I recently visited Sharif Jewelers in Folsom looking for a Montblanc pen. I was lucky enough to be assisted by Summer. Her customer service was exceptional! Summer was very friendly and personable. She made the shopping experience very enjoyable. She even offered me a cup of Turkish coffee and a Baklava. I have never tried Turkish coffee before, but I gave it a try. It is incredible! At no time did I feel pressured to make a purchase. Summer was focused on helping me find the perfect pen to start my journey in pen collecting, not just making a sale. Living in Sacramento for the greater part of my life, I had heard of Sharif's for ages. So, when I wanted a custom gold piece, I decided to check them out. Upon walking in, their selection in what I was looking for was lacking. I was looking for an 18K yellow gold bar that I could have some writing lasered onto. For starters, they didn't have any 18K pieces. All they were able to show me behind the counter were 14K gold pieces. Also, they didn't have any bars, but they did say they could order it for me. Furthermore, there was no rhyme or reason to their pricing. I checked out another jewelry store that was going to charge me the price of gold per gram for the piece I wanted but Sharif's said they don't do that. They charge the retail price, so they can basically charge you whatever they want. They showed me a tiny rectangular gold plate that was around $1,000, which I thought was insane. Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here to purchase gold, unless you want to pay high retail markups on it. read more

Our Grandma's 70 year old ring was damaged in the Camp Fire, laying in the soot and dirt for approximately 3 months, highly oxidized and cracked. We didn't think it was possible to have this restored, but Sharif tackled the job confidently. I was greeted right away and treated with great service. Monique addressed the problem with me and went over what was needed to repair it, soldering plus removing the broken link. She took pictures of the bracelet, made notes on it, and gave me a quote for a very fair price. They had it fixed just two days later. She was a pleasure to work with! Beware. I was contacted by an employee, by the name of Julia, of Sharif Jeweler's Folsom location regarding a 2 ct diamond ring I was selling on the internet. I had just had it appraised by a well-respected jewelry store in Elk Grove for 10K. I was selling it for 5K. I was asked to bring it into the Folsom location to sell it to a "relative." When I arrived Julia checked it out thoroughly, and indicated that the appraisal I had was correct. Then the relative arrived, and I was directed to a private office where I was told the ring was only worth 3K, and that's what they would give me. When I said no the lady became very irate, and said I should sell it. I took two hours out of my day to make the drive, waited over an hour at the store, and then apparently was the victim of an attempted scam. read more
