I was in a car accident, and I was very stressed out about getting my car repaired because I had to come out of pocket to rent a car while the repairs were taking place. Bloomfield Collision accomidated to my needs very well. Fabian got me the lowest rental rate and he even had Enterprise bring me the rental car at the shop. They worked at lightning speed. My car was ready in one week and the work was flawless. Claribel, the office manager, was also great. She was professional and took care of payment arrangements very well. Absolutely Do Not Trust This Place - They Went Through My Personal Belongings and Stole From Me I took my car here to have the side door fixed after a minor accident. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to go into my trunk during the repair. But when I got home, I discovered that someone had gone into my trunk -- and stolen from me. I had an unopened box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates inside a gift bag in my trunk. When I picked up my car, I didn't check immediately. A few days later, I opened my trunk and saw EMPTY chocolate wrappers left behind -- right where the gift bag had been. The chocolates were gone. Even worse, I noticed other items missing -- branded mugs and notebooks I use as gifts for my clients. I live alone. No one drives or rides in my car but me. Those wrappers didn't get there on their own. When I called the shop to report what happened, the manager was incredibly rude and defensive. I calmly explained the situation and made it clear I wasn't looking to make a big deal -- I just wanted to be heard and for him to take it seriously. Instead, he refused to consider that any of his employees could have done it. He said he'd "check the cameras and call me back." Of course, he never did. It's not about the chocolates -- it's about the principle. No one should be going through a customer's personal belongings, especially not to take things. The manager's dismissive and guilty-sounding reaction made the whole situation worse. I wouldn't trust this place with a tire change, let alone major repairs. Stay far away. If they'll go through your trunk for candy and gifts, imagine what else they'd help themselves to. read more

I unfortunately had another incident I needed work done on so I came back. The girl at the front desk had no idea what she was doing and couldn't find my appointment until someone explained to her how to do it. Is that not the first thing that gets covered? They estimated 4 days but it took a week which sucked but some things take as long as they take. I immediately checked the turn signal and AGAIN it wasn't working when they replaced bumper. This wasn't a one off thing -- they clearly don't check this and it's a big safety issue to not signal you're turning. Geico recommended them but what I forgave the first time seems to be repeated patterns of not having things straightened out. I added "rental" to my insurance so if I need repairs again, I don't have to go to this place just because it's in walking distance from me. I personally wouldn't come back here. read more

I really had a hard time giving them a 2 for their repair job that they did on my vehicle recently. November 25th, a drunk driver came down my block destroying the drivers side of my car. His insurance claimed full responsibility but only wanted to pay for part of the damages. So I went through my insurance. I finally dropped it off to BC Monday Dec 2nd. It took a few days to get some sort of response, but they said that it should be ready by the 13th. My wife picked it up that day, and I brought it right back the next morning. There were a few things that they missed fixing. My car was making a loud buzzing noise along with it now shaking. I brought it back and told them to finish the job. hey had my car another week! I finally got it back on the 19th, and it still wasn't done. I had to bring it to my dealership to get the rest fixed. I really don't know why it was so difficult to repair. As far as the staff goes, they are meh. They are decently friendly each time i spoke to them, but they always take down my number and promise to call me back with answers to my questions, and they never do. Dealing with Randy the manager is ok, he also took a long time to get back to me. I really just wanted my car back and they made it as difficult as possible... I don't recommend going here. this business is a good example of where you should be able to give zero stars or be able to deduct. Absolutely horrible customer service and terrible outcome. they are completely unresponsive and disorganized. Any estimate they give you on time or money expect it to be 3x more expensive and 3x a long. They are also untruthful where they are along the process; if you ever happen to call and ask on status- they will lie.. they even went so far as to blame the insurance company when i called and verified that they were the ones not providing complete paperwork. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be extremely disappointed and frustrated beyond belief. there are many other body shops to chose from in the area. read more

