Nice, causal spot in downtown Camas. It's cozy, fast and friendly. Nice covered outdoor space and is good for events. Their food is really good, and cakes are great. Though. It sure if they are made in house or not. Good happy hour with lots of pretty good sized options. Amazing beer selection like so many I can't count. Each place in Camas has their niche and this place is no exception, though their are other brew pups and tap houses in walking distance, each offers something different. We have attended several events here and just gone for the heck of it for lunch and dinner. They have a really wonderful menu and I especially like the burnt and sandwiches and the giant pretzels. They have great iced tea. They have incredible desserts and I am told the beer selection is really good. We have had their pizzas and several other items on the menu. We have been coming here about eight years now I think this review is long overdue. Definitely would try the menu out at least come for lunch. You will be back for dinner. They have a wonderful outdoor space that's been there since Covid that has lots of sunlight and plenty of room to just breathe and stretch out Personally I like the tables and booths inside. This little spot is in Camas. Close to the mill. It has a huge outdoor area and also plenty of room in different spaces inside. They have a huge selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. My friend and I came for lunch today. We stopped iced tea, but it was very tasty and was refilled many times. We each had a house salad, which was very large with fresh ingredients. Chicken wings were out of this world! They are having made, and crispy, tender, and spicy. We shared a Hawaiian pizza. They do is really tasty. Crispy but has a lot of texture. Topping is fresh and delicious. Definitely will be coming back here. They have a cool area with a stage to have music. Check it out when you're down an Camas. ! read more

They deserve to have a 4.3 rating overall. Somehow, they are stuck at 3.9. Let me explain why they deserve 4.3: This place is phenomenal at what it is- a casual, easygoing place with good energy to grab *a beer at a time* and also eat tasty food and watch live music. It's nothing fancy, maybe 1 step up from a dive, but it has character. It's the kind of place with a large menu and rotating specials, where you order at the bar and take a number. I've tried the chicken pot pie special (truly outstanding!), the smoky fries (solid- though the ranch is A+), and the buffalo chicken salad (meh). But to be honest, you shouldn't come to this place if you're seeking a salad. This is a place to eat comfort food, enjoy your favorite beer from a decent sized tap list, and watch local characters. If you show up on a night with live music, expect a fun middle-aged to older crowd dancing their hearts out. It's phenomenal people watching. I've only been twice, but it's definitely a place I'd like to come back to! read more

We came here on a whim as we drove by and thought "What a neat name." The experience was fun. The beer list is incredible, and the burgers and pizzas were delicious. We had a fantastic meal, and had beers to go (in crowlers). I wish parking was a little easier around the place, but that's not their fault, that's just part of being in downtown Camas. It was a fun time, and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back and will bring friends :) read more

The inside is absolutely charming with it's big-space rambling feel. The outside has an industrial feel to it, but it at least provides more space and compliments the inside on a nice day. The service is "at the bar" ordering and that's okay too. Our group of four had a Caesar salad: flavorless, dreadful; a burger with fries: ordinary, maybe a bit small; a humus plate: pita that was as old and dry as if had come directly from Egypt's Second Dynasty, terrible; but taking the cake was a nacho which was topped with processed cheese, think ballpark cheese, and flavorless. If your team was up by double digits, okay, but otherwise a 1962 Mets 40-120 but without Marvelous Marv Throneberry and ol' Casey to help you smile at the Velveeta. Great long beer list. read more

I loved the beer and it's a cute place. We go to Grains of Wrath a lot so maybe we are used to that which is always a fantastic experience. The server was unhappy, the food was okay and we even had a customer be unkind to our group. I feel bad because I love local but we won't be back. read more

