For future home owners thinking of moving in here or simply renting an Airbnb in here, don't, not…read moreunless you're white. The racism here is insane. I was called a "foreigner" even though was born in GA and was stationed here during my entire time in the Army. Then some residents get mad when throw out trash because they said don't live herei can't use the amenities. I guess I look Hispanic and look like a contractor? Let's talk about the rising HOA bill as well, current 2025, it's around $4300 a year, it was $2k when I moved here in 2018 but the board members continue to mismanage the funds and spend it on things they don't need. The board members are all old retired dudes with money who want to try and make Bent tree better than other places. For example, The restaurant here loses half a million a year in production cost and instead of closing it down, they trickle the operation expenses back to the resident because they think a restaurant inside the community somehow makes Bent tree better?

It was around $15 per person not including drinks. Their hot food items consisted of your typical breakfast meat (bacon, sausage) fare, eggs, biscuits, gravy, chicken tenders and country fried steak. Servers assist you with their hot food items but everything else is self-serve. There was an array of pastries and fruit options as well. There was also an omelette station that you can customize to your liking. My favorites here are the smoked salmon and French toast. One pro about this place is their servers' attention to care.

However, if your a long hitter, this course will disappoint. Tee boxes are tucked away and you're required to hit snap hooks or forced slices to get over 200 yards. I have genuinely NEVER experienced anything like this at a golf course. We had six people and specifically booked two tee times with three people each. We called ahead, explained everything, and they knew our plan. Yet from the second we got to the first tee, one of the male employees stood there staring at us, questioning everything we were doing, and treating us like we were already a problem. He complained about our coolers, so we complied. Meanwhile, the group directly behind us had a cooler sitting completely out in the open and he said nothing to them. Then when I went to get drinks, this guy accused us of "plotting and scheming" and even started trying to tell me how to back up and turn a golf cart like I'm not a grown man who knows how to drive. Just unbelievably rude, annoying, and clearly looking for something to complain about. We then let two faster groups play through and had nobody waiting behind us. We weren't holding anyone up. Still, they messaged our carts telling us to split up. I took a photo of it because I thought it was so ridiculous and funny. These losers have nothing better to do but sit in the clubhouse and track our every move. Then another male employee drove out onto the course and immediately came at us with a terrible attitude before we had even said anything to him. We tried to be nice but he quickly made it a hostile argument. He threatened to LOCK OUR CARTS if we continued playing together and literally told us that a different course was where we "needed to be." This is what sent me over the edge. Then, instead of leaving, he stood there watching us tee off on the next hole. At that point it was honestly ridiculous. We paid $70 each to play golf, not to be followed around and treated like a group of criminals. I understand golf courses have rules. What I don't understand is the hostility, selective enforcement, smart comments, threats, staring us down, and treating paying customers like they're a problem from the second they arrive. And the course itself? Extremely mediocre for $70. Take away the mountain views and there is absolutely nothing special enough to justify that price. The woman up front and cart return guy were nice, but the two male employees completely ruined the experience. Awful customer service, overpriced mediocre golf, and easily the worst experience I've ever had at a golf course. Should've spent our $70 somewhere else. According to their own employee, that's where we "needed to be" anyway.

Our host is on the board of directors and he was able to give us a very nice tour of the facilities. There is something for everyone! Besides golf and tennis and the usual, there is a 21 plus section of the pool along with a bar and bar service. There are ample spots for kids and families, not just at the pool, but also a separate family oriented dining area and playroom set up for the children. The fitness center has state of the art equipment. The only downside is that space is limited, physically the grounds can't expand and parking can be at a premium. Our meal was excellent, soft shell crab with poblano and sweet peppers over grits for me and a half size wedge salad with added grilled shrimp for my wife. We enjoyed a perfect evening at this club.

The meal I was most impressed with was cajun shrimp over grits served with fried green tomatoes and a hollowed out orange filled with cranberries and a sweetpotato-orange cream. It was unbelieveable. The wedding was great, and I think the venue helped contribute to the laid back, yet super-classy elegance.