I had other new bumper for my car that I brought to Bloomfield Collision for painting. This is just new unpainted bumper without mounting hardware, accessories and grills, for painting and will replace the old one. Alvin the son of the owner agreed to paint it for $475.00. After 2 days the bumper was done but color was way off (too bluish, see the attached 1st painted). Alvin, Pascual, Alex (the owner) and the painter Kenny knew paint was way off (bluish) right off the bat when just put it next to the car but they still insisted color was matching so Kenny the painter told me to install the bumper and it will magically match. He made even a deal to pay for it if color is bad. So I came back and installed. I knew the color was off any person can distinguish right away so just to prove I showed the painter how it looks (see attached 1st painted). It's just they were making it difficult for me for them to get away obviously. They accepted it to be repainted but cancelled me many times about 3 times. After that it took another 3 weeks before they finally started repainting for the reason they said Kenny's son had an accident and they don't know when he was going back to work. Now the 2nd time it was repainted again it was off (too dark grayish see attached 2nd painted). I picked it up and knowing there was white dirts on the side of the bumper when I brought it home. I called Alvin the next day and told him there were white marking of scratches. He was screaming over the phone telling me he won't accept it back in anyway he doesn't want to do anything with me again. I insisted and he told me to bring it and put the bumper on. So I went back and installed the bumper to show the scratched for them to wax/buf it. Of course they insisted I did the scratches and telling me why I din't tell them when I picked up the bumper. I told them I didn't because I thought they were dirt thinking I can bring it back if I found any problem like the 1st time it was painted when I took it he didn't let me check when I wanted to check before I leave and he just said painting were good if there's a problem I just let him know. So I called a police when I was there arguing with another person Fabian (he said he was a manager), because I sensed they were again making everything very very difficult. I asked for a police report so I have something that I can show when I bring it to the court. I know they will not do it for the 3rd time and I will not do business with them ever again so I rather asked for refund. Apparently they will not give my money back. SO be aware and stay away with these people! for your own sake don't be a victim like me! read more

I was reminded of the horrible experience I had here as my refurbished ac that they put in still doesn't work (AC was working perfect before accident, mind you). It was around December of 2014 but based off the reviews it sounds like the same people are working there. The owner was extremely shady. I was put in contact with them through Progressive at the time because they made it sound easy and convenient and I really regretted it. It turned out to be such a hassle dealing with the bad work they did. Take aways: 1) I was left on the side of the road with smoke coming out of my hood (this wasn't the only time I was left on the side of the road because of their work). Alex wanted me to hide it from progressive which originally I did because I felt bad. One mistake didn't seem so bad even though it was completely inconvenient for me to wait on the side of the road after already arranging a ride to go pick my car up. Then having to wait at enterprise because he said he'd pay for a car.. but it was literally only for night so I had to go return it right away so it was actually more of a hassle. If I went through Progressive, they would have covered the whole time. When they continuously messed up I finally told progressive and the owner was angry I ratted him out. He acted completely unprofessional after and passive aggressive. 2) They couldn't fix simple things like fog lights. At one point they even told me I don't have fog lights even though my dashboard was lighting up for fog lights. They acted like it was a big deal and someone else did it within a minute. 3) Had to keep taking it to another mechanic to check their work. They were extremely careless. For example, battery terminal left loose or hoses not tightened type of things. I sent in pictures to Progressive of my reservoir leaking what looked like anti-freeze. 4) The experience of dealing with this place was worse than the actual accident itself. Moral of the story, this place is extremely DISHONEST and unprofessional. They do not know how to fix cars well. I would not trust them with anything. My mechanic eventually went to them to vouch for the condition of my car before. They do not admit to their mistakes. They were lying to the Progressive agent on site. I had to call progressive customer service because I felt that the agent on site (Colin) and Alex were too friendly. Alex actually tried to turn the agent against me which is when I finally told the whole truth of ALL the issues that was happening including how I was asked not to tell Progressive. read more

