Grilled chicken livers with baked potato
    Wendy B.

Back for dinner on the way through. I really need to expand my choices but I just love their chicken livers! They aren't over breaded like so many places get them and are not over cooked. This time I had a baked potato but I didn't eat much of it because I was prioritizing the livers! Their rolls are also always big and fluffy. I get a side of their cream gravy for dipping the livers and roll...yum! The staff is always very friendly. A great stop on 40 if you're driving through!

Farmhouse skillet was very good! The pancakes were delicious also. Friendly hometown feel. Recommend this restaurant.

This place is unbelievably busy! But I got a seat... and I apologize now for my photo as I bit into my Ruben sandwich before taking a photo.. yes I was hungry.. and had a tornado experience in the early morning... do Zi was wired for a meal! Good service, thank you!

Oh my goodness! We were thrilled with our decision to stop here! Big menu of old fashioned favorites! We are traveling from OKC to Birmingham on a Sunday and stopped for lunch. We arrived at 1245 and the place was packed! We were quickly seated and greeted by our friendly waitress! Looking over the huge menu that was supplemented by their Sunday specials we settled on fried shrimp for me and fried chicken livers for my husband. So good and huge portions! They serve a variety of home made pie for dessert and we had to pace ourselves, leaving almost half of our lunch on the plate. (Big portions!) We settled on splitting a piece of coconut meringue pie. As was the rest of the meal, the pie was out of this world. We could see why this place is a hit with the locals! Our waitress was so nice and friendly and the atmosphere was small town America! Very reasonably priced, clean, friendly environment. This is our new stop when traveling on I40!

Friendly service, home cooking, clean. They keep our tea glasses filled. We hear them call customers by name.

The only thing good was the tea. So disappointed. Seeing farmhouse kitchen in the name really thought it would be better.

I was working late Monday evening so decided to place an order, to go, for dinner. The waitress who…read moretook my order over the phone and took my payment was very kind, with a good attitude, and answered the phone in a timely manner. There were a few families enjoying dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with grilled mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. The chicken was a square piece of white meat chicken with no bone. It seemed more like chicken fried chicken with no gravy. I got maybe 1/4 cup of grilled mushrooms if that as seen in the photo. The photo shows my untouched meal. The loaded baked potato, which I paid an extra $2.50 for, had a little shredded cheese and bacon, nothing else. No butter, no sour cream, nothing, just a dry potato with cheese and bacon. They placed 4 packets of ketchup in the bag as well. The food was salted heavily for my taste, the grilled mushrooms more-so than the other food items. I ordered an unsweet tea with this meal and paid $21 and some change. I felt over charged and my meal didn't fit what I expected to received. I would like to add that I have had their breakfast, salads, sandwiches and burgers and they were ALL very good, no complaints, which is why I rated 3 stars. This is the second time I have attempted dinner and have been disappointed. In my opinion, this is more of a breakfast/lunch restaurant.

Brisket Pulled Pork Smoked Turkey Pork Ribs Hot Links and finally... Smoked Baloney. Potato Salad, White Mac and Cheese, Texas Toast, Pickle and Onion. Everything was smoked perfectly - even the baloney, which surprised both of us eating there - and absolutely tender. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. I did not see either a Corn Bread or a Biscuit choice which I would have chosen, but took the usual's just to see how they're done at Rustlers. I'm not a banana for dessert fan, that is, until my dinner guest forced me to have some of Rustlers Banana Pudding. I am now a rabid fan of banana's for dessert. Yes, it's that good. Don't keep whistling down the highway at 80+MPH trying to get somewhere faster than you should. Slow down, stop in, and get some well made BBQ. Sure, you're going to have the "meat sweats" once you've had your fill, but it's all well worth it in the end.
