We Had a similar experience to Amanda. The women behind the counter were helping us find a wedding band when Bobby Asswipe came over and picked on our engagement ring. I didn't get upset as I realized that he was just pissed that he didn't get the original sale of the engagement ring. I had the worst experience in this store. A man who seemed to be the owner, was extremely rude and almost cruel. I went there to simply add something to my engagement ring to make it fit better and he tore it apart with very harsh words when I wasn't even asking for his opinion. Keep in mind that i had just got engaged and he crushed me! The women who are very nice kept telling him to shut up, but he just kept on going. I then broke down in tears and felt like I just couldn't wait to get the hell away from this man. I would think that it is common sense and just plain decency to not tell a soon to be bride that their ring is a piece of crap. I did not ask for anyone's opinion at all, I just needed two tiny balls put on the inside of my engagement ring to make it fit better. My ring is beautiful and I have received many compliments on it, but it obviously was not up to this mans standards. Once he realized what an a-hole he was being he told me that he was having a bad day. Well, he sure ruined mine! I would not bring any jewelry to this man to be fixed or even appraised because apparently you are expected to be very rich and have very expensive jewelry. Thank goodness for great neighbors. After visiting quite a few so called giold buyers I was told about Robert Damian Jewelers from a neighbor who had a rewarding experience with them when she sold some of her jewelery. I must say Kathy and Nick were gracious,professional and offered a much higher price than the others. Jokingly I told Nick that my husband went to a local barber for a haircut and was told they buy gold. Of course my husband did not listen and went back with my bracelet. The price he got was almost half of what Kathy offered me. I told my husband that they give him a nice haircut but as gold buyers Ihey stink. Nick's reply was leave the gold buying to the professionals like us. We don't cut hair and they should not be buying gold. read more
