I am writing this review to share my experience with Berger Hospital, but please know that I am not one to speak negatively about anyone. However, I feel the need to share my story to warn others and hopefully prevent this from happening to anyone else. I went to Berger Hospital for a routine epidural, and unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst. I was suddenly being life-flighted to Columbus, fighting for my life. The next thing I knew, I had two poles and 14 screws holding my head up, and I was left in excruciating pain. Before this incident, I was a healthy 48-year-old man with a torn rotator cuff. But now, I walk with a cane and struggle with pain every day. I had to go through 20 weeks of physical therapy and lost my dream job because of what happened. Thankfully, my doctors in Columbus were able to save my life, but the whole experience was traumatic for me and my family. To add insult to injury, the doctor who performed the procedure came to Columbus to check on me and was acting oddly, according to my family. I didn't wake up for days, and he was let go from his job a few weeks later. I gave Berger Hospital two years to make things right, but unfortunately, nothing has been done. I cannot in good conscience recommend this hospital to anyone. I hope that my experience will serve as a warning to others to be careful and do their research before choosing a hospital or doctor. Very friendly and patient staff, hospitals always give me major anxiety but they were quick, clean, and easy going!

I recently was sent to the ER from an urgent care facility because of erratic heart rhythm. The ER was packed, but the nurses were really giving it their all to be caring and patient. I was kept overnight for observation and I must say there was a great deal of confusion....it seemed like the right hand didn't let the left hand know what it was doing. Through it all, though, the nurses there are a gifted group of people, and though they weren't sure what to do with me, treated me with care and concern. read more

The worst place to get help, some of the people are very nice then others are very rude went for teeth pain they give me something tht only helps for 10 minutes then where's off your better off goin to Chillicothe or Lancaster for the real help. read more

I recently brought my 66 year old wife to the ER with a suspected heart attack. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic I was not allowed back with my wife, which I understand. What I cannot understand is how ,with 7 nurses and the ER Doctor standing around the nurses station with their thumbs up their collective asses, NOT ONE CAME TO CHECK ON HER FOR OVER 2 HOURS. I know this because we were texting back and forth, I had stayed in the parking lot. I then called their supplied ER number to check and see what they had to say about it, I was told that she was being seen , which I know was BULLSHIT. After I called the nurses station ,they finally submitted the lab and x-ray orders at the 3 hour point my wife who is a retired ER head nurse at Camp Lejune took upon herself to disconnect the eeg leads, bp cuff and the o2 Sat finger clip. This is the point where she finally had someone come in and tell her some BULLSHIT about being busy, which she and I both know was a LIE . She told the nurse that if she was going to die she would do it at home before coming back to Berger Ohio Health. Hey Berger you just lost 2 more clients .. read more

Wish there was a zero star option once again Berger failed to produce yet care about a Patient. The ER IS A JOKE! With minimizing people's concerns and not doing their job! I live a few houses away and will never choose this hospital again such a terrible terrible hospital, it deserves to be shut down! I came here cause it's close I have a bleeding 2 year old. She's freaked out she was hit by a toy above her eye. I tell them that she freaks out and has extreme fear of the doctors office. The staff has been rude to her and had her waiting she's screaming to go and no staff had done anything. I'm sorry but a bleeding screaming 2 year old maybe important. They are trying to get vitals and want to say her blood pressures high, no joke she's scarred!!! read more

I don't know why others had such bad experiences. I came from using Mt. Carmel, which I hate, to using Berger Hospital when I moved to Ashville Ohio. I LOVE the people, my boss and I both have used the emergency room, I've had multiple diagonistic procedures done and two surgeries. I will ALWAYS want to use this hospital. I feel very comfortable there and secure in their hands! read more

Some of the rudest ER doctors I've ever had to put my health in their hands. The nurses are great and do know about some of their bad bed side manners. They make you wait hour upon hour trying to make you just agree to leave. This isn't just one occasion. Being a disabled veteran and not being able to get to a V. A. Facility we're forced to go to Berger Hospital. It's a shame. read more
