Excellent service, they repaired my watch super fast and charged less than what I thought it would be.

I brought in a ring to have them put a diamond back into a band that fell out. They told me they'd have to add gold to the posts to put the diamond back and gave me a quote. They said it'd be done in one week so next Monday. Saturday I was getting coffee next door and decided to go and check if it was done early. When I got there I gave them my slip and he said he'd go check. It was pretty clear they just started working on it when I showed up. Makes me questions if they were just going to start working on it Monday when I showed up then or perhaps it was because I was a day early they were trying to get it done right then. What should've been a quick easy fix unfortunately was not. They shattered my entire ring. They were very apologetic and seemed embarrassed it had happened. We were very understanding and they told us to take it back to where we got it as it was made badly and that's why it shattered. We said we would and left with the pieces of my ring. Looking back I'm pretty disappointed they did not once offer to rebuild it free of charge as they are the ones that shattered it. I went from missing a diamond to my ring being in pieces and although apologetic they didn't offer to rebuild it free of charge. They were quick to blame whoever made it and told us to have them fix it for free. We had to send it to the Jeweler in New York where we got it. He was very shocked to hear what had happened and assured us it would be fixed free of charge. He said he did an autopsy of all the pieces we sent him and he and his team found this to be the cause of my ring shattering. From New York jewelers "Autopsy Report Yellow gold solder was utilized during the repair of a rose gold ring. Upon recognizing the mismatch, the jeweler attempted to correct the error but inadvertently applied excessive heat, resulting in a crack in the setting. Subsequent attempts to rectify and conceal the crack involved additional heat application, ultimately causing the ring to lose structural integrity and collapse." I have attached photos of my ring before and after we brought it here. It sounds like the were using the wrong kind of gold to fix the ring and in attempts to correct mistakes ended up shattering it. I am again disappointed in their lack of accountability or offer to fix the ring free of charge. I should've have pushed harder for them to fix it while I was there. read more

He said no backs, he could give me those little plastic ones. I am fairly new to this area and needed a watch band/bracelet replaced. Covid has changed their hours (closing now at 4pm) , but at 3:30, the clerk on the phone said to come down. I arrived at 3:40 pm, and the repair guy met me with nothing but courtesy. (Not like a guy who wanted to close up early). Nice. Of course my ceramic watch & bracelet was a weird one. But he took his time in order to figure out the best way to change it. It turns out you have to actually break the old Invicta ceramic band off before you can install the exact same new band. Once he started, it was exchanged, adjusted to size, and paid for at 3:59! I am pleased with the job that was done and the ring was enlarged from size 4 to size 6 to fit perfectly. I'm very happy with it. The repair man is very nice & courteous, professional, a good listener, and kind. The owners provided me with excellent customer service and gave me a good price for an additional jewel piece to go with a rare blue/green sapphire I own. I had gone to Sharif's first to get a quote and it just struck me as too high--Berilian's quote was $100 less and they advised me they'd be doing the exact same work that Sharif's had quoted me(!) Also, I was leaving for a trip to nyc two days later and I was told they would have the rings done before that! Awesome. The next day, I received my rings and they looked beautiful! (I forget what it's called-but, on my white gold rings they fixed the fading--so, they looked brand new!) And the cuts they made looked seamless--not even visible...just good work! I went there to have a watch repaired and to possibly sell or trade three rings. They advertise all over the place that they pay more for jewelry than other places. First the rings. They offered me $400 cash or $700 trade in value. That huge disparity right away told me about their markup. One of the three rings is gold with 30 small diamond chips and one .66 carat diamond. I have had two stores offer me $600 cash for that one ring alone. True, the diamonds are old cuts but they still have more value than this store offered. Truly they were low balling me As for the watch repair, they did nothing. After telling me they would send it to their watchmaker for an estimate they called me and said a new battery solved the one problem and they were able to fix the other which was the back would not stay on. I went to pick up the watch. The back was off and would not stay on any better than when I brought it in. The watch wax not running. They had not even sent it for an estimate as they said they would do. So they had it for a week and did absolute nothing. Terrible service all around. Will not patronize them again. read more

I'm getting married in December. My fiance' and I took my engagement ring and wedding ring to a different jewelry repair shop to have them sized down- from a 7 to a 5 1/2 (the size the person recommended) and it cost $300 to have both done (platinum rings)...Once I had them back, they were still too big. I figured that it wouldn't be a bid deal but after a few weeks, it was bothering me that the engagement ring was moving around and at times, falling off. We didn't want to spend another $300 to get them re-sized again so, after seeing an ad we received in the mail, and reading reviews here on Yelp about Berilian Jeweler, we decided to take them there. We were quoted $50 per ring and $20 for stone tightening...GREAT DEAL. The woman also recommended, after I thought that I would need to go down to 4 1/2, that I go to 4.25 and boy was she right! We took my rings in on Saturday and we had them back by lunch time on Friday, they fit perfectly, and $120 was A LOT better than the $300 we previously spent. I was pricing a pair fo diamond stud earrings and really found Berilian to have the best price... I originally purchased some 2/3 (0.67) Carat from another place that I had a membership too (one of those membership warehouse deals) for $1149 and brought them in to Berilian to compare and ended up getting the same quality, same size for only $880!!! Luckily I was able to return the original pair. I have since been in to get service on my watch and found they had really fast turn around on the repair.... I am all in favor of supporting local business ESPECIALLY when the local business is superior to the big box stores, as is the case with Berilian Jewelers.
