I was called a "foreigner" even though was born in GA and was stationed here during my entire time in the Army. Then some residents get mad when throw out trash because they said don't live herei can't use the amenities. I guess I look Hispanic and look like a contractor? Let's talk about the rising HOA bill as well, current 2025, it's around $4300 a year, it was $2k when I moved here in 2018 but the board members continue to mismanage the funds and spend it on things they don't need. The board members are all old retired dudes with money who want to try and make Bent tree better than other places. For example, The restaurant here loses half a million a year in production cost and instead of closing it down, they trickle the operation expenses back to the resident because they think a restaurant inside the community somehow makes Bent tree better? read more

Bent Tree is a beautiful golf community an hour and a half away from Atlanta. I visited this place for their buffet brunch this past Sunday and their brunch was nothing extraordinary. It was around $15 per person not including drinks. Their hot food items consisted of your typical breakfast meat (bacon, sausage) fare, eggs, biscuits, gravy, chicken tenders and country fried steak. Servers assist you with their hot food items but everything else is self-serve. There was an array of pastries and fruit options as well. There was also an omelette station that you can customize to your liking. My favorites here are the smoked salmon and French toast. I recently had a disappointing experience at Bent Tree Community while delivering packages. As I got out of my vehicle to make my deliveries, I noticed residents recording videos of me. This behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in the neighborhood. It's concerning to feel like I'm being watched or judged while simply doing my job. Additionally, there's one guy at the gate who always seems to give me a hard time whenever he's on duty. There have been instances where I wasn't allowed to enter at all to deliver packages. I believe that communities should foster a sense of safety and respect for all individuals, including delivery personnel. Unfortunately, my experience here has been quite the opposite. I live, work and play here! I am amazed at the value home for the price. The golf course is beautiful with mountain scenery and very challenging. Pickleball is my added sport. Atlanta is an hour or so away. Now the Peach Pass makes it a breeze to get back and forth to Atlanta. The finest shopping is only an hour away; however I love the nearby boutiques and often find just what I want. read more

Bent Tree in Jasper, GA was a great place to call home until the fees let rising due to inadequate capital improvement planning since the 70's. Now, everything needs updating without funds set aside to complete them. Increases in water treatment and amenity fees are making people uneasy. There are many homes for sale in the community every year. I was lucky to sell mine without taking a loss. I will never pay to be in a gated community again, no matter how lovely the scenery and wildlife might be. read more

I've been told that the Bent Tree Community is a lifestyle, not just a community, and that is so true. Between all of the amenities (golf, tennis, pools, stocked lake, equestrian center, restaurant) and the various committees and planned activities, you can stay as active as you want and still enjoy the peace and quiet of mountain living. We are a gated community and our public safety personnel are first responders, which really increases our sense of security. But all of Bent Tree's employees are friendly & helpful. Bent Tree owns its own water department and has the cleanest, freshest-tasting water around. I can no longer imagine or desire to be living anywhere else. read more
