Although the wait time was longer than expected, it was worthwhile to see Dr. Cho. He was clear, knowledgeable, and cautious in his consideration of next steps for me. I was very appreciative of his comments because sometimes doctors just act like--"oh, you're fine." I'd rather someone be aggressive about preventative measures and monitoring of previous cancer issues. I highly recommend him even though I've only been to him this one time. Please be advised this review is not for the MD as I never got to meet him. Scheduled my apt. W Dr. Cho for the Irvine location on a Friday. I made sure to confirm w the call center rep the location of my apt, they even provided me the full address. When I arrived to my apt i was told my apt had been cancelled. According to the front office lady it was cancelled by me. She said sometimes pts accidentally cancel instead of confirming when their automated reminder system calls. I advised her I never even received a reminder call. I ask if there could be a way to accommodate me given the fact that I never cancelled, nor could I have accidentally since I never got a reminder call. She then proceed to inform me that Dr. Cho is actually not even at that location on Fridays. This was so upsetting considering I had been waiting for this apt for over a month and had planned accordingly taking time off from work. I then asked if I could speak w a manager and was told manager left early. I asked for a contact number to speak w a manager, I left the office and called the number provided asking for a call back from a manager. Well this happened in May and it is now June and I never got a call from their manager to discuss the incident. Unfortunately, this shows how little management cares for their patients and how unapologetic they are for their mistake. read more

Absolutely atrocious customer service. They will cancel on your appointment the day of and then proceed to tell you the next appointment is once again several weeks out. My appointment was specifically to be with Dr Cho and I was told he was not available for several weeks. Several weeks later I get a call on the day of my appointment that its been cancelled because the PA I was scheduled with was not available. read more

I would never recommend Dr. Cho. I had 2 MRI's. First his office never sent the request to the Imaging center. I had to send it to them. One was a brain scan I was told by the Imaging center that because it was of the brain he would have the results that night or next day. 2 weeks later and 3 calls to his office I got a call from him. He made me feel like I was disturbing him. End the conversation that because it wasn't in my ear that he couldn't help me. So called my primary doctor to help glad I did that. When he went over the results with me I found out that I needed another MRI on my neck and that it could be cancer. Dr. Cho never told me that. read more

Normally people like to think doctors know what's wrong, even before they are seen. In the real world people need to explain in great detail-depth their symptoms no matter how little it may seem in order for any doctor to make the right decision(s) in their prognosis. My father and wife are these type of people who stay quiet leaving out DETAIL ... LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLIEST SPEAK UP! If you don't connect keep searching until you find someone you do connect with, you'll never make everyone happy, there's no way, there's people I like and there's people I don't, at least I don't physically put them in harms way. Always smile and be extremely THANKFUL you were able to rise out of bed each day, as everything else, every task from that point on is secondary ... I like Dr. Cho's personality he's REAL in my opinion, its hard to find doctors like that HAVE A GREAT DAY! read more

We made an appointment and told the front desk why.......however, they did not relay the message to the Doctor.... so our appt was at 11:00am and because we drove 3 1-2 hrs Doctor had us come back @1:00 to do the procedure. Doctor Cho wasn't going to do it but when we told him how far we had to drive to see him he said to come back at 1:00 to get everything ready, which was very nice. I saw this doctor in the emergency room at Mission Hospital. He has no bedside manner, the nurse in the emergency room even apologized to me for his demeanor. He didn't discuss anything with me. Came in as I was in horrible pain and without explaining anything about what was happening, he performed a needle aspiration drainage on a peritonsillar abscess I had. (I did all the research on my own after the fact; he described and explained nothing to me). I got admitted to the hospital and the next morning was being "prepped" and told I was going to be transferred for surgery. No one told me anything about a surgery or why the needle aspiration didn't work or what was happening at all. I requested I speak to the doctor first. When I was finally able to see him 3 hours later, he gave me a very vague explanation of why and what they would be doing. It was a really horrible experience either way but it was made a lot worse by having a doctor that was super insensitive and not communicative. When I was discharged they gave me his number to follow up with that week (as the inside of my throat was sliced open) and they assured me it would be covered by my insurance because it's a hospital follow up; but Dr. Cho's office declined to see me. read more

I have a long history of ear issues and a few years back saw a different ENT for the same issue I'm having currently. I did not have resolution with the previous specialist. Dr Cho was able to figure out that my ear problem was actually a sinus problem by simply looking up my nose, which the previous ( ear, NOSE, throat) Dr did not!! I had an appt today with him at the Irvine location...I have an overproduction of earwax and have been advised to go in once or twice a year to get it removed by previous doctors..my last experience resulted in severe dizziness and vertigo and the dr. assistant took about half an hour to flush out my ear. So I never did an ear flushing again from the bad experience even though it's been a few years and I was experiencing hearing loss..when my hearing loss didn't improve after trying otc ear wax removal remedies, I decided I better visit an ENT doctor who specializes in these kinds of things in case my decrease in hearing was something other than impacted earwax...my word..I didn't know what I was missing..I was in and out in a few minutes and the doc had some sort of vacuum and suctioned up all my earwax in both ears..I was also having pain in my left ear and he found a piece of hair that he took out with some kind of tweezer...lol...no water in my ears from flushing..hallelujah..no vertigo..when I asked him how frequently I should visit him to get this procedure done, he shrugged and casually said "whenever." My kind of doc...he could've said a few times a year to get paid for my office visits but was honest and left it up to me whenever it becomes an issue...what an upstanding doc...he's definitely a keeper. read more

I was a patient of Michael Cho a few years ago after a sudden hearing loss. After a treatment I called him a couple of times over the weekend because I did not feel well. He was annoyed that I called him. At the last appointment, he told me there were many options but since you are so anxious about everything (I lost my hearing and had ringing in the ear!) I am not going to consider that for you and he shakes his head and discharged me. I just want to report this for the viewer to consider. After that I saw other ENT and finally got a hearing aid which help my situation. What he did was unprofessional and I hope it will change. read more

The office is great however at times seem stressed. Dr. Cho is usually rushed and his staff busy. It took me 7 calls to try to get a message to him. Last visit he took a call during my visit and left by saying " well whatever I will see you in 30 days"! Apparently we were done! I am stressed fighting for disability approval every two weeks! Four surgeries, and a cancer diagnosis later and this final surgery I have a case of vertigo! Go figure ! Never once did I go on disability until the last surgery which is silly to me that every two weeks it's like pulling teeth to get him to approve it! I am just sick of feeling like I make dr cho's life difficult when mine has been complete hell since October 30th! I am very thankful for the first three surgeries that went off somewhat without issues. I feel blessed he got the cancer and restoring some hearing in my ear. I just feel like if you aren't a cookie cutter patient then dr cho isn't the dr for you. Sadly because after 3 years I am having to find another dr! read more

Dr. Cho was from day 1, a professional of the highest standard, and educated me about what i would be facing going forward with the operation. When i was told there was a 1% chance i could be left deaf in my left ear, Dr. Cho assured me he was confident we would be successful based on his findings. Dr Cho has been my wife's ENT doc for years now, performing her cholesteatoma removal several years ago. He has always treated her very well and she's had a great experience. I went recently reporting of "fullness" in my ear, and while we didn't find anything abnormal, he still took the time to listen and discuss with me what I might be experiencing and what other tests I could look into.
