If you're looking for fall fun, it's worth checking out Uncle Shucks! Location and Parking Uncle Shucks is located in Dawsonville GA, straight up 400. Parking is plentiful and free. Venue and Atmosphere They have two mazes, a "regular maze" and the hunted rows, which is filled with spooky Halloween fare and is only open after dark. The larger maze is actually broken down into 3 mazes, with their own checkpoints throughout. You receive a card at the beginning and punch it when you arrive at each point, if you fill all of them in you can enter to win a prize. I did not do the haunted rows but the line was long and there seemed to be a lot of excitement around it. They do have a GPS of the maze which you can download via a QR code, but I opted out. I kinda wish I had used the map though... I got lost a few times but I made it out alive! Uncle shucks also has a small pumpkin patch, tractor rides around the property, jumping pillow, marshmallow roasting (after dark) 2 food stands, goats to feed, and a general store at the edge of the property. Food and Beverages They had two food trucks, both serving carnival food (hot dogs, nachos, funnel cakes, etc). I ordered the chili cheese fries and they got the job done. Wish I could leave negative stars. Rude workers, poorly run lines, no warning about waits. No disclaimer about the haunted trail being a three hour wait when we bought our tickets, and frankly the trail was underwhelming. Overpriced food. Charges you to do both corn maze and haunted maze which is ridiculous. They are running a ponzee scheme in the middle of nowhere. Just know what you are getting into before you go. read more

Our family loves Uncle Shucks, its a great place for all of us to be together and have a great time. We love the corn cannon and especially Pollys Peanuts. We arrived at about 7pm saw the goats etc good vibes,....then we went into the haunted maze ....the only rule we were told was don't touch the scary people and that was it okay cool...we then went through the maze and I took a picture of me and my family (below) one of the scare workers practically harassed me and was like "delete it delete it I'm serious" and walked literally on my arm until I deleted the picture, then we continued to walk and when I stopped to wait for my family literally 10 steps behind me the scare girl asked me "why aren't you moving?" At this point i snapped because this was the second rude person to me,,...they gave us no instructions about waiting for our friends or taking pictures at the front but all the workers grew a third ball and got in my face and became aggressive. We understand y'all are tired and want to go home but if that's the case don't sign up to do the job. I came here finally after years of wanting to go to a corn maze. It was $15 per person here and plenty of grass parking. Lower cars beware, go slow so you don't bottom out on the bumpy grass parking lot. There was not many people here as it was a nice cloudy Monday afternoon. There appeared to be 3 mazes. We accidentally tried out the haunted maze first and it was pretty creepy. The # 1 and # 2 mazes were decent but not too hard. There wasn't many things to do other than a wagon ride, tunnel to slide down, corn shot(which was super fun), goat walk, and jumpy pad. A friend and I visited for the first time and had a lot of fun! We picked out a pumpkin, although they have a very small selection for a pumpkin patch. Then we visited the general store and goat viewing, and then started through the corn maze. The corn maze at sunset was a fun experience! We got lost but eventually found our way out after 1 hour! I visited Uncle Shucks Corn Maze the weekend after a big storm hit several parts of Georgia. Needless to say it was a bad idea. The hunted trail (the one thing we were looking forward to the most) was shut down due to storm damage. We were left with the regular corn maze, parts of which were completely flooded and muddy. The corn was also badly damaged. We had purchased tickets online several days before our visit and I truly wish we had not. We received a partial refund due to the damage but I don't feel it was enough. After the partial refund I still ended up paying more than my friends paid that night upon entry for the same experience. We took a couple of shots with the corn cannon and enjoyed s'mores by the fire pits. The flooding and damage is not their fault - let's agree on that. The 2 stars are mainly because not a single staff member was wearing a mask! It shows a complete disregard for the safety of their customers. Been wanting to experience going through a corn maze for some time now. Finally got the chance to visit Uncle Shuck's after shopping at North Georgia Premium Outlets. Pricing is reasonable I believe, $11/person for the corn maze. We only came for the maze and the pumpkins so it was nice to see everything neatly organized into sections. Service: Was okay. I only interacted with a staff member at the ticket booth. She was cordial, nothing outstanding though. Pumpkin Patch: This was mediocre. There wasn't as many pumpkins as I pictured. But if you're looking to buy some pumpkins, there is a small selection available. Corn Maze: This was pretty fun and hard! We kept going in circles and ending up where we started...no luck with the exit. We were on a time crunch, so I would definitely want to come back and try again when we have more time. Sunflowers: They've mostly wilted at this point with the cold weather we've had recently. So anyone looking to take sunflower pictures at this time prob shouldn't come here for that. If only this place wasn't an hour and a half drive, I would definitely come back. I had an okay experience. But I'll probably wanna try out other places next year. read more

