I don't appreciate the way I was treated at this establishment. My water tasted like Vinegar(gross!). I asked for iced tea and they gave water! Wtf. I've never been so offended and worst of all. I didn't get my fries soon enough after asking for them. TWICE. And my lettuce was too long. Not to mention that she took away my salad before I was able to lick the bottom. I'm so frustrated. Bentleys is good but not exceptional. My companion I both had the traditional Sunday roast. It was cooked well, the portions were small and it and did not come with any side dishes like soup or salad. It is one of the few places open for dinner on Sunday nights in Stratford. I would certainly go back but this time I would order differently. Their beer and wine selection is not great for such a big place on Ontario Street. read more

For me, every trip to Stratford starts with lunch at Bentley's and sometimes after theater treats. Always wonderful daily specials and their regular menu items have never disappointed. They also good beer! read more

My family and I did research online before choosing Bentleys as a restaurant for lunch while visiting Stratford for the day. Although the menu has a lot of variety, the location is great, and the food was tasty, the service was atrocious. Our waitress was highly unattentive, brought the wrong meals, and literally yelled at me (a paying customer) in front of other patrons for getting up and requesting condiments from the sever at their service station. I was embarrassed by their staff in front of other customers, and the response from the manager, "bad news is good news in my eyes, hunnie". If you would like to be treated respectfully by your servers and management, I would strongly advise choosing another destination, perhaps one where the establishment will be happy to serve you. read more

Really wonderful burgers. Good beef and I loved the French Connection. Brie on a burger is a winner. Service was slow and unattentive. But we ate well and they have Coke products. All in all a win. read more

Just at Bentley's this past week. We've been to Stratford at least 5 times and always end up here for a few beers and a meal. i had the fish and Chips, which was OK, but too much breading, a bit doughy tasting. (If you want fish and chips, you MUST go to the new place down on Downie Street, Simply Fish and Chips.) The other meals in the group were all OK, nothing special, but OK. Dart Boards are gone. :-( Fortunately, we brought dominoes and drank beer on night, coffee and tea the next, and the staff was very accomadating and frendly. Decent beer selection, too. read more

Ghastly service. We waited for 35 minutes for our order, despite frequent reminders to our server - response was "oh no, the kitchen is trying to make me look bad". When she finally decided to go check on our order she said someone else had taken it! We ran across the street and grabbed something premade at Let Them Eat Cake or we would have missed our show altogether. The servers at the latter told us the locals know not to eat at Bentleys, although I'm not sure how true that is as it's always busy with a poor server to table ratio. I will never return. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL.... unless you are wanting fried, high calorie food. The five cheese macaroni had so much garlic that it was not edible at $15, but it did come with decent French fries. The steak was fatty and tasteless and the "crab/salmi/vegetable" cake was heavily coated in bread crumbs and hard with mostly filler that crab or salmon. We had dinner on the outside patio at Bentley's. Food was good, service excellent. The basic Burger I had was perfectly cooked, with a bun that did not overpower the flavour of the patty. My wife had the pulled pork on a bun, which was also excellent. Only complaint was the pulled pork did not come with a side of Fries or salad. The price was right, but usually you get a side, or pickle, or chips. Aside from this the place is a Stratford institution, and well worth a visit for a drink or a meal. read more

Service was ridiculously slow. We didn't get our appetizer. The drink order was the only thing that turned out decent. We had rum and cokes lol. The pasta was luke warm and the burger was pretty normal. All and all for what we paid, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Great selection of Canadian beers. We loved Rickard's White! We went here for dinner last night and I ordered fettucini dish which was completely bland and my boyfriend got a baked mac and cheese, also bland. Unfortunately, there are really not many affordable options in Stratford. It seems in order to have a good or even descent meal, you will spend around $60/person. Other affordable options- downstairs in Pazzo, Down the Street, and York Street Kitchen. read more

Open middle of the day, good bar food. We shared veggie nachos (very good), had the fish and chips (good but a bit too bready), black bean burger (just ok), and can highly recommend the stellar mac and cheese. I went here with my wife for a late bite after catching Hamlet. We got there around 11 pm. Right off the bat, we were told by another patron to choose a seat close to the bar so that we would get served. We did that, and still not a single waiter/waitress approached us with a greeting/menu. After waiting for 15 minutes, I approached the bar myself to order. Again, I stood there trying to get someone's attention with no luck. I then asked an individual behind the bar if I could order some beers, and he replied that he was under 15 years old and could not serve alcohol and walked away! SO WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING BEHIND A BAR IN THE FIRST PLACE? I was finally approached by an older gentleman, and ordered two beers. Didn't even bothering finishing them, as I wanted to get the hell out of this pathetic excuse of a bar. read more

Great place! I decided to eat here on a whim, and was very impressed! The waitress was a very nice young lady. I ordered the club sandwich with a caesar salad. The food was presented quite nicely, and fairly artistic! The caesar was great, and the sandwich had their own unique sauce and was fantastic! The dessert that I ordered here was a type of mixed berry crisp, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The portion was surprisingly large, and tasted fantastic! I don't visit Stratford often, but the next time I do, I'm heading straight for this place! read more

I've been to Stratford many times over the years and for the first time I visited the Bentleys bar portion of the restaurant. I walked in and sat at a table and was approached very quickly. I ordered a beer and fish and chips which pretty much arrived at the same time. Personally I like to enjoy my drink before the meal arrives but that's just me. Bentleys has a nice atmosphere and while I was enjoying my meal many more people came in and the restaurant filled up very quickly. What followed was a few moments of disorganization where people were coming in and sitting down and then being told that they had to be seated by wait staff. One waitress seemed to be a bit miffed about this and resulted in two tables getting up and leaving which was quite unfortunate. The food was okay, I ordered the fish and chips. I've had worse but I've also had better. The fish was good but a little too much batter and the french fries were wilted I would've liked them to have been more crispy. But they were tasty and the tartar sauce was amazing. All in all it was enjoyable and I would go back again. read more

Waitress was friendly but inattentive and took 20 minutes to get our bill paid. It was a long weekend and perhaps they were understaffed but I would not go back. First time eating at Bentleys and it was better than I expected. They have a tacky sign on your way into Stratford "WINE, BEER, FOOD, BEDS". The food was decent and server we had was great. It was my first meal of the daay so I opter for the quiche and salad which was very good. My husband is still talking about his blue cheese burger which he loved.
