Hana Sushi is a solid Sushi restaurant located off Main St. in Bothell. There's ample parking behind the building and you can also walk through the back exit if you'd like Went at 6:30pm on a Friday night and was able to get seated within a 5 minute wait. Restaurant is pretty thin and small so might not be true every evening. Service was attentive and food was solid for the price apps for $5 - $10, rolls for $6 - $16. Beers, sake, and wine - no spirits. The Karaage was surprisingly chicken-y. Very light fry / not that crispy which surprised me but still solid. Seaweed salad tasted like the same stuff you'd get at any restaurant (there must be some sort of monopoly manufacturer of fluorescent green seaweed salad stocking every Asian restaurant in the world) and was fresh. Would recommend the Hana roll and fresh eel rolls for sure - tasty and hearty without being overly salty or saucy. read more

I would have given them a 5 star but I recently returned from Japan where the sushi and sashimi was just amazing. Solid 3! - great location on Main Street (parking lot in the back ) - loved the TNT roll with scallops on top - friendly staff - fast service and our order tasted fresh - sushi rolls are smaller here which surprised us. But it's nice for bite size bc I don't like a lot of rice and it's nice to avoid the weird too big sushi piece that won't fit in your mouth. - prices were reasonable - it's a smaller shop and the tables are kinda close together. Kinda feels like you're eating with the random neighbors at the table next door. This was disappointing since "the neighbors" were distracting. The spot reminds me of the old-school Japanese war in the wall places. It's small and intimate and you can tell there's history here. They're not trying to be flashier over the top. The fish is good. We went to this place because another place we wanted to go was under construction. The quality of the sushi was so-so, I think the seafood could be more fresh, it actually gave my daughter stomach problems for a day. Best tempura I've had in awhile! But, we came here for happy hour and they sadly don't have happy hour anymore even though the happy hour menu is listed on their website. We ordered 2 of their specialty rolls and an order of the shrimp&veggie tempura dinner combo (comes with rice and miso soup). Their specialty rolls were good, but pretty pricey ($17 for pretty much any roll that has fish/eel on top). Spicy tuna was more spicy than your typical roll also, so be wary! Normal rolls without fun toppings were around $11. Recommend getting their tempura if you come here though, that was excellent! This is a family run restaurant which has its pros and cons from the diner's experience. We've only recently been going there more regularly because there is not such a line as the better sushi restaurants that we frequent. The staff is very friendly and sort of efficient. The number 2 sushi chef however gives me the willies how he looks and more importantly looks at us. Like many restaurants lately they have raised prices but it has gone too far with a la carte sushi and I don't think we will keep going there once a month or so. If you order a combo and stick to that or other menu items you can't be surprised but if you order a la carte sushi, they charge way too much for the quality! Two pieces each of Uni and Unagi on a $50 meal and beverage turned into $80 plus after tax. If it was Shiros or something I would be happy but there food is mot of that caliber. Their best deal, if quality doesn't need to be top shelf, is the chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna roll for $16.95 which comes with miso soup. Our favorite sushi restaurant gives that and a little noodle bite to every diner. This is a convenient neighborhood restaurant but I don't think we will go that route for sushi again. read more

Ive ordered from here in the past and it was okay but not bad. Not sure what happened but the sushi was horrible and so was the portion for the dragon roll. The nabeyaki udon was missing things it normally should have as well as other problems. This was a pickup but it shouldn't have mattered this much. The dragon roll definitely was not worth the money charged. Maybe half since unagi is expensive but the portion was definitely thin. This is supposedly a premium roll but it looks subpar and tastes subpar. The scallop nigiri tasted bland, no ocean feel or taste at all, almost like fake scallop. This nigiri was shaped like a scallop but tasted like nothing, literally nothing. This is by far the worst scallop?? nigiri ive ever had. They also put chopped spicy tuna in a chirashi bowl... Like what they use in a roll. Why are they also using chopped spicy tuna along with slices of fish?? Less slices of fish but have chopped tuna spicy tuna?? No thanks. The udon was put in a recycled paper container... When i took it out i was maybe able to get 80 percent of the udon as a good portion was near glued to the container. They have other containers that would have worked better. They cheaped out on this order, improperly packaged, missing items. Worst of all, things tasted like crap. What i got was not sushi.. it was disrespect. My order was $100 but i feel like i got half of that value, not even. I do not recommend this place whatsoever with this type of food being put out. read more