They pack you in like sardines and almost no one is wearing a mask. I should have paid more attention because we got on this last minute. Uncle Shuck's is fun for what it is, a corn maze and pumpkin patch. To get to Uncle Shuck's from Atlanta, just take 400 north until you reach the outlet mall. Take a left at the first light immediately after the mall and you can't miss the giant corn maze that comes up on your right. It's about a 45-minute drive from the city. I went with a group of friends this past Sunday and we had fun. Parking and admission to the grounds are free, but you have to buy tickets if you want to enter the corn maze ($10) or go on the hayride ($5). The hayride includes a stop at some bonfires where you can roast marshmallows. Combo tickets (maze + hayride) are $13. There are three mazes you can do: one is 0.3 mile, another is 1.1 miles, and the longest maze is 3 miles. When you buy your ticket, you are given a map of the mazes. There is a game you can play called "The Farm Scene Investigation," where you try to identify, through the process of elimination (via checkpoints in the maze), who killed Farmer Joe. Once you've gathered all the clues and solved the mystery, you can enter your name in a drawing to win a prize. The hayride isn't much of a hayride. It's basically a tractor with two trailers in the back. You can sit on hay in the first trailer. Regular bench seats are in the second trailer. Kids usually pile in the first trailer. The tractor takes you on a short, unexciting ride along the border of the property and back to where three bonfires are. As you exit the trailers, you can pick up a pair of skewers and one Ziploc bag with four marshmallows, which you can roast (or burn) in the fires. Another fun thing you can do at Uncle Shuck's is fire a corn cannon. For $1, you get to fire 3 corn on the cobs at an old, beat-up minivan. The guy loading corn into my cannon lost track of what he was doing and accidentally loaded 2 corn on the cobs into my first shot. It was awesome to watch them spray out of my barrel, Contra-style. There is a small goat farm where you can buy goat food from candy dispensers for 50 cents a serving. There is a conveyor belt system that you can use to transport the goat food to the top of a structure of ramps. This is a cruel and funny way to watch the goats climb up the structure just to eat a little food. There are two dispensers and one of them was broken on Sunday. There is a small food tent where you can buy snacks such as grilled corn ($2.50), boiled peanuts, and funnel cakes ($5). There is another tent with drinks such as freshly squeezed lemonade ($4). Credit card minimum is $10. There are vending machines, that accept $1 bills only, with soft drinks and bottled water for $2 each. Restrooms consist of a line of Porta-Potties. Finally, there is a pumpkin "patch" right at the entrance/exit. Like Ivan S, I put patch in quotes because the pumpkins have already been picked. You can also buy stalks of corn, gourds, baby pumpkins, and other stuff in this area. Wear your walking shoes and be prepared to get a little dirt on you. read more

The lines were so insanely long that even though we got there at 7 we didn't get to do the wagon ride. Corn mazes are a yearly fall tradition for me and my friends. We decided to check Uncle Shuck's this year since they have the haunted corn maze at night on the weekends. We made the trek up 400. It's actually fairly easy to find and not too far from the city. They have 3 corn mazes and a haunted maze at night on the weekends. We got there around 8:30pm and bought our tickets for all of the mazes as well as the bonfire. A hay ride is included in that ticket, but we really just wanted the mazes and bonfire. The haunted maze closed at 10 pm so we hopped into that line. It was a pretty long line. I feel like we waited for a good 45 minutes to get into the haunted maze. Some guys with chainsaws tried to freak people out. They were nice enough to pose for pictures with us. The maze itself was actually pretty cool. I won't go into details to spoil it, but it's a definitely must do if you go. No flash lights allowed and you have to be at least 12. We wandered over to the other mazes after the haunted one. We started with the longest one. The paths are really well defined here. They provide a map to help you navigate your way through the maze. There are check-points scattered throughout. We took a few wrong turns and ended up taking a bit longer in the long maze than we expected. We only had time to check out some of the middle size maze. It had a game where you eliminated items at various check-points to solve this crime related thing. Almost Clue-like. By the time we were half-way through the maze, we realized we were pretty much the only ones remaining. It was eerily quiet. Next time we will make sure we get there a bit earlier to enjoy all of the activities before it clears out. Corn mazes are best traversed at night. read more