I brought the my car here recommended by GEICO after I wrecked the front right side of my vehicle after hitting a deer on Rt-3 last December 2015. Returned the vehicle couple of weeks after for a job terribly done. Plus an additional repair because the rental I dropped off at their location was damaged and was blamed on me. After the initial repair last December, I was on the impression that everything was ok with the repair until I had a chance to drive into traffic in NYC. I was in a heavy traffic and my vehicle started overheating. Checking the coolant reservoir, I found out it was dry and empty. Same goes with the radiator. Ok, I thought that the shop forgot to refill the coolant in my radiator after the repair, so I filled it up and let this pass. Since it was still winter, I never thought that something was really wrong because driving thru cold weather, your engine will never overheat. But after 3 days, the check engine light went on. I checked under the hood and found out that my radiator dried up again. Another week of refilling and drying out of coolant, I found out that there was a crack at my radiator that the shop overlooked. I brought it back to be repaired and replaced. After a day, I checked under the hood to see if the coolant level has not changed, finding out that there were missing screws that was not placed. At the same time, the splash guard at the bottom of the engine was put in the wrong way and I have to bring the vehicle to the dealer to install it the right way. Here's the worst part of the experience. I had a rental with Enterprise on their location. I was on the impression that if i drop off the rental. It was understood that the rental vehicle is in a safe location. There were no Enterprise representative in their office at this location after 1pm, so my impression was that if I gave the keys or the rental to any employee in Bloomfield Collision (which I handed to the girl at the desk, I assume she is a receptionist for the shop), I assumed that I was in the clear and was signed out. Come that following monday, Enterprise called me and said that I damaged the rental vehicle and they are charging my insurance. I know for a fact that I returned that rental in good condition and no accident occurred when I was driving it. I know that someone in the shop or the representative of Enterprise played with that rental after I dropped it off. I consulted the whole incident with a lawyer but I cannot afford the additional expense. So I was left with just taking the false blame for the whole incident. With all these that had happened, I will never bring my vehicle here even if GEICO tells me I should. The people here cannot be trusted! read more

I wish I could give them no stars. They started out being very communicative, promising my car would be ready on 4/20 (I bought it in on 4/11). I get it. They had to contact my insurance company and get the part. Received a text on 4/18 that my car was on track to be completed 4/20. The 20th comes and I hear nothing. I call. Yours is the next car to be painted. If anything happens, your car will be the first one in (Friday). Friday comes and I hear nothing again. I call, it will be ready first thing Saturday. And I'm told, none too subtly, don't call us we'll call you. Saturday comes, nothing. I'm looking at the clock and I realize I won't be picking up my car today. Shop closes at noon on Saturday. I get a call at 11:53 telling me my car is ready and I can pick it up. Don't you close at noon? Yes, you'll have to pick it up Monday. I can only assume they have a certain amount of time in which to complete repairs and wanted to be able to tell the insurance company they met the deadline. I hope I never have another accident, but if I do, I won't be going back to them. read more

After an accident that damaged the front bumper and grill of the car, I had it towed to Bloomfield Collision because of their well-established relationship with Geico. The Geico adjuster evaluates the car on sight and Enterprise brings the rental there, too. This part is great and easy, but it's all downhill from there. My car was dropped off on December 4 and they said it would be done in 1 week. When I called a week later, they said they needed to order parts and it would be done in another week. Each week that I called, the two women who answered the phone were short and said, "we'll call you when the car is ready." Another week went by and they unapologetically told me it would be another week. We continued in this pattern - they never called me to tell me their initial time estimate would be extended, they never apologized, they simply repeated, "we'll call you when the car is ready. We have a lot of vehicles we're working on right now." In the end, my car was there from 12/4/19 until 1/4/20. My rental car benefit was maxed out on 1/2/20, so I was without a car for a few days. When I finally got my car home, I immediately found that the spare tire was missing. I called the shop and they said they'd look for it. I told them I was on my way back there and would arrive in 15 minutes. When I arrived at 12:04pm, they were locking the door and leaving, despite the fact that I told them I was 15 minutes away. They gave me a spare - no way of knowing if it was mine. Though the work they did seems competent, the customer service and speed of service here is atrocious. read more

Took my car here because it's the nearest GEICO partnered body shop. I was hesitant to use them because of the negative reviews. Then GEICO agent went over the pros of using a GEICO partnered service (because I asked, not because they tried to persuade me to use them), so I decided to save myself some time and effort and used them. I was rear ended, the original estimate was $800, and when they took out the bumper, they found more damage, so the final bill went to $2300. The staff was friendly, repair took less than a week (including ordering OEM bumper). I have been using my car for months now, so far nothing to complain. read more

