Came here on a whim after seeing the positive reviews. It was easy to find (located in a strip mall) and there was plenty of parking, especially when we pulled in around 8PM. We grabbed seats at the bar & ordered beers from the tap, then perused the refrigerators. There was a smaller selection that I had anticipated but there were numerous beers and breweries that I didn't recognize so I appreciated what they did have to offer. We sat back at the bar and a few mins later, the bartender let us know it was last call for the kitchen. We didn't get food so I can't speak to that but there were a few things on the menu that I would order next time. I thought the service was fine, nothing to write home about. Music was playing, the back wall was stacked with board games and card decks, people seemed to be having a nice time. I'm sure I'll be back to see what new offerings they have in the cold section. Note - it will cost extra $ to have them open the beer you purchase from the fridge. It's totally common practice for a bottle shop but can be off putting if you don't expect to pay to drink the beer you just bought. Cheers! read more

It's time for a review update & 5-star status for Ben's! Their name would leave one to believe it's just a humble taproom & bottle shop, but they serve too-notch food as well. We've come back to Ben's several times over the years and of course the beers they have on tap & the variety of beers in their long wall of coolers is great. What truly vaults them to 5-stars is their fantastic staff & their delicious menu. The menu may be on the smaller side, but its quality ingredients prepared well, and even when it's just a humble sandwich they present it beautifully. I also love that they have vegetarian and gluten-free food options (and a nice selection of gluten-free beverages in the cooler, too). Plus, brunch on the weekends! A hidden gem in the "Couve". A lot of people don't know about. I'll let you in on the secret. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance- Great! It's what you would want from a bottle shop/eatry/hangout. Outdoor seating is half covered, half not. The inside is darker and they play a lot of the local sports on the projector![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food- Once again great! They make some very crafty meals that are pretty fire. Honestly you wouldn't expect it. Bottle shop- This is the reason for the 4 stars. Last time I was in, the selection has dropped off quite a bit. It made me a bit sad and I hope it is not a trend! Service- It is good as order at the counter could be! Bottom Line- Great stop if you're in the neighborhood. Cheers to the beers, but the food wasn't as great. I'll be sticking to the bottles and the brews for all future visits. Ben's Bottle Shop is a shop filled with favorite and unique beers from cool local microbrews and famous distant breweries that also features a bar and small menu for eats. I'd rank the three features in that same order: 1) shop, 2) bar, 3) food. A mighty Max Capacity Imperial IPA (8.0% abv / 50 ibu) from Reuben's Brews (Seattle, WA) and memorable Always Up to Something New England-style IPA (6.20% abv / 40 ibu) from Matchless Brewing (Tumwater, WA) were both draft winners from the tap. A Bacon and Cheddar Burger on Toasted Brioche Bun sounded and truly looked awesome, but really wasn't. I don't know how Bacon burger could be this bland. Oh well, the beers will help me forget about it. As a Tap House and a "to go" beer shop, I'll definitely be back to Ben's Bottle Shop. read more

02/06/2020 The owner hooked me up with some killed nachos today!!! Great service!!! This place has a meatloaf Monday sandwich that is to die for. It's spicy and taste delicious. I don't care much for the romaine lettuce they put on it so I just took it off. The onion, meatloaf and the brioche soft bun is such a good combination. They sold out of the meatloaf sandwich's while I was there. Glad I got mine. A guy came on with his wife and daughter and was really wanting a meatloaf sandwich and he was pretty bummed. He told them they need to make more meatloaf next Monday!! Lol. The beers are really good there and they have one of the biggest selections of beers on the cans or bottles that I have ever seen in Vantucky. I will always come back here. read more