Despite the fact that me and outdoor family fun goes together like peanut butter and Jell-O shots, my wife wanted to wander a corn maze and I dutifully complied. Besides, the days are nice, the air is crisp, and the last time I wandered a maze was when my family and I took over as winter caretakers for that spooky hotel in Colorado and, honestly, I kinda need a do over after that. The drive from downtown to awesome Dawsonville was filled with your usual comedy of Atlanta traffic errors, but nothing you haven't seen before. (Though I will admit that the sign "Krystal Cumming" got my attention since I think a friend just emailed me that .mov.) Anyway, drive up 400 and make the first left after the outlet malls. We pulled up. The traffic attendant (in reality, just an apathetic teenager in a t-shirt waving his hands in directions that bear no relation to where you should be driving) pointed randomly to his right. We interpreted this as a signal to pull up into the first open spot we saw. And, yes, this being a beautiful, if not unseasonably warm fall day, the lot was crowded. The field was broken out into distinct sections: food tent, port-o-potties, the "corn cannon", the maze to the left, a petting area filled with the laziest goats I've ever seen (not once did they leave their house), a pumpkin "patch" (actually just an area where already picked pumpkins are put on display), a children's play area, pony rides (and, oh, I've never seen a forlorn pony until now) and, in the back, a hay ride. While the thought of being pulled by a loud diesel tractor in 83 degree heat seemed tempting, the wife and I stuck to our original plan of the corn maze. We queued up to the ticket booth aka "the cabin." "Two adults please!" $18 later, we were given two passes upon which were printed a map and various checkpoints within. The instructions were kind of vague (I.e., nonexistent), but if you couldn't figure out what to do, the corn maze itself may present much bigger problems for you. But for you rocket surgeons who need a little help, the maze is broken two sections, green and purple. Green is longer and more involved than the purple section. The numbers on your map represent checkpoint where you'll use a hole punch to indicate you've visited that checkpoint. It's very Amazing Race, except without the passports and international travel. Like the Amazing Race, however, you may end up arguing with your partner on where to go next and trying to ditch that one couple who just seems to be following you instead of trying to figure out where to go on their own (those cheating bastards!) Both mazes took us about an hour or so which was fine by me. Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed it, but it was getting a little warm out there. And, no, there are no port-o-lets in the corn field itself, so be prepared. We probably could've finished faster had the wife let me use the GPS and compass apps on my iPhone, but she said that wasn't the point of the corn maze and I'm all like "Well EXCUSE ME for living in the 21st century!" Also, based on the panicked look on some of the parents' faces as they tried in vain to find their way out with their spawn on the verge of a tantrum, don't be surprised if some of your kids may not get the point of the corn maze either. Absurd long lines...haunted corn maze is deceiving long. Once I'm the corn, it's another hour long line....not worth it!!!!!

I love this place. Actually, I just love the idea of a corn maze. Not something I was familiar with coming from Denver, CO and Washington, DC. So, unfortunately the basis for that love is pretty limited. As is the case for most love stories. I went on a Saturday night the weekend before Halloween in order to partake in the haunted corn maze. Unfortunately, my partner in crime for the night was a huge scaredy cat unbeknown to me. So we barely made it through the haunted maze without her screaming her lungs out. When we started through the regular maze she was convinced it was haunted and ended up turning around. In spite of that, the maze was relatively spooky. If you like super gory scary movies, you will not be fazed. But for the average Joe, you will be surprised a couple of times during the maze. When I went there it was unbelievably crowded. So much so that the parking lot attendants were recommending people turn around and come back another day. It took about an hour to get through the ticket line and a little less than thirty minutes to get through the line for the haunted house. I think that was because at the time it still wasn't dark until like 7:30 so all the people were coming all at the same time. Now that there are more nightime hours, it is likely that the crowd will spread out a little more. My last bit of advice, given all the rain we have been getting, I would advise you to wear shoes that are washable or you don't mind getting dirty. They have food (carmel corn) and drinks (even a coke machine). They also have a variety of pumpkins. All sizes and all shapes. They also have port-o-potties. Ok. The lines were excruciatingly long but still makes for one of the most fun things you can do this time of year in the Fall. I was really excited to take my two boys to Uncle Shuck's. I wanted the fun of fall outdoor activities but didn't want to drive to Ellijay for it. US was just 40 minutes from me and I was really excited to check it out. The day we visited, it had started raining when we got there. The place is all on dirt, so it was a nightmare when the rain came down. I had been excited to do the pumpkin shuck... But it's only open on the weekends. There wasn't really anything there for my boys to do/enjoy. They did climb the tire mountain, and chased each other through the soybean maze, but that was it. Hardly worth the 40 drive. read more

My family had a great day at the Corn maze, jump pad, corn cannon & just being together. It was a beautiful day, but due to the previous bad weather, was glad we took boots & an extra pair of shoes. In spite of the fact the weather knocked down some of the corn, we still had fun finding the numbered stations. Met owner, Keith & his nephew, who welcomed us & informed us before we paid for our tickets, that some of the corn was beat down by the wind & rain, & some areas were really muddy. Our visit this weekend was similar to our last experience(s) in activities purchased (combo wristbands for entire party of 8), visiting hours, etc. Pros: property had plenty of room to roam; value for money in purchasing a wrist band when you have members wanting to do everything; regular maze is challenging Cons: long wait times as there was one employee at a time covering activity areas during busy periods (ex. Corn cannon); haunted maze actors did little more than scream in your face to incite scare; need more lighting in certain areas (ex. several people tripping over things in the marshmallow roasting area) Overall a good time spent at Uncle Shucks if you are in the Dawsonville area. read more

