(2/5) $130 fir a polish change???? I wanted to share my experience at Beyond Nails after two visits with my 95-year-old mother, who has dementia. During our first visit, the technician (Wen) did an excellent job on my mother's nails, and she was very happy with the results. Unfortunately, the customer service did not match the quality of the work. Whenever my mother spoke, the technician would not acknowledge or respond directly to her. Instead, she would look at me as if I needed to translate. While my mother's communication can sometimes be affected by her dementia, I felt she still deserved to be spoken to with kindness, patience, and respect. The technician was not warm or personable, which made the experience uncomfortable. We decided to give the salon another chance because my mother loved her nails. We returned for her scheduled 3:00 p.m. appointment to have a polish change on both her fingernails and toenails, keeping the same cat-eye color she already had. A few minutes after we checked in, a receptionist came over and asked what services we wanted. After I explained that we only wanted polish changes with the same cat-eye color, I was quoted $130 before we were even taken back. If I remember correctly, that was about what I paid during our first visit for a full manicure and pedicure with the original cat-eye service. The price seemed excessive for polish changes alone, and I left feeling as though we were being discouraged from receiving the service. Whether that was the intention or not, the overall experience did not make us feel welcomed or valued as customers. Because customer service is just as important to me as the quality of the nails, we chose to leave and take our business elsewhere. I sincerely hope the salon will consider providing more compassionate and respectful service, especially when working with elderly clients and those living with cognitive conditions such as dementia. $130 for a polish change?????????? read more

Stopped in for a Pedicure. Noticed that the price is now 39.00 for a basic pedi. Prices went up. Again. I was fine with it until they tried to to charge me 5 bucks to take off gel polish. I had terrible service and received a very bad attitude from the front desk. I told them I would not be back. They have a rewards program if you pay cash What they didn't tell me today was all my services needed to be paid in cash to receive rewards. They should have told me when I said I was paying for the massage on my card and my mani/ pedi with cash. They refused to correct it and no apology. I told them that they should let customers know in advance of paying that the entire transaction has to be in cash. read more

This was my go to nail salon for years but after the last two visits I will definitely not be going here anymore or recommending anyone else to go here. When I first started using this salon they were top notch. However, over the past years they have really gone down hill. Two visits ago my wife and I sat for 45 minutes after our appointment was set to start waiting to be seen. We ended up leaving and going to a different salon that took us on the spot. The most recent visit is really the issue here. With both my wife and I the nail techs were very rough and physical throughout the service and cut us a combined 5x. I didn't realize it until after the service was finished, but when my nail tech was adding the essentials oils to the water to dilute it she accidentally spilled some on the top of my foot. I felt the pain on the top of my foot for about 10 minutes until she eventually rinsed everything off. I know it sounds crazy that I would allow essential oils to burn a hole in my skin for 10 minutes without saying anything but I have a history of psoriasis so I honestly thought I was just having some weird skin reaction. When I looked down at it it looked red, burned and extremely irritated but again I thought it was just my skin "acting up". I made the mistake of ignoring it for a full day because I didn't realize what had happened. To add insult to injury the cost of two basic pedicures and one manicure was $215 prior to tip and almost $300 with the tip. The next day we took off on our flight for a nice post busy season vacation (we work in hospitality) and when we arrived in the hotel room I noticed that the irritated portion of my foot had taken a severe turn for the worse and showed my wife. After telling her how it happened she informed me that it is definitely a burn that is now infected. We started cleaning it and treating it right away and instead of us enjoying our vacation together I am now laid up in bed for the third day in a row with my foot elevated on heavy antibiotics. The pain is so severe that I can not put on shoes and walking is a legitimate exhausting task. Now I'm not saying this is 100% Beon nails fault.. I made the mistake of not speaking up when I felt the pain, I made the mistake of not realizing that it was a burn and I made the mistake of making another appointment after the unsuccessful previous attempt. But as a consumer, I expect to have a competent properly trained nail tech when I go to get a pedicure especially factoring in there new elevated pricing. If you're going to be working with chemicals that can do serious harm to a person, not having someone who knows how to administer them properly makes you negligent as a business. I advise serious caution to anyone looking to use any services offered at this establishment. read more

