Ben's Auto Body has been a customer of mine for very many years. So obviously when my car got hit? I decided to choose them for repairs. That's where I went wrong. I dropped my car off on 9/15 for the next day appointment on a Tuesday. Monday I call for an update. Sadly, it was not one I wanted. My car is a 2024 with only 22k miles on it. Fairly new. They informed me that Thursday, they found it dead. No notification to me. Use the jumpstart button. Can't. We locked the car and can't get in. Bring an extra key. I only have a fob not a blade. It won't work. Yes it will. I drive up there 7pm at night. See? Don't work. Next day, how are we going to handle this? After several thoughts and ideas, a locksmith was needed to come break into my car for they do not store a break in tool kit in their facility. To continue, September 26, I requested the supplemental list of parts and labor after being told my job would be one day and only 2 1/2 hours. Why don't I have my car? List shows my bumper is coming from Bangor, ME 10/25. I called my Hyundai dealer, he could have a bumper from the warehouse in 2 days or if I needed one today I could get it. Thank you. I let them know. They stated no, it wasn't the bumper. It was the reinforcement beam that was going to be late. All parts will be here tomorrow. A few days later, I called to check in. I was informed that my car will be postponed several weeks due to my insurance company not approving the supplement or further work. I call my insurance adjuster, she states how I'm being treated is unacceptable. That the way insurance claims work is the open the job with the body shop. When the car is done? They submit the bill to the insurance agency to be paid. My insurance adjuster called Ben's auto body. I get a call shortly after. My car will be done by the end of the week. After that point my adjuster was working as an advocate between myself and the shop. Monday, 10/6, I received a call from Ben's auto body. They gave my car to a different technician who was faster and would get the job done quickly. My adjuster agreed that it would be done by Wednesday. 10/8, my insurance agent calls me and tells me my car is in for detail and calibration. I asked if I could have it tonight? She informed me I could call the shop and find out. There was nothing more that she could do. I call, to my dismay, I'm informed the technician working on my car has been out All week and my car hasn't been touched. Disgusted. Completely. Disgusted. All I want is my car back. 10/9 I get up in the morning and drive up to Ben's. My car is still in the position and spot it's been in for days. I took a picture to show a friend of mine. He noticed that an electronic control device with wires were left unprotected out in the rain all night due to the bumper not covering them. If, if it doesn't cause complications now....what will my bill be in the future due to water getting into it? Every shop I've known other than this one always protected the electrical. Epic fail. I've been in the automotive industry for over 30 years. Never have I heard so much contradictory statements from each service member yet, having no work done at all. To give me a snide attitude when I call. Such disregard for customer service and expect me to write a rave review? I think not. I will not recommend Ben's Auto Body or have interest of doing business with them. If you would enjoy losing your car for weeks on end? Being Misinformed, misguided and misled? Please, call 603-436-3115 Do better. 10/10- I got my car back with great hesitation, they wanted to keep it til Monday to buff out a paint blemish. No give me my car back. Ok. I get there and start going over my car. I'm not seeing the paint blemish? But I do see the trunk lid that was crooked and the taillight not sitting correctly weren't fixed. He offered to fix them. At what cost? How much time? No. I got in my car, turned on the radio and drove away with no looking back. read more

A friend recommended Ben's after a black ice incident this winter. I was very pleased with their spot-on quote and seamless work with my insurance company. I received an estimate from Dale for a cash repair of $2150 in March. I brought the car in last week for a bumper repair. I then received a call. We didnt notice some hidden damage you are going to need some additional parts costing $21, $35, and $775. "I also ordered the wrong bumper cover - that will be an additional $240". When it was ready for pick up (timely) I got a message please call us. There is an additional charge for the core bumper cover to be returned to the manufacturer of $150. Its a plastic cracked bumper cover with a football size hole in - why would they want it back? Yet this $150 is charged as a part. Suffice, total bill $3,493.50 - just an uptick of 61.5% over estimate. The body work was great but the additional uptick is BS. Here's a thought, be more thorough in your initial estimate and know wtf parts you are ordering. read more

I reviewed them two years ago and now had the please of getting my car fixed there again. Someone hit me sitting at a stop light a few weeks back. No fear, I thought, Bens Auto will fix it. Outstanding service still. Jerry is excellent. The whole process was very easy, including getting a rental car right at Ben's. Highly recommend this place if you need body work done on your vehicle. Needed auto body repair on my Santa Fe which was damaged by a truck, thank you to the driver for waiting until I cam back to my car. I took it to Ben's and the did a great job and in less time than they quoted, also got my rental through them while they did all the contact with the Insurance companies. I never had any work done here, but I included them in my 3 bids to get some minor repair work done on my car - funded by me, not my insurance company. They were by far the highest by almost double. I can't speak to the quality of their work, I'm sure it's excellent. But I was amazed that they could've come up with such a high price for the same exact work, when most of these estimates are done based on standard procedures and pricing. They have a good reputation and have been in the area for a while, but I would be sure to shop around, especially if you're paying out-of-pocket. read more

