We had a pretty "Heated" 3 way phone call with us, Oxford's insurance lady" Mrs Laura" and Delta Dental. After 65 years I have never come across a Dental Practice that doesn't honor their agreements with insurance companies. $ 4,195 treatment and Oxford wants me to pay $3,195 over 6 months because Delta Dental will pay over 18 months. Our other insurance is paying them $1,000. Why do we pay for insurance if Dental Offices still wants us to pay up front. Don't use Oxford unless you can pay upfront for services and let them pay you back when your insurance pays them. Do we get interest for that money owed to us?

My experience has been a nightmare of poor communication, lack of transparency, and unprofessionalism. 1. Conflicting Information & Billing Errors I received a statement for a balance I wasn't expecting. When I first called, the office admitted it was an "error" and told me to ignore it. Two weeks later, I received the exact same bill. This shows a complete lack of internal coordination. 2. Extremely Rude Front Desk I called again on 01/07/2026 at 3:30 PM to resolve the recurring issue. The staff member who answered was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of helping, they were combative and couldn't--or wouldn't--properly explain the charges. 3. Lack of Transparency This office has my insurance information on file, which means they know exactly what is and isn't covered. Despite this, they proceeded with treatment that wasn't covered without asking for my approval first. When I finally stopped by the front desk in person, they gave me a completely different reason for the charge than what was said on the phone. Final Verdict The way this office operates is unprofessional and dishonest. They are not transparent about costs and the staff does not show the minimum courtesy required when talking to customers. While they couldn't knock me out, the doctors at Snodgrass-King did everything they could to make me comfortable, and it turned out to be an awesome experience! I was given medicine to help me relax the night before and morning of the appointment, given nitrous to help me (feel loopy) relax more. Kathryn and Dr. Claire had me good and numb when she gave me the shot to numb my tooth, and had a jazzy little technique where she shook my lip back and forth to distract from the feeling of the shot, which totally worked. They made the suggestion that I wear headphones during my procedure, which I did, and I didn't feel a thing. Dr. Claire was thorough and patient and understanding, and did an outstanding job. I didn't have to sit in the waiting room for an hour, I was there about three minutes before I got called back and they got started immediately. I also had a cleaning, and Amber was the best hygienist I have ever had. Again, very professional. thorough, and very gentle on my teeth (seeing as how feeling those metal picks scraping my teeth makes me want to claw the covering off the arm rests, this was a good thing). Snodgrass-King gets a lot of flack for taking children back without their parents. I took my then 7 year old daughter there for a filling she needed, and she went back no problems. I will admit that I felt a bit of anxiety (ME, not HER) letting my precious baby go back without me, but I retired to the adults only area and enjoyed the coffee bar and big comfy couches while she had her work done. When she came out, I expected her to come to me in tears telling me how terrible it was. Instead, I got a half smiling (one side of her mouth was still completely numb) and happy kid who had absolutely no fear of the dentist. I have come the conclusion that us over-protective parents going back with the kids gives them the impression that there is something that they SHOULD be afraid of, which is probably wahat has led to my distaste for the dentist chair. This was a FANTASTIC experience and I have already scheduled my next appointment to have the one other tooth worked on that I need done. First, he knew when to start, which meant waiting a year to not start too early. Then, when the time was right, he put them both in an expander, top braces across the front, and a reverse headgear. Sounded intimidating at first, but my kids were so resilient and pros in no time. In less than 6 months, both kids' bites were corrected and no longer hitting. They're on track to get their braces off soon! So grateful to Dr. Lucas and the team for their expertise, friendliness and patience to 2 young boys, and saving those permanent teeth from getting damaged.
