I just got the wrong part BS excuse today...they've had our car for two weeks....and today they said they got the wrong part today....so when did they order it? Apparently they say they can get the right part in one day. This place is the worst and the very last place you should go if you don't have a spare car...and you can't wait two or three weeks for a repair. Total disappointmen! Although I scheduled on line, drove a half hour & received a confirmation text, I was told I had no appointment when I arrived. I was then told no one could give me an estimate & that the online scheduler (on their website) was in error & they were trying to dissasociate themselves from it. No apologies, no courtesy!!! The two "bright lights" behind the counter repeatedly asked me about my insurance company. i told them I was prob just going to pay out of pocket. They insisted a few times that the only way I could get an appointment is if I had my insurance company call for an appointment. This place has had my vehicle for 13 days now and has not completed a simple body work. First, they stated they were short staffed. 2nd excuse was that they got the wrong part. 3rd excuse is the part that did not arrive and will not be for another 5 days. When I asked them if I could pick up the vehicle since it's drivable until the part arrives since its only a grill part. They told me the grill part holds the bumper, so I can't . I have never heard of a grill holding a bumper on the vehicle. I told my insurance to stay clear away from them, and I suggest you guys stay clear away, too. read more

NEVER AGAIN! If you would like to lose money and your car for months on end take it to Key. They have the worst customer service, and continue to tell you things that are not true. They could not complete the job for the life of them. They tried to give the car back saying it was done to find out what it went in for was never fixed and unsafe to drive. The second time it was given back there was clearly something still wrong and I had to take it somewhere else again. Excuse after excuse saying they got the wrong parts, or the parts still haven't come in. After reading reviews I see this is a theme. I would not take your car here EVER! Fantastic service!!! Got there after a major accident. I needed the job done fast due to travel arrangements. I also have a Honda Fit, it is discontinued and the parts are sometimes a problem. NOT FOR THESE GUYS! In a week my car was adjusted, pulled to the shop, and repaired. A week later - as good as new. WOW. It took me three weeks in CA to fix the bumper ;) They updated me every single day on the progress, provided the test drive on pickup, quietly arranged the rental return... They even asked if i need help to transfer the stuff from the rental :)! Absolutely recommended, go with these guys! They also are very conveniently located right by the highway. read more

I had a brand new vehicle and I went through my insurance company and they recommended work to be done minor work, I got my car back, and they totally destroyed the paint job, not only on the spot where it was painted, but the whole side scratched the other side the car is literally two weeks old would never recommend this place even though they work is guaranteed they ain't touching my vehicle again !!! Scratches everywhere from bubbles in the paint and debris left and paint it over unacceptable work, and now I have to come up with thousands of dollars to fix what they did. Do not go here ever. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR ANY REASON AT ALL!!!!! Around the end of October, a buddy's gf accidentally backed up into my 2022 Jeep Gladiator, clipping the tail light and scratching the back quarter panel. The tail light still worked properly and I ended up taping it back on for a quick fix until my buddy's gf spoke to her insurance company. I drove the car for about a week until the scheduled time to take it into the recommended collision shop, which is this place. The insurance company handled everything, so when I brought the car into the shop, I walked into the office, gave them my key, and they said it would take about 1, 2 or MAYBE 3 weeks to fix, which was a little frustrating because I work all over the country for music festival's, concerts, and live out of an RV trailer I pull with my Jeep. One week after dropping off the car, I get a call informing my that It was going to take a little longer than first stated because of the strike that was going on, which I had no idea about because I do not have a tv service and really don't bother looking at the news. I told them I needed that car back because I need to be in Colorado before Thanksgiving for a job I had out there. They said they couldn't give the car back because It was completely taken apart. I was extremely upset that I couldn't get the car back and said they should have informed me about the strike, which had been going on for i believe about two months when I drop the car off. The receptionist said I should have known because it was in the news and they had a sign in the shop, which I did not see because I literally walked into the office gave them my key and left to get the rental car the insurance company had set up for me which was waiting outside. 12 WEEKS LATER, I finally get my car back. When I go to pick up the car, a woman walks out to my car with me and informs that the tail light on the opposite side that twas not damaged at all was not working properly. The indicator inside the car would flash very quickly as if a light bulb in the side the tail was one which it was not. I was upset but thought that maybe because It was sitting for so long that it would work it self out, which it did not. I drove the car 6 hours back to where I was staying at the time and the car did not drive the way it did before. Two days after picking up the car, pretty much all of the electronics in the car stopped working. I called the place and demanding to speak with a supervisor, which is when I was transferred to a man named Kyle. I was extremely upset because after 12 weeks of being in there shop for a small amount of damage the car was more screwed up than when I dropped it off. Kyle pretty much laughed at the situation and I ended up hanging up the phone on him. Now I will give them the benefit of Jeep being on strike and the parts taking so long to come in but they should have given my a verbal warning about the strike when I dropped off the car. I would have just kept the car for a while until a few months after the strike because I know how these things go but no, they did not. I was so upset with Jeep and the work that was done on my car I decided to take it to a ford dealership and trade it in for a car company with better service. I end3ed up taking a huge lose on a pretty much brand new car when I traded it in because when the dealership appraised they car they could tell about messed up the car was. I was disappointed that Ben's was too busy to do my Grand Cherokee Summit. My next choice was Key in Portsmouth but they sent me to their facility in Rochester. A very minor front dead center bump at approx 20 mph. I was told they'd need a week so I dropped it off, picked up a rental and came back 8 days later. I found mn roken glass inside one headlight, a still broken piece of trim, a new deny the size of a baseball in the left rear upper quarter and detached inner fender liners (2). Again i left it for a week for the repairs (correction). I came back in 5 days to find what seemed a fixed car. Two weeks later i had a headlight fail, bought a new pair, had them installed. Then on the highway I turned on my adaptive cruise control and got messages saying i needed to clean the sensor - i had just washed it and it was spotless. Then the trim on either side of the bumper cover started to peel back. Again, I fixed it finding that NONE of the attachment points had anything other than 4 plastic rivets. That was August. In February i took my car to the dealer for a 50K check up. They found the brackets that hold the entire headlight assembly in were bent so that the drivers side headlight looks at the ground and the right at the sky. The same for the radar sensor that worked with cruise control so no wonder it was malfunctioning. The end result was an extra aporox $700 bill to repair damages done by the Key body shop in Rochester. My recommendation? If you have a nice vehicle do not take it to Key Auto's body shop. Their warranty means nothing since they do more damage than they repair. read more

