I had a very disappointing experience with this business. I initially brought in two rings, one for…read morereshaping and another for a diamond replacement and repair. The ring that was repaired was significantly over-polished, and I was given a replacement diamond that did not match the quality or grade of the existing diamonds in the ring, which was visibly noticeable. I returned to the store, where I was told the diamond grade and gold weight had not been recorded, though they acknowledged the over-polishing issue and diamond grade issue. I was then informed that a casting would be ordered so my original diamonds could be reset due to the over-polishing. However, when I returned, I was told the casting could not accommodate my diamonds because they were different sizes--meaning the stone measurements were not taken before the casting was ordered. At that point, I was told a fully custom ring would need to be made to fit my diamonds, which made me very hesitant. Eventually, the custom ring was completed, but I was not satisfied with the result. The color of the gold appeared different, and I was never informed that the original ring's weight had not been documented. I later called to confirm whether the ring was solid gold and was told it was. However, only a few months after receiving the new ring, it has significantly bent. My previous ring lasted 6-7 years without any structural issues, so this level of bending so quickly is very concerning. Overall, what started as a repair issue turned into an ongoing problem with communication, quality, and craftsmanship. I am very disappointed with the final result and the overall experience.

It was going to be an expensive repair, which I had not anticipated. He made a suggestion to take all the diamonds out and scrap the rest of the necklace, which has significant gold weight, so I did just that! I picked out a diamond eternity band that I've had my eye at Argyle for about two years and with the high price of gold, I got the new ring in trade plus cash too! I went back again today, after he took out all the diamonds, and he spent nearly an hour with me to make 2 perfectly matching stacking diamond eternity bands to go on either side of the ring that I purchased the day before. And even though he has a very active business to run, we sat and chatted for several more minutes about our daughters and similar circumstances. A very pleasant experience. I can't wait to get my new rings!

The great reviews lead us to Candy's on a quiet rainy afternoon. The only ones in the store he was made to feel like a king, asking all sorts of questions as kids his age do and wanting to more or less see everything. Candy was beyond patient and helpful, letting him see the pieces in the price range I'd mentioned and put them side by side so he could make his choice. In the end he picked out the necklace he like best and was thrilled that we walked out with it giftwrapped, bagged and ready to go for mommy. I was quoted a flat fee price, the shop sized my finger for the rings, when I received them they were too big! I was informed there was an additional fee to "re size" the rings. I also sold several rings with stones in them for scrap, Candys did not pop out the stones which I later found out reputable jewelers do, nor did I get itrmized bills of jewelry I sold her. Expensive lesson learned. My message here is know your jewelry and shop around.

I purchased 3 rings and a necklace in mid December for holiday gifts for $1,023.75. When purchasing, I did not know sizes, but the saleswoman told me it did not matter as all the rings in the store are large and 6.75 in size. That I could simply come back after Christmas and they can be fitted and sent out for the right size which takes about two weeks. So I return on 12/29/19 to have the rings sized and so they can be exchanged for the right size. The saleswoman this day now tells me I have to pay $25 per ring for sizing as is charged on all ring purchases. She then tries to get me to sign a form authorizing a repair. What repair? This is a brand new item, I simply need the correct size. I go online on my phone to kay.com to purchase the same ring in the size I need and go all the way to checkout. Guess what, at no time am I charged a $25 sizing fee. So I challenge what the saleswoman is telling me to which she replies "I am offended by your accusation, but I will not charge the $25 fee per ring". I don't mind paying for something legitimate, but I also don't like being taken advantage of. At no time was I ever informed of any additional fees during my initial purchase. And obviously they want to move product, so they said to purchase the large size (which is the only one available) and simply exchange it later for the correct size which takes two weeks. I just wanted to put this out there for other customers going back after the holidays that you do not have to pay for sizing and it is not a repair. At worst, go online and purchase the correct size on Kay.com and return your current item. Shame on Kay Jewelers for trying to use deceptive methods to make extra money on loyal customers. I am one customer that will not be going back.

One staff person finished up with a guest as I walked in, and then she passed right by me (without saying a word to me) and went to the computer to do work. Another staff was working with another customer. I of course don't expect her to stop working with that guest to help me, but either of them could have said "we'll be with you in a few minutes" or "welcome to the store" or literally anything. They didn't seem like they wanted the business that day so I walked out and went to another jewelry store where I bought my wedding band and won't be going to that Kay again.
