The biggest of shout outs to this wonderful place of business!!!! I was very upset when my car was hit & run when I was parked and I was responsible for the repair. Berkeley Auto Body is the best - the work, the professionalism of Jared and Sammy AND the beyond reasonable price. They were a third of the two other estimates so I did wonder if their work would be inferior, like you get what you pay for, but NO, my car is as good as new. I'm one happy customer! Was told repair would take 1 1/2 weeks but turned out to be 2 1/2 weeks which isn't too bad considering the amount of damage. Everyone is very friendly and that's important to me. I really had only 1 major issue and that's why I rate them 4 STARS rather than 5. No one called me to update me on the status. I had to call several times to get a finish date and every time I called I was told "should be ready by xxxxx", but then on the day they said it should be ready I would have to call back and then the date changed (3 times). I took my car to fix after a front damage on my car. I spoke with John and explained the details of damages that were from the accident and not from previous accident because my car was in a good condition. He was very helpful so I decide to leave my car even after I read the last bad review on the place. 1st I got not information about the damages until I call the 4th day nothing on writing. 2nd no estimated date to be ready so it took over 10 days to just change the bumper. 3rd there were some scratches in the hood,he said that he would take care of that but insurance said no after the car was in the shop because it was previously painted and was in bad condition. I understood that. 4th so the lights bulb from the right headlight was out of place and told him. Was never fixed, the employee fixed when I picked up the car. When I got home the other light bulb was out of place left side. That was ok. 5th the left headlight the rubber around it was out of place a little bit because front impact, he said don't worry we will fix that too. It never was touched. I was so happy that my car was going to be in good hands but big disappointment. Finally I got a call from John asking why I did a bad review on the farmers insurance survey we discussed it and he said that he did a good job in a shitty car. 2013 Mercedez benz c300. What started off as a reputable place for me quickly deteriorated to become an only in New Jersey experience. I had to pay a $750, deductible but I was told "We will allow you to get your car back if you bring 700$ cash in an envelope. Felt like I was dealing with organised crime. read more

Let's start off by saying that this place is an Insurance Preferred shop..That should raise immediate red flags from the start. Insurance preferred is another saying for work that saves the insurance company money, which results to unsatisfactory work for the owner of the vehicle. When I came here the first time it seemed like a reputable shop. I was greeted in a good manner, and when I went over the damage with the owner, Joe LaPosta, he made it seem as if everything was no big deal and would get done without any hassles. When I got the call that my car was ready to be picked up about a week later, needless to say I was excited. When I got there, the job was terrible! There was contaminants all in the paint, an improperly positioned bumper, dents in the paint, nicks in paint which exposed the deep coats, and they forgot to paint one of the panels of my car. I pointed everything out and of course they said they would take care of it. When they called me to say the car was ready for the 2nd time, I was worried about the results that I would see. They needed to remove my hood to repaint it, and surely the hood wasn't sitting properly, and one of the workers put a chip in my freshly painted fender with the corner of the hood that he was trying to put back on, and left my fender with the chip. And to add to this, there was still contaminants in the paint that needed to be wet sanded to be removed. I brought the car back again for the 3rd time to fix the chip in the fender and other various things, and when I got it back there was touch up paint on my hood, because whoever used touch up for the fender decided to do it while the hood was closed. And I saw damage elsewhere and they claimed that it wasn't them. In addition to all of this, I received free scratches around my car, remaining contaminants in my paint, and bumps in paint which I will not be getting fixed here, but at a local car wash who certainly knows more about paint and wet sanding than these guys. I honestly think this shop hires rookies or workers that have no idea what they're doing. Damaged repainted parts, contaminants in the paint, dents in the paint, bumps in the paint, swirls in my fresh paint, improperly positioned parts, paint overspray on panels and glass, and damaged parts that they claim wasn't them even though it obviously was. Needless to say, I'm more than happy to be done with these guys. The rest of my issues will be fixed at my local car wash who will wet sand the necessary parts, and try to flatten the bumps in the paint. The fact that I'm going to a car wash instead of this body shop to fix my paint says it all. If you really love your car don't take it here, this place should only be fixing beaters with the type of work that they do. Only good thing is that the owner, Joe LaPosta, does want to make you happy, but his workers make that impossible. read more

i had gotten into a very nasty accident due to a drunk driver who had completely ruined my car. I thought there was no hope, yet my sister recommended me to Berkeley auto body. I had called up and spoke to jared, said to be the assistant manager, he was over all very friendly and made me feel a lot better in insisting he could help me. My insurance worked with them so it was a breeze. The manager john assured me he would have my car back to me by January 13th and sure enough i received a call that morning to come pick up my car. It was in perfect condition and was cleaned! Overall couldnt have had a better experience and wouldnt trust anyone else with my car.