When my husband had a minor accident with his Toyota Rav4, we called our insurance company, Geico, and they recommended Bloomfield Collision. The whole experience went as smooth as can be. Geico is right there on the premises of Bloomfield Collision, as is Enterprise Car Rental, and everything from getting the car inspected by the insurance adjustor to having the body work done and getting a free rental car was handled in one place. Since this is a long review, the short version is: I wouldn't recommend this place. They underbid on their initial quote by not including a piece of bodywork that obviously had to be fixed, but more importantly, put a gash in the leather seat of our new car and insisted it was already there. Not a good experience. We went to Bloomfield Collision to have our 2 month old Toyota Sienna repaired after an unfortunate scrape with a barrier in a parking lot in which the right sliding rear door and the piece of trim below the door were damaged. The door still worked fine, but since the car was brand new, we wanted it to look like new again. We went with Bloomfield because they were the lowest of the quotes we had received. When my wife went to drop off the car to have the work done, they figured out that they hadn't included the piece of trim under the door in the quote. The employee was apologetic, but said he had to add $160 to the price to fix the piece of trim. During this process of updating the quote, the rear door was opened as the damaged trim below the door was discussed. We were annoyed, because it felt a bit like a bait and switch, but decided to go forward anyway because they were still the cheapest of our estimates. A week later we picked up the car. The outside of the car looked fine-it was an easy job, just replacing two pieces, no other bodywork. But when my wife got home and opened the newly replaced door, she saw a big gash in the side of the leather back seat on that side of the car. My wife immediately went back to Bloomfield Collision to complain. They were prepared, and said they had seen the tear, but that it had been in the car when they got it. As "proof", they showed her a photo of the ripped seat taken about 30 hours after she had dropped the car off. When we pointed out the obvious, i.e., it could have occurred in the 30 hours between when we dropped it off and they took the picture, they said they had surveillance video that would show they didn't do it, but they would need a few days to review it to make certain. We had about a week of back and forth with the employee who had done our quote and the owner, Alex, as they reviewed their tape. In my discussion with the employee, I asked how he could have had the door to the van open as he redid the quote when my wife was dropping off the van and not seen the gash in the seat. He didn't have a good answer. In the end, however, Alex insisted their tape proved they hadn't damaged the seat. As I tried to convey to Alex the situation when we had dropped off the car and had the quote fixed, he was insistent that the original quote was correct, and should have only included the door because we said we "wanted our door fixed". Aside from the fact that Alex wasn't present when the original quote was done, this struck me as absurd. How could you give a quote to fix cosmetic damage on a brand new car and not include all of the damaged body panels? Exasperated, I said, "you're talking nonsense," to which he responded that if I "cursed" at him again he would end the conversation. In the end, he insisted that he was not at fault, and that said me and my wife were trying to get one over on him by getting him to fix something he didn't damage. So, I'm stuck likely paying several hundred dollars to have my seat fixed. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place. The owner wouldn't acknowledge his employee screwing up a quote, let alone putting a gash in the leather seat of my car. read more

One of the worse places to bring your vehicle for ANY TYPE OF SERVICE. First off the staff will yes Sir/Ma'am you to death during your first visit. That's when things change. Once you leave. Work is very shabby and non uniformed. I had to have my car fixed after being hit. Geico suggested this shop. When ever you ask for a detailed summery of work all you will receive is a hand written form that just states a price. Nothing explaining the work or parts or hours. Even after repeated attempts of asking for an itemized quote. Nothing. So pick up vehicle and I noticed extream over sprays. Parts installed as "new" with chips and damage. Sections of vehicle not repaired. After pointing out issues.. that's where the real scams begins. Weeks go by with your car at their shop. No work being done. Told staff is sick or we already repaired. If you ask questions or call them out on information you were told, that's when the owner becomes extremely defensive and rude. Attempts to bully customers or tells them to leave. He figures he was already paid so,it doesn't matter. Owner counts on customers not willing to file a claim in small claims court. Geico apparently doesn't seem to mind the issues. Also experienced issues of fraud billings. Attempts to be paid via cash and promises of cheaper prices. I have both bills for cash payments in writing from the shop and those charging tax. I have bills that meet the exact prices of insurance claim repairs but for added on work. Interesting. Do your self a favor, read all the reviews. Alex is extreamly shady. If you have any issues with your repairs you are out of luck. Worse yet even with a guarantee, you will be forced to use the same horrible shop. If so many reviews are saying the same thing... we all can't be wrong read more