This is a top-notch establishment with the absolute kindest and friendliest staff. I have moved abroad and sadly haven't been able to visit in a few years. A few weeks before Christmas I contacted Ben's via email (time difference) and asked if they could help curate me a selection of beers as a gift for my brother that I could have my sister go pick up. I received quick responses via email, and after a few days of back and forth confirming types of beers and new shipments, I got a phone call to confirm everything. I really wish I could remember the name of the person who helped me because he was SO AMAZING. We had a nice chat, he found some fun snacks and some swag to add to the basket of beers, I paid over the phone, and my sister was able to pick up. He spent so much time making sure everything was perfect for me. The whole process was super smooth and my brother was super stoked about his selections. My favorite local bottle shop that carries all the latest goods! I wouldn't say I'm just a "Stout" girl, or I'm just a "Cider" girl, but I love options. I love the fact they carry just about something for everyone and it NEVER gets boring, meaning they rotate their selection every week or whenever something runs out. They're very good about stocking locally AND some crazy out of states one. Although it is predominately beer, they do have wine bottles, too that one can buy for the lady/men. Sometimes when we wanna have fun, we'll also order something off their tap menu because not everything is bottled yet :( I'm so glad to have this in Vancouver. I'll be back !!!! read more

A review purely based on the "bottle shop" in the title, as I didn't have a chance to sample the food. A good bottle shop should pride itself in the reach of their offerings from independent brewers. What you get here is beer that's readily available at local breweries within about a 25 mile radius. One is hard-pressed to get further than, say, Eugene. It would be nice if they would stock beers from Seattle, Northern California, even Colorado, as many fine bottle shops in other cities would do. Instead, almost all I can buy here is what I can get when I visit local breweries, which I already do. read more

We wondered in on an overcast Sunday just after 12 noon. An oddish place with a large horse shoe bar and tables for 2 -4. Fairly slim food offerings and many tv's with sports. 24 tap beers and tons more in bottles available. The sheet with the tap beers was incomplete, as many did not include the IBU and none had even short reviews, like how hoppy, malty, sweet, etc. My Cuban sammy was good and I'd order it again. It had a nice savvy taste that included cumin without being hot/spicy. Smokey pulled pork. Maybe a bit more cheese would have been good. My potato salad is good and was chunky. The homemade pickle was excellent. My date's chicken noodle soup was good but too heavy on the herb thyme, and could have been served with a soup or table spoon because the teaspoon made getting to the noodles challenging. The apple cider vinegar it was excellent on the salad and provided a nice contrast to the beer choice which was Breakside cultivated Mass Porter. My beer was Coalition Two Flowers IPA. It was nice, but lacked the subtle fruity hops I love. Overall a good experience. read more

I've never heard of Ben's Bottle shop until I saw an event on Facebook. Naturally as a beer enthusiast, I decided to check them out. Actually what drew me in day was this "Rebranding event" sponsored by Everybody's Brewing and Ben's. Showed up at ten after three. Was met with a good greeting from bartender. That was unfortunately the only good thing about this place. As I inquired about the "Rebranding party" was told, "oh they'll be here later tonight" despite it being advertised from 3pm-6pm. Even the flyer on the door and Facebook says this. So far I've been here an hour, was not approached by the bartender except to pay my tab. No, hey do you need anything else or would you like to see the food menu. This has been the worst customer service I've seen at a tap house. Any good tap house would want to check up on your customers and make sure you keep them happy. Beer list was subpar, [[HIGHLIGHT]]general atmosphere was average[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], prices for a drink was outrageous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only plus side was it was clean and well maintained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only reason I'm giving this a two star and a D average in my places to eat/drink in Vancouver. read more

Wife and I stopped for lunch and a beer. Wife ordered the pulled pork with Mac&cheese and I had the Pastrami Reuben. Mac & Cheese was good and the pork was MOIST. The Reuben was fantastic. Great flavor and just the right amount of smoke on the pastrami. The cheese, house made sauerkraut and Russian dressing brought everything together. They also have a huge beer selection. First time here on a Friday night. Very busy but you can easily find a table. They have great selection of beers. Impressive! I have never been in any bar with that much choices. Plenty of parking but very busy. Allow time. They are next to planet fitness. Food wise, it was good. I enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich with a side of potato salad. Went here for lunch a few weeks back and had the BEST Reuben sandwich I've ever had. It really was perfect. Very flavorful with just the right ratio of bread, meat, cheese, sauerkraut and sauce. A Reuben should be an easy sandwich to make, but so many other places get it wrong. Out of all the bars/restaurants in town, THIS is the place that makes the very best Reuben.