I went to BeOn yesterday to get a gel manicure. I normally go to another nail salon in the area, but they are closed Sundays. I decided to give this one a try. I've been there one other time and didn't have any issues. my nail technician was great, however, my nails are ALREADY chipping. I'm so dissapointed. The woman Iris who did was nails would not give me what I asked for and became very rude towards the end of my appointment. My nails are not even at all and she did not cut my cuticles - my nails look horrible! I haven't been to a nail salon in over 3 years and felt extremely uncomfortable with how Iris treated me - as if I was an inconvenience to her. I practically ran out of there after my appointment & left the girl at the front desk with her tip that she did not deserve. I gave this nail salon a second chance after a bad first experience. At the time, I was glad I did. My husband and I became regular customers over the last 9 months. The experience I had last week with the unprofessional customer service reps and nail tech made me rethink that decision. My Mom was visiting and we decided we would get manicures. I had my regular nail tech Nicole (who is always friendly and does a wonderful job) and my mom had an appointment with someone else. Everything was fine until my mom's nail tech cut her deeply. She started to bleed badly. My mom went to sink to wash the wound (there was no soap) and to stop the bleeding. When my mother returned to her nail station, she repeatedly told the tech to be careful not to polish the area. The tech said okay. Then proceeded to slather exfoliating scrub into the cut and her ring while my mother was vehemently protesting. She put top coat directly into the cut which caused her finger to burn. My mother was so upset. I went to check out. The girl at the desk (I believe her name was Brianna) asked me how my services were. I explained what happened. She issued me a $10 gift card and charged me only for one manicure. Well, I thought they comped the service. About 1/2 hour later, she calls me back and tells me needs to charge me for the other service. I questioned her and she HUNG up the phone on me! I called back and she gave the phone to Lindsey who was the manager on duty. She said I still have to pay for the service and the gift card was to apologize and to guarantee that they will do better next time. When it was explained that my mother was cut badly and the service was awful, she only agreed to comp the service if I returned the gift card. Then when getting a full set of extensions done, I noticed the nail tech was going to use UV gel instead of acrylics, so I said that I had asked for acrylics and she fixed it (simple mistake, not an issue). Then, when using an e-file, she cut me twice on separate fingers and drew blood. When paying, the front desk was told about the incident, they stayed silent and then proceeded to ask if we wanted an envelope for the tip. In the nicest way possible, I have been a loyal customer since BeOn opened. This week, I ordered the classic gel pedi. I go so much that I'm used to the routine, and she not only did not follow the typical BeOn routine procedure for a pedicure, I also did not receive some of the services listed for a classic gel pedi. I expressed my concern to the receptionist. She said I still had to pay full price to pay for "my time there." .. my 25 minute appointment, that I'm clearly not happy with. After paying full price and regretting not asking for the manager, I leave and the receptionist calls me. She said she spoke with the manager who is willing to give me a $10 credit. As a manager myself in another field, this customer service truly shocked me. I spent $45 on a pedicure and the best you can do is $10 for a loyal customer. Overall, I'm unhappy I was told I had to "pay for my time there." I get that it's a business, but with my 25 minutes spent, you really couldn't let this $45 pedicure go? Or even half price? My sister introduced me to this salon. It's beautiful. But as other customers said It all depends on who does your nails! I got a gel mani on Sunday and three nails have already chipped! That's less than four days! I'm so disappointed on spending 30 dollars and they are already chipped. I am a teacher so I'm not using my nails or hands more than any other profession. Yay! So glad this place opened up close to home. It's in the Whole Foods shopping plaza right on Route 35. Super clean, neat, well organized and well run shop. I came in as a walk-in for a gel manicure "refresh" (already had gel polish on my nails from a previous manicure), and David did a great job patiently taking off the old stuff. He was very thorough and friendly so I'd recommend him to anyone. BeOn has nice TVs to keep you occupied during your service and they play good music to boot ;) They also do a weekly raffle in which you can participate by simply filling out a ticket with your name and phone number. They were in such a rush, they didn't wait for the acetone to remove the gel, they scraped it off, along with the surface of my nails. In the short run, Beon Nails is less expensive but in the long run it will take 6 months for my nails to recover and grow out. read more
