The ring that I picked up was custom made/altered from a catalogue, and the stone I purchased on my own was set in that. I bought my fiance's ring from David Yurman and it was a little big. They wouldn't exchange it and I would have to purchase another ring. I called Mon Bijou and they were SO friendly. What a great shop! I had my ring set cleaned in Folsom and the guy told me I needed the prongs around my engagement ring redone and the diamond was at risk of falling out. Quoted me at $250. I told him I'd be back and just quit wearing my ring. Last week I called Mon Bijou to have the prongs worked on because this is closer to home. Elizabeth quoted me at $35 over the phone. What?!? I came in on Monday and talked to Pamela. She looked at the ring and said with her 30+ years of experience, she could see nothing wrong with my ring and it didn't need the prongs redone. She said if I wanted to for comfort they could reinforce the setting but it really wasn't necessary. I did that just to be on the safe side and saved myself $220. Picked the ring up from Chad and it looks fantastic! They shined it up and now she's one sparkling beauty! Couldn't be happier. read more

I love the staff at Mon Bijou Jewelers. My fiancé and I came in to discuss ideas (mine mainly) for an engagement ring. I had looked at various designs and settings online and had an idea in mind. I came in to see Pam and showed her pictures from the Internet that I liked. She was able to pull out a variety of settings that were similar to what I was looking for. I told her I wanted a colored stone. She placed the stones in the setting so I could see how it would look. I spent a couple hours on my "first" visit. Then I came back again and spent another hour or so. She was so patient and calm. And she definitely knows her stuff. She is honest and looks out for the customers best interests. I never felt rushed or that she was bothered by my indecisiveness. I felt like her goal was for me to be happy. I decided on a halo setting with a yellow sapphire center stone. She showed me two different options and let me decide. The setting had the most beautiful diamonds that I had ever seen. I knew they were excellent quality. I go back to her for repairs, and to window shop. I will definitely come back in four years when it's time for my 10 year anniversary band. I prefer their store over any cookie cutter... all about the sell jewelry store. My engagement ring is definitely one of a kind. She has onsite repairs and cleaning which makes it pretty much a one stop shop. The new store in Folsom looks exactly like her previous shop in EDH. My watched stopped running so I went by Mon Bijou with the intent of dropping it off. I hoped it was just the battery, it had been years since I replaced it. I was thinking they'd have time to look at it in a couple of days and if it was just the battery, I'd get off cheap: $35 would be reasonable. But the young man at the counter said he could tell if the batteries was bad in a few minutes. A woman, I'm guessing the owner, offered me some advice about how I could tell when the battery was getting low. ... The young man returned minutes later to the show room with my running watch, and told me the charge for the battery was $10. ... I was impressed! ... Terrific customer service even on a $10 order. ... I'm thinking of reasons for going back. read more

This store is a secret gem! I wanted to buy my high school aged daughter a small, simple solid gold cross for her birthday-- nothing too big or blingy. She's more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of teenager. After looking all over Folsom and Roseville for months, I finally stumbled into this place while waiting for my oil change at Speedy nearby. They had exactly what I'd been looking for. I gave her the pendant on a gold chain that I already owned and she LOVED it... mom points! Sadly, a few months later my daughter told me she had broken the chain accidentally. (I didn't think about her active lifestyle and she was wearing it all of the time :). So, back to MonBijou I went and told them what my daughter's needs were and they were able to recommend a strong, yet nice looking 18" chain that didn't over power the smaller size of the cross, and they added another jump ring 1.5" from the end so that she can wear it 2 different ways. They have full-service jewelry and watch repair and customization right in the back. So I went and ordered lunch nearby and before I had finished eating it was finished. I am so excited to give her a quality chain that I know she'll get a lot of use out of. It's just refreshing to be able to talk to a real expert and get to customize something that I was able to examine in person. (Online shopping has its limitations.) read more

I have a beautiful new engagement ring that was custom designed for me in Manhattan. When I had a loose diamond, I had no idea where to go being new to the area. I stopped by the store after being treated not so nicely elsewhere and was immediately made comfortable with the understanding, knowledge, and professionalism I received here by the owners son. The next day, I took my ring to their Cameron Park location for repairs. They built up the prongs and tightened them.