The biggest issue with A Beer at a Time is that they do not have any sort of social distancing or mask policy whatsoever, so if you're at all anxious about potential exposure, steer clear. With that said, the staff regularly sprayed the tables down with a very peculiar-smelling cleaner (think "port-a-potty deodorizer") that left an odd, chalky tackiness to the thickly lacquered tables, tended to linger in the air for quite a while, and occasionally burned my eyes. The tables are charming and are literally single large slabs of lumber. The benches are also long, single slabs, making for a jostling experience when anybody sits down or gets up. A Beer at a Time doesn't seem to offer much for non-beer drinkers. The menu has a wide variety of items, and I opted for a Margherita pizza. For what it cost (very pricey for its size), it should have tasted a lot better than it did. The sauce was bland and watery, the mozzarella didn't melt super well, and tasted like sliced store-bought part-skim, low-moisture fare. The crust also had a weird, unsalted saltine cracker flavor. If you're into beer (I'm not), A Beer at a Time would probably be quite to your liking. I've never seen as large a selection as that offered here. I came here to see one of my favorite bands play. As a concert venue, it leaves a lot to be desired. Despite the acoustic treatments on the ceiling and walls, the acoustics are terrible. All of the tables and seats in the area with the stage are all oriented 90 degrees to the stage, meaning that none of the seats actually face the stage. Patrons must either turn their heads to the left or to the right to see the performers. This area is also dominated by two very long "community" tables that are honestly too big for area with the rest of the seats and tables that line the walls. These were both completely full of patrons who clearly had no interest in seeing the band, and once the band started playing, they raised their voices to shout at each other accordingly. The only reason I'll come back is to see bands play. I'll try different menu items to see if they fare any better. If you're a beer enthusiast who likes quaint pubs, you'll likely love this place. If not, A Beer at a Time will likely disappoint. read more

Last time we are coming here. We ordered nachos, the chips were from a bag and the cheese sauce tasted and looked like 7/11 gas station. The spinach and artichoke dip that we have ordered several times before and was on the road delicious minus the burnt pita bread that came with it this time was a bowl of green spinach baby food. It tasted horrible and no artichokes were in it. We decided to give this restaurant another try after we had to take back the kids Mac and cheese last time that was drowning in cheese and looked like a bowl of cheese soup. Service depends on who you deal with, but as a walk up ordering system, you're not really expecting to be waited on. If you're going on a weekend be aware the music can get pretty loud. Met friends here on a Saturday around 1! Parking was easy to find, and I love that they have a nice back door patio. I was very impressed by the food, drinks, and service! We ordered the Old Fashioned and the Vodka Lemonade. Both drinks were very well made, tasty, and gave a proper buzz! We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel, BLT, and Meatball Trio. BEYOND HORRIBLE SERVICE HERE! Their bar setup/ordering setup is terrible. They always only have one person behind the bar. So when it's busy the line to order beer & pizza goes all the way through the restaurant... They need to have somebody taking orders and somebody pouring beers. As they currently have it set up, they have the one person behind the bar taking your order and pouring drinks/beers. It just doesn't work... It takes too long to order and get your drinks and it holds up the line. Their food is mediocre . We used to really like their pizzas... But the past 3-4x we've been here their pizza has been really bad. As for their other food, everything else is microwaved. They have three microwaves back in their kitchen-- and their kitchen is tiny! The lady at Adams bar right kitty corner (one of our favorite places to go) mentioned to us that they microwave everything. (Gross!) This restaurant does not have any functioning grill set up in their kitchen. We will not be going back we've decided. We spent $100 there last night and our meal and beers were totally mediocre. We were beyond disappointed. Don't waste your money and time coming here... Either go to Adams bar right down the street or go to Nuestra Mesa. MUCH better food at those places. read more

Beer good, food bad is how I would summarize our latest visit. In Nov. 2023, I had the burnt ends BBQ sandwich that came w/ fries. With beer & tax it totaled $17.45. Returned on 5/18 and had the same sandwich which came with a bag of chips - tacky; no fries. With beer & tax it totaled $26. My wife had a green chili burger and she questioned whether it was beef. They are very strict on their cleanliness here which is very reassuring. They clean ever table consistently. They have a large beer menu and great happy hour! While being served food on paper products is fine for a sporting event, this was lunch at a restaurant and not a local football game. Who doesn't love A Beer At a Time!? It's an awesome spot right in the heart of Camas and for a nerd like me, it's perfect because they have their own parking lot! The space inside is massive! I love the picnic style seating, the pinball machines, and the outdoor patio available on a warm day. I personally haven't been on a night when they have had a show, but I definitely plan in checking it out when they do have a group passing through. The variety of beer is out of this world, and I just love staring at their giant wooden chart and seeing what will peak my interest when I come in. It's an awesome spot to come in causally with friends because the tables are so huge. For me, I would say the food is fine, not anything too exciting for bar food. It could honestly use some more flavor, but if you're in here for beer and a fun, chill time you're definitely at the right place. The bathrooms are also single stall, and on busy weekend nights I always wish they had multiple-stall bathrooms The line gets crazy long! read more