Used to be my to go spot until I recently placed to go order and realized they raised their food price rapidly without improving the quality. - Soft crab tempura for $16 (1 star for food - I still don't understand why they charge $16 for 4 or 5 pieces of frozen crab, this is just an appetizer) don't waste your money to order this -yellow tail sashimi $20 (4 and 1/2pieces) - way over price for the portion and quality, see from pic - spicy scallop nigiri $14 for 4 pieces- you can see from the pic, not recommended at all -nigiri combo $16 for 3 pieces nigiri and some California roll and tiny tuna roll. Very sad portion and you can probably get better quality from the bucks Overall my bill is $70 for a very sad sushi dinner. Wished I was told the yellow tail sashimi is going to be 5 dollar per pieces and it is my bad for trusting the restaurant will provide quality like they used to. At the end of the day, this is just my personal opinion, I'm gonna try out another sushi place near by to see if I'm just have a high expectation on quality when I pay $70 for sushi / sashimi. read more

My hubby has been craving sushi so we went to Hana in Bothell. Food was good. Service was a bit slow. We had to ask for refills on our tea instead of them offering the refill. My hubby said the sashimi plate was tasty. My shrimp tempura meal was good but I needed kimchi because I felt greasy. However it's a Japanese restaurant so they didn't have it. Overall a good place to get sushi. We started with the ediname and it was a solid way to start. Many places under salt theirs but Hana did a good job with the level and amount they give you. My wife enjoyed the avocado rolls which were ripe and well made though a little more than other places and I got the vegetable and fried tempera veggie rolls. The fired tempera rolls lacked the crunch I was hoping for but the veggie rolls were great. They tasted very fresh and had a good texture with some nice ripe avacados as well. Solid sushi option in downtown Bothell! We've been here many times in the past, and their sushi rarely disappoints. The beautiful chirashi bowl is generous with many different types of fresh fish on a warm bed of sushi rice. It's a little pricey at $24 but it's just about worth it. One thing I really appreciate about the sushi rolls is although they are on the smaller side, they aren't mostly rice like some other places. As you can see from the Deluxe Sushi Dinner pic, the tuna roll was mostly fish as it should be. A couple of times I've gone and the fish didn't taste as fresh as usual, but normally it's pretty good. I haven't had their cooked entrees in a while so I can't comment there, but will be back soon to try them. Parking is limited along Main Street, but there is a parking lot in the back that usually has lots of spaces. read more

Items ordered: Cucumber salad Miso soup Vegetable tempura Fried gyoza (it looked like it had been dipped in tempura batter and was amazing!) Several different kinds of sushi Cheesecake Chocolate Mochi ice cream My kids loved the monorail delivery. My picky 10yo tried and loved the cucumber salad. Husband ate a few orders of sushi and then ordered more. We shared the gyoza and the tempura, mochi ice cream for the kids, and cheesecake for me. The staff were attentive and friendly, the ordering system was easy to use. Note that if you need to make substitutions, this place probably isn't for you - there is no place to do that in the app. We didn't need to do so, but I know several folks who might for various reasons. Had a really disappointing visit. I understand everywhere is short staffed but there seemed to be no delegation of work or management. Everyone ran around like a chicken with their heads cut off. Came in during a weekday around 6 pm, the restaurant is very small, and it was full. We were told to wait a 15 min then were seated. No tables around us seemed to have any food. Waited awhile to order drinks and we ordered food at the same time. We were given soup pretty quickly but besides that no one checked on us or apologized for the long wait. We ordered the Hana bento and chicken teriyaki bento with spicy tuna roll. A table near us who had been there much longer than us got food after we were waiting nearly an hour. There were 2 or 3 sushi chefs and then 3 servers or general workers that included the owner(s), I'm assuming. Not sure how many cooks were in the back. Couldn't get refills or any updates on food. It was painful to watch the sushi bar and not see our food. They tried to give us food that wasn't ours. Finally after an hour or so our food came out. It was good but not worth the wait or poor service. They also do not have side salads which is disappointing and would be a good addition. If I were to come back I would probably only order takeout and most likely won't dine in again. The chicken teriyaki was good along with the California roll but my friend said the spicy tuna roll tasted sweet and was off-putting. read more

Although the only reason i knocked a star off was because i ordered to go through the app they recommended, BeyondMenu, and at first it was easy but there's no way on the app to see if it's ready for pick up. i left a number and i never got contact whether through email or my number. after waiting 30 minutes after my "estimated" pick up time, i just went to grab myself and not to my surprise, my order was sitting there for 30 minutes. Won't knock them more for that as the food was still fresh and still tasted great. i had five rolls for lunch and it was the perfect amount.
