Spider roll and special hand roll
    Sibyl C.

I stopped by for late takeout lunch before my long commute. Food was fresh and yummy. Spider roll $14.50 and hand roll is $9. Luckily I ordered 2 things or I would be hungry still.

    Chicken teriyaki

The food was really tasty. I appreciate that the chicken was not charred, like most teriyakis around here, and they're open sundays, sweet! New go-to spot.

We split an udon dish ($12.95), ordered 5 sushi plates + 1 order of crab rangoon but the portions felt quite small for the price. The fish did not taste as fresh or high quality as I was hoping, and the overall meal was underwhelming. Service was also inconsistent during our visit. We waited about 25 minutes before anyone noticed our water glasses were empty. At one point, I tried to get a staff member's attention for a refill, and they told me to hold on while they grabbed a white to go bag for another table in front of us. Unfortunately, they never came back, and we ended up waiting even longer. My friend and I's total came to about $41 per person after tip, and I left feeling disappointed with the value for what I received. For a similar price point, I personally prefer BittyFish in Lynnwood, where I have found the portions, quality, and overall experience to be better. Sushi Zone was not terrible, but it was not memorable enough for me to return. The flavor was good, the place is pretty clean and stocked though for options. Just wish the prices were better priced for the portion or the portions were bigger to match the price. Felt a little scammed.

Our 3 & 1/2 year old son watched his performance with fascination. Service was good. The restaurant was busy. We had to wait to be the last group that was served which was okay. The pricing though is a bit stiff. Sodas are way overpriced imho. I'm used to overpaying for cocktails but theirs is in a small glass so I was a bit bummed about it. The older man/host appeared too rigid and not very welcoming with his attitude. He didn't seem to like that I questioned a $4.75 charge for a chocolate milk that we didn't order and when he came back to us, he explained that it was for a ginger ale. That was fine but they need to be more transparent about their charges since they are not cheap items at all. We as a family like to dine out quite often and we don't mind paying for good food and exceptional service which we normally reward handsomely.

Vegetables were not done correctly either. Very bland compared to prior times. Something is wrong here. Maybe it's a fluke, but definitely not very good now for the price. FYI there is a forced mandatory TIP of 20%. So add that to all the prices.

Not too difficult to get a weekday reservation, but the restaurant was completely full and we definitely snagged the last parking spot in the outdoor lot, so I'm not sure where the overflow is. Bread Basket (2.75/5): A lot of the bread options were a bit stale and it's pretty expensive for nothing to stand out. Oysters (4.25/5): Probably the best bite. Super fresh and not fishy at all. Crab Cake (4/5): Good crunch and crab added some sweetness. Very solid. PB&J Foie Gras (3/5): I was most excited to try this, but I can't say I actually enjoyed it. It was interesting, but the foie gras was a little too gamey. Salmon Agnolotti (3/5): Agnolotti was good and portions were solid, but the salmon was barely seasoned / extremely under salted. Key Lime Pie (4.25/5): My favorite part of key like pie is the crust so this was right up my alley. Rides the line of tart and sweet with some extra freshness from the berry sauce / coulis. Chocolate Cake (4/5): Cake was moist and the chocolate lace added a nice crunch. Not the most luxurious / dark chocolate, but satisfying nonetheless.
