I already struggle with anxiety whenever I go to doctor's offices or unfamiliar places, so I tend to feel nervous during appointments. Unfortunately, the interaction with Sarah made those feelings worse. She spoke very quickly, which made it difficult for me to fully understand what she was saying, especially during moments when I was already feeling anxious. I believe she was also training another girl at the time. I ended up asking the other assistant to retake my blood pressure because I felt overwhelmed and anxious after interacting with Sarah. As a patient, I believe it's important to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during medical visits. While Dr. Hunter herself was very nice, Sarah's approach made me feel uneasy and uncomfortable instead of reassured. I just wanted to share my experience because I think bedside manner and communication are very important when working with patients.

I have been taking my child here for over a year and he loves coming to the office and loves the staff. The OIT program is so great and runs efficiently. Audi and Alma are both truly wonderful and caring individuals and a joy to work with. Audi has always greeted my child (and his siblings) with care and enthusiasm. He is engaged in them and makes them feel very at ease. Audi is so knowledgable about allergies and the OIT process and I always feel in good hands when working with him. He takes the time to explain things and makes sure we have all the information we need before leaving the office. Alma is above and beyond such a remarkable person to work with and extremely knowledgable in OIT and food allergies. From the moment my son and I met her we felt very confident that we were in great hands during the OIT experience. She goes out of her way to make you feel cared for and really does such a terrific job of making you feel ready to tackle the OIT process at home. She makes the typical doctors office experience feel like a spa treatment! I have recommended many families to this office and will continue to do so. You are in great hands with the staff and practitioners at Allergy and Asthma Associates of Southern California!

It helps to come in with an open mind because he is far more than just a typical doctor. He opened my eyes to completely different ways of thinking about my health, my body, and the healing process as a whole. He does not take the generic surface level approach that so many western doctors seem to rely on. In my experience, he has done more for me in the last 6months than what generic western doctors have done over the past 30 years. The best way I can describe him is that he is like a doctor, a psychologist, psychotherapist and several other professionals all combined into one. He looks at the full picture, asks the right questions, and approaches things in a way that makes you feel like someone is finally paying attention and actually trying to get to the root of the issue instead of just putting a temporary bandaid on it. His office is also a reflection of that experience. It is tranquil, comfortable, and conveniently located right next to the freeway, which makes it easy to get to. I am very glad I was referred to him and I highly recommend him to anyone who feels stuck, dealing with an ongoing issue, cant pinpoint the cause of their symptoms, untreated by typical doctors, or like they need a different level of care and insight. I am definitely a lifetime client

We've been with this practice for a couple of years and the last time we were due to run out of serum, we were given a form to sign and authorize insurance to renew. Despite this, they still didn't create new serum setting us back on our schedule- less than ideal when one of your kids is on a biological med to manage his asthma. Today we went to go get our shots and were advised that our serum had expired since our last injection several weeks ago but no one had advised us or had us sign the required authorization form. Even more disappointing is that we've had several conversations within the last month with Dr. Carr as well as office staff regarding our pending relocation and the process for transferring our existing serum to the new practice. Unless you want to add managing your allergy serum expirations to your already busy schedule, I suggest finding another provider until this office management improves

They texted and emailed us a multiple times that we can't be late or should give them 24 hours notice to avoid $75 cancellation fee. What's the point of having an appointment? They could have just booked less people than they are supposed to. Because they seem like they don't care about other people valuable time.

I waited three months for this appointment and left completely frustrated, disappointed, and…read morehonestly, concerned that this doctor is still practicing. First red flag: no vitals were taken -- no blood pressure, no weight, not even a temperature. This is the first time I've ever been to a doctor's office where basic vitals weren't recorded. The front desk staff seemed more focused on collecting my copayment than anything else. Once I was in the room, the doctor came in and asked about my history. As I began to explain, he interrupted and dismissed my diagnoses, stating that it's "not possible" to have both eczema and psoriasis -- something I've been clinically diagnosed with in the past. I told him I'd been referred by my dermatologist due to severe reactions to hair dye, acrylic nails, and certain perfumes -- reactions that have included throat tightness, dizziness, skin burning, and full-body redness. He immediately told me there's no way hair dye can cause a systemic reaction, despite this having happened to me twice, and despite the fact that I showed him photographic evidence of my symptoms. Even more troubling, he refused to acknowledge that my symptoms could have been anaphylactic, telling me that because I didn't remember if my tongue swelled, it "wasn't anaphylaxis." He repeatedly interrupted and dismissed my concerns, offered no testing, and simply told me, "Just avoid those products." There are published medical journal articles and research studies that clearly document systemic allergic reactions to hair dye and similar chemicals. For a board-certified allergist to claim that these reactions are "impossible" is both negligent and dangerous. I've worked in healthcare for nearly 40 years, and I have never encountered such a dismissive, condescending, and outdated provider. No concern for my safety, no willingness to listen, and zero effort to actually investigate the cause of my symptoms. I strongly urge anyone looking for an allergist to look elsewhere. Don't waste your time or risk your health.
