I read the reviews of everyone raving about this place so my boyfriend and I stopped for breakfast while on a road trip. I'm not sure what all the hype is about. It was quite mediocre as far as the food goes. We thought we would be having a life-changing experience based off of the reviews I read but that was definitely not the case. Literally the biggest, best breakfast I've ever had. Super friendly staff, very comfortable atmosphere. They will not serve you food that isn't cooked to perfection, and the breakfast quesadilla was nothing short of that. The staff was friendly, the service was fairly quick and the coffee was good. Honestly, I don't understand why ppl are so ga ga over this place. While I was there, there were seven different ppl that came in to pick up orders that they ordered over the phone. It was very crowded and I went on a Monday morning at about 10:00AM. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and a side of grits. OMG. It was horrible. The first thing I tasted was the hashbrowns. All I could taste was grease and there was no brown about the hashbrowns. They were under cooked, not crispy or had any crunch. The bacon was also greasy like it had been sitting awhile. The eggs were so over cooked, they were brown. One bite of the grits was all I could handle. Instant grits from a dinner that serves breakfast all day??? I noticed that they use a microwave quite a bit t warm up biscuits, etc. And, the place is filthy. I have had "intestinal" issues all day. I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

This is the best greasy spoon that I have ever been to. The coffee is good, food is good, and you get a ton of it. My favorite sandwich is the Philly and they do a fantastic job of it. Classic 24 hour American diner in Fort Smith Arkansas. Food is great. Decaf coffee is uber weak almost water, everything else was great. But the decaf was fresh and hot and as it was raining so hard that there were cars stalled because of flash flooding right on US-64 we did not care. Very happy to work with Gluten Free request. The food, prices, and service are simply put here...Good. If you miss the feel of an old time cafe where the locals meet and talk about the current events, and still have great biscuits and gravy then this is the place. We were lucky enough to be told of this place by a local. Went late on a Sunday night. Staff extremely friendly! I had the meat-o-rama, which had some zing from the "bacon jam". Very good! Food was fine, not great. I had the breakfast special. Bacon could have been cooked another 2 minutes, but it was ok. My problem was with the waitress who cleaned off a table, scooping up food left there, garbage, and for the next 35 minutes, she never washed her hands. I love this little diner! The whole crew are as friendly as can be. I stop in here every time I come to Ft. Smith from Colorado. (I have eaten in here twice this week!) Their menu is typically Southern and although you probably can't call it "health food", there's no question the food is delicious and comforting. Besides, where else will you find a dish as interesting as the Benson's Burger Bowl: "A big bowl of Crinkle-Cut fries, topped with a burger, white gravy, an over-medium egg, crumbled bacon, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese". I used to love this place for the pancakes! However last time my husband and I ate there it took all I had not to throw up in my seat! The cook was wearing gloves to make our meal but afterwards took them off, I saw him go in the bathroom and come back out in about 1 minute scratching his head, and then continued cooking other customers meals with no gloves. I then saw him picking stuff out of the ingredient trays by the grill and eating it while cooking. I saw him scratch his head a few more times then a couple ordered salads this is where I about lost it! He reached in and got the lettuce, cheese, etc barehanded still and then put his hands in the salad and tossed it!! No just no! It was about 4am and the restaurant was officially over run. I take that as a sign of good food. The jute box was blaring. It was like I felt the vibrations more than I heard them. The waitress said there was about a thirty minute wait on food. I liked being informed and since I wasn't in a hurry I waited. I tried the wifi but never got connected. Many of the other costumers seemed to have come from bars around town. That doesn't bother me but might be worth mentioning. When the jute box finally cut off I was glad. I was getting a headache. The meal came in about twenty minutes. The bacon cheese burger was good but the long strips of bacon extended well beyond the bun. I had to attend to that. The chilly cheese fries were fantastic. That and a drink was just over eleven dollars. I couldn't finish it all. The chilly cheese fries were a meal by themselves. Most other patrons seemed to be ordering breakfast. I will have to investigate those dishin the future.I would have given a much higher rating if it wasn't for the jute box. read more

i want to see this place get up to at least 4 starts. i live down the street from this diner and couldnt be happier to have this place so close. open 24 hours and can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at anytime. its a greasy little hole in the wall but you get what you pay for. the burgers are fresh, never frozen and everything is made to order. if you specify crispy or extra, you get it. the service is always amazing and prompt. they are best for breakfast foods. read more

Went in for Sunday brunch with the wife choosing the GOTcha, mentioned by other reviewers, and I had the Benson Burger Bowl with fries on the bottom, a burger patty, an over-easy egg, and topped with gravy and shredded cheese. My wife raved over the biscuits on her GOTcha and actually having sausage in the gravy. My Bowl was great and very filling. The place is a fantastic value and I imagine late nights are crazy in the place. Definitely going back!! read more

Had Breakfast with soon to be bride. Chicken fried steak and cheesey hashbrowns where good. Egg's came to me almost raw. I did order them over easy so I take resposibility for that.The second eggs were cooked well and the service was wonderful.Both watresses where great.
