send us photos of the ring. We never got anything. I guess that's not a good answer. I stopped briefly at a case of children's jewelry and I was immediately approached again. He asked what I was looking at so I mentioned a charm bracelet (but I really didn't like it) so he proceeded to take it out of the case. "It is beautiful, don't you want it for your daughter?" "I'll give you a great price." I told him it's gold and all her jewelry is silver." He kept insisting that it's beautiful - he wasn't getting the hint, I don't like it. I saw the prior comments on this website and had to respond. I am unaffiliated with the store, and have purchased several high end items from them and have never been disappointed. They have a very nice collection at great prices. Unlike other stores, they actually remember who their customers are!! I've read other reviews about the sales persons being a bit pushy and there is some truth to this, although from my experience, they do this in a polite and cordial way and are never rude, which is what, at least I, would expect from a good salesperson. In any case, I regard myself as a mature adult that can handle a bit of pressure, especially since it meant that I got a great price for what I was looking for. If you feel they are too pushy - simply say "no" - that's all it takes (at worst you will get an even better price for the item - what's the harm in that?). Believe me, you will not be the first, nor the last person to say no at the store. If you want great merchandise at great prices - this is the place for you. read more