A beautiful property with friendly and overtly helpful employees. They just hosted Hippie Fest and after weeks of nearly endless rain, there was quite a lot of mud, which got some cars stuck. I was one of those stuck. Several employees, including the property owner himself helped us all get our cars unstuck. Better than Netherworld! My wife and group of friends (full group of 12) came here during Halloween season and had a blast at the haunted corn maze. I highly recommend it. I live about 10 minutes from Netherworld and went there just 2 weeks before coming here and honestly, it was worth the drive. The price was reasonable ($21 for the haunted corn maze, regular corn maze, and hay ride) and the people who worked there were all very friendly. The hay ride was nice and quiet. Nothing amazing there but they do offer marshmallows to roast at the end of it. The regular corn maze was a nice touch. It has very wide waking paths and areas where you can climb up to get a high level view of the maze. The real draw here is definitely the haunted corn maze. It was will built with some solid scares. WORDS OF CAUTION They are very strict about their rules. Follow them as they don't offer second chances. We witnessed a couple getting escorted out, I'm not sure for what, but they enforce rules for everyone's safety. If you want to do the haunted corn maze, be sure to be INSIDE the maze's entrance before 10 because they stop admitting people after that and DO NOT issue refunds. Be prepared for at least a 30 minute wait to buy your entrance tickets and an additional hour to get into the haunted corn maze on the weekends. read more

Super fun ! My boyfriend and I went this fall and the corn maze was actually difficult to navigate and definitely need a map but it was so fun! There's a murder mystery (kid appropriate) to solve while walking the maze. They have goats, a tiny store, a giant jumping pad, corn cannons, corn hole, a hayride. It is definitely worth the money! I've been to several corn mazes around the country so I knew what to expect. Finding checkpoints is the point of it! Going at night is the best--it's alot more challenging that way. Plus here they had a bonfire with marshmallows at the end of the hayride. We went the last weekend: 1000x less crowded than if you go to these things during Halloween. You'll spend more time waiting in lines than it took you to trek all the way out to this farm. And unfortunately, the attractions are not fantastic enough to be worth it. Attractions: -Haunted Corn Maze: Exactly what you'd expect- a ten minute path filled with people jumping out of corn. There are a few instances where you'll need to bend, duck and crawl, so HEED THE WARNINGS if you have a bad back. Even as a total scaredy cat, I can attest that this is fairly tame. -Corn Maze: Surprisingly challenging, especially at night. I highly recommend a flashlight, and DON'T LOSE YOUR MAP! Or you will legit get lost. -Hayride & Bonfire: You climb up into the back of a tractor and they pull you along a dusty trail (so. Much. Dust. Ugh.), dip into the corn for half a second, and then they drop you by the "bonfire." By far the best part of the evening in my opinion, the "bonfire" was essentially five giant trashcan fires, and they gave you metal sticks and a bag of marshmallows (but you could have as many as you wanted.) It was nice to be out there and see the stars- relaxing... when you weren't trying to avoid ash. Don't go expecting anything new or exciting, but Uncle Shuck's is perfectly fine for what it is. Just EXPECT to have to wait in line for the attractions. Bring your friends and you'll have fun anyway. read more

We visited Uncle Shucks last Sunday during the apple festival, and while it was busy, it wasn't overly crowded to the point of being uncomfortable. Parking wasn't limited, and easy to get in and out of. And while we didn't go through the corn maze, I know its fun since I've been through it years before, we were set on keeping my 1 year old happy and content by taking him around to all the various activities they had, and they had quite a few things to do: hayride, kiddie corn maze, corn canon shooting, face painting, a "pumpkin patch", a goat walk where you can feed the goats through a contraption, a mini pony ride-a-long for the kiddies, many photo-ops and a snack stand where they had AMAZING fresh hot kettle corn and fried oreos! The only things I didn't like about it was the fact that the "pumpkin patch" was really just a large patch of grass in the middle of the place loaded with a number of various pre-selected picked pumpkins, so don't expect a pumpkin-picking experience here or a large variety of pumpkins to choose from. Also the apple cider I got tasted like it was the instant powdered stuff you get at kroger in a box like swiss miss. It wasn't tasty at all. I ended up throwing it out, but the kettle corn was so good that I got a bag to bring home for later! My husband delved into the fried oreos with gusto and enjoyed every artery-clogging second of it. And expect the food/drink prices to be at least $1 higher there than advertised on their website. I was so eager to have some hot boiled peanuts until I saw the price---$6! For a large cupful! I drove down the road and stopped at a mom-and-pop fruit stand and bought a large bag for under $2. And they were soooo gooood. read more