I have terrible anxiety about cars. I hate dealing with insurance companies, I hate dealing with people trying to pull a fast one on me and I absolutely HATE trying to figure out the quality of the people I am dealing with. I moved to the New England area in December so I didn't really know anything about what shops to use after I ran over something in the road, but literally everyone I met recommended me to Bens and with good cause. I was fighting with the insurance company for two weeks with very little progress.... but then I dropped my car off at Bens and they are now taking care of EVERYTHING! I wish I had known about them sooner and saved myself the time and stress of dealing with adjusters and customer service reps who don't really want to do anything but make filing a claim nearly impossible. Not only that, but they don't use after market parts which is HUGE! They even have a cute little display that shows the difference in quality between the parts that they use and the parts that are "qualified" to be used. Its terrifying! All and all, this experience could not have been better for me. They are very great with me, always calling me and updating me throughout the process and being very realistic with me. Brought my Ford Edge here after it was hit twice, on two different instances. I brought it in for two price quotes which were done within 15 minutes and then scheduled to bring it in for repair a few weeks later. Beth took care of everything! We showed up to drop the Edge off and the car rental was ready and all we had to do was take care of some paperwork and we were on our way. Picked the edge up yesterday and once again, Beth had taken care of all of the paperwork with the insurance companies and we were on our way. The car looks great, excellent workmanship. I recently had auto body work done at Ben's Auto Body for my Subaru. I needed the passenger door replaced after an accident. The team at Ben's was wonderful. They handled all the insurance paperwork and payments, they were friendly, courteous and patient with all my concerns. I am over the top impressed with the staff and technicians, my car looks brand new. They even took the extra step to wash, clean & vaccum it, which left me smiling all the way home. They were absolutely wonderful to work with! I believe it was Matt that worked on my car and he was extremely nice and did an amazing job. My bumper had to be replaced it was seamless and was done within 3 days! I also ended up calling while they were working on the bumper and getting them to look at some dents in my hood, they repaired them that day I was then able to pick up my car that night! Would highly recommend and hopefully don't need to use them again anytime soon, but will definitely come here if I need any work done. OH they also vacuumed and cleaned up the inside of my car it looked new when I picked it up, very happy read more

Brought my car to Ben's for an estimate after receiving estimates from two other body shops. The woman at the front desk was not friendly from the beginning & asked me almost immediately if this was an insurance job. In that moment, irrelevant as I was just looking for an estimate. I waited about 10 minutes for a gentleman to look at the damage on my car. As we stepped outside and I started to show him the damage he cut me off and asked if this was an insurance claim. I let him know I wasn't sure how I was handling it yet as I was just looking for an estimate on the damage. He proceeded to tell me that if it's an insurance claim the insurance company never gives the client's enough to cover the damages as they tend to be pricey-er than their competitors and i'd have to pay the difference out of pocket. I said money is not of concern right now as all you're giving me is an estimate. After reviewing the damage and giving me an estimate, i brought the estimate to my car & compared it to the other two estimates I'd received. Ben's was significantly cheaper than the other two quotes i had received. I walked right back in and asked to schedule an appointment. The expression on the gentleman's face as well as the woman working the front desk was pure shock. This experience was discriminatory as I am a young woman and they immediately judged me from the moment I walked in the door that I wouldn't be able to afford their work with or without my insurance company's assistance. The work done on my car was fantastic and they detailed the interior & exterior. Their body work is wonderful, their customer service is something they should be ashamed of. read more

Just wanted to thank everyone at Ben's Auto Body for taking care of my little convertible which needed a windshield and some damage fixed and repainted around it. They took care of everything with the insurance company and all I had to do was show up, drop it off and then pick it up - and it looks GREAT! When I was rear ended by the other party, his insurance company did well by me, explaining I could go to a Liberty Mutual Care Shop, and they would do and estimate and LM would pay for repairs and my rental. Their shop did a fast, efficient, fair estimate which I was willing to have my car repaired there, but...knowing Ben's had been a reputable auto body for years, I decided to see what is the difference. They did a superior job after explaining their work and process. I got my car back timely, perfectly clean, and no one would ever know it had been hit. They were prompt, courteous, and there is nothing I can think of that would have made my experience better, both for me and the coordination with the insurance company. Even right down the street is Enterprise, where they helped my get the rental car back. I was a bit late in the day to pick up my car, and they held the shop open. Let's hope I don't need body work anytime soon, but now I wouldn't go anywhere else. In my opinion...superior work and service. Thanks to all at Ben's Auto Body! read more