I have used them twice and first time a decent repair and was very happy. The 2nd time different repair they did not fully repair area, left visible blemish in paint, over sprayed clear coat to another area and now its rusting. They are preferred vendor for insurance companies so they may have to cut corners. If you use them do not return rental until being very careful on accepting work. They did not go over work in 2nd case where work was subpar. I returned to have the blemish in paint (pictured) reviews and they did something for it but returned after winter. read more

Was pleased to hear my car was ready to pick up until i was told while picking it up that i had to bring it back the next day because they had forgotten about the emblem. I was happy with all the repairs and it looked brand new, however a major concern i do have is that when i brought my car back into the shop to just have the emblem put on, i had 2 gift cards in my glove box, but when the car was returned to me i had 0 gift cards in my glove box. Avoid bringing your car to Key Collision Auto Body in Portsmouth. In Sept I was front ended and the other person's insurance took responsibility for the accident. My insurance company recommended Key Collision and I took my car there. I was given a rental car by the insurance company for 10 days, but if needed, could extend. After 10 days my car was not ready and I applied for the extension. Unfortunately Key Collision was not willing to give the insurance company the documentation needed to extend my rental car, so I became responsible for those days I did not have my car. I have done everything I can to get them to do what was required and they have refused! My only recourse is to go on social media and share this story. Avoid using Key Collision! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Where do I even BEGIN??? My truck was dropped off on Monday 5/18 and was told it would be ready that following Friday 5/22. My bumper was hit when parked, so it needed to be replaced. I ALSO asked for the scratches/scuffs to be painted, since they would have the paint. They sent me an email with an estimate for the extra painting (a bit over $700). I responded RIGHT THEN to approve it. I called Thursday 5/21 and was told my truck wouldn't be ready Friday as they needed a bracket; call Tuesday after memorial day. I did. they now said they had the wrong bumper; it would be ready THURSDAY. When I called THAT day, the "painter was behind", so it wouldn't be ready until FRIDAY. *I* called again and was told out would be ready by the close of business, 5pm. I arrived at 4:30 and inspected my truck before going in. IT WASN'T PAINTED. I went in and was told it would also be more than my estimate because THEY recieved the wrong bumper! I asked about the painting... I was told by Kathy, whom sent me the email re: that price that SHE NEVER RECIEVED MY EMAIL RESPONSE. ARE YOU F*ING JOKING. I have my sent reply in my email on my PHONE. Then the "gentleman" whom I spoke with ABOUT the extra paint work came out and was being argumentative; that it wasn't their fault for not receiving my email response! *I* made EVERY. SINGLE. INQUIRY to them throughout this whole ordeal. As you can see, we spoke several times. NEVER was I asked if I had received their email and if I wanted to go ahead with the touch ups! The lack of communication from this place is ASTOUNDING. I'll be sending this review to every single platform I possibly can. Everything was great from the start to the finish. I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive taking my car here for collision repair. I saw some reviews that weren't great. But, since they are a GEICO certified shop, I figured I could trust them. I'm glad I did. I was impressed the minute I walked in. They greeted me immediately and, within just a few minutes, looked at my car, gave me a rental car and I was out the door. The whole time my car was in the shop, I received updates. Worst service EVER! After personally dropping of my vehicle right at the front door and handing them the keys, I received a call a couple of days later from Key Collision stating that they do not have my vehicle. To make a long story short, they had transferred my vehicle from the Portsmouth location to their Rochester location without even notifying me. Apparently, they didn't notify their own staff either, I figured it out when I was getting calls from both locations. When it was finally ready to pickup (a good week later than I was originally told) I did a quick inspection of the vehicle. The lack of quality in their work was immediately apparent. The driver's door did not close unless you slammed it. The new grill that they put on was not even painted, they just threw it on in the flat black unpainted color instead of matching it to the vehicle paint color. I told them about the door which they took it back to adjust. About 15 minutes later, I got the truck back. The door did not close much better than before, but after I left, I discovered that they didn't tighten something up within the door, now I have a loud rattling happening. Also, the door handle is now loose. When I got on the highway, the vehicle was vibrating like never before. They claim they did a 4 wheel alignment on the vehicle and charged me for one as well, but it is VERY apparent that one was NEVER done. A day or two later, I found out that the horn no longer works either. I have talked with staff at Key Collision several times since then, they are asking for their payment in full, but when I tell them all the things that are still wrong that they did not fix properly, they NEVER asked me to bring the vehicle back in so they could fix the problems, they just tell me that they completed the work and I owe them the full amount. Do yourself a favor and do NOT go to Key Collision Center, go somewhere else and save yourself the grief! read more