Before we dive into the negative experience of the review, I would like to say that I was sent to this location through Geico. Giselle was lovely at the front desk; awesome personality, and extremely accommodating. Lamar, on the Enterprise side, was equally accommodating, and went above and beyond my expectations as a first-time renter for a temporary vehicle. Before going into the shop, the only thing wrong with my car was the cracked bumper, from someone backing into me. Upon receiving my vehicle (quite an exceptional turn around time), I experienced four new issues: 1) my passenger door was not opening (After 20 minutes, they fixed it on the spot) 2) my right turn signal was blown 3) there is a god awful vibration coming from the right front wheel well 4) my positive cable disconnected from my battery while driving, a few days after the repair (this has never happened before, ever). I called after the battery disconnect, as I was on Route 3 when this happened. I spoke to Alex, who I must have caught on a bad day judging by the previous reviews, who essentially went the entire conversation telling me I was wrong. He then proceeded to ask why I did not immediately notify him that the blinker was out, and seemed upset that I could not come in to show him the car that same day. (I told him I barely drove the vehicle, due to my traveling with work) After I arrived, I could instantaneously gauge the "inconvenience" he saw in me, from his tone and body language. He then proceeded to show me, in a condescending and disrespectful manner, that if you disconnect the battery while the car is on, the alternator will power it. "Thank you, Alex, for sending a voltage spike through the electrical system of my vehicle." It seems that because HE had never heard of a battery cable coming unloose in HIS 25 years of fixing cars, "I" was wrong. For those wondering, an alternator will not be able to power a vehicle at IDLE, ONCE DAMAGED, especially while running lights/accessories. It was a shame, because I almost loved this place! 99% of my experience was great, but this guy was intolerable. I had never gotten into an accident, and had heard so many stories of terrible repair experiences. Yup, Alex was that story, for me. I ended up paying to have my car serviced else where for the rumble, because I did not want to have to interact with this gentleman again. I was, in all probability, an extremely rare occurence, but personally will not be revisiting this location. read more

I had a terrible experience and would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner lied that the part was on back order. As a result, I had to extend my rental by 4 days. I called the dealer directly and found out the part can be special deliveried and be there in 2 days. When I told the owner, he screamed at me and told me I am confusing him. Then he said, I had to pay $13 for special delivery. When I agreed, he still sounded hesitant and said the work will still not be done till next week. I asked how much to pick up the car without the missing part and he said I have to give him the full insurance check even though he hasn't completed the work and he couldn't guarantee that the part will be in on time before my vacation. As I was explaining that I was leaving for vacation in 4 days and had to have my car, he screamed again and hung up on me. I am convinced that he is ordering low standard parts and that is why he is mad that I called the dealer and found the part available. He is a crook and a bully and is conducting insurance fraud by lying about the unavailability of the part and having insurance pay for 4 additional days of rental. My son is special needs and the car is a modified van for his every day use and this owner is telling me that the car will stay in his garage until the part gets there unless I hand over the full insurance check for the work that is not finished. read more

So I was pressured by my insurance carrier to bring my car to this shop because they are a preferred shop and all their work is guarantied. After many times during my call with my claim adjuster he only kept telling me that the car still has to go to a preferred shop for an estimate when I wanted it to go to the dealership and after receiving my car "repaired" from this shop and continuously going back (and out of my way) for unnecessary repairs that could have been taken care of from the initial repair the first time. They took way too many shortcuts to save the insurance carries as much money as possible. Save yourself a headache if you have Progressive or GEICO go to a shop that's going to actually fix your car and not patch it up. The only reason they were given 2 stars was at least they had great customer service there. read more

I've never written a Yelp review for an auto body shop before, but I need to let people know about this great place (I swear I have nothing to do with this shop!). I had gotten into a fender bender with a truck entering the Lincoln Tunnel. Bloomfield Collision's estimate was roughly 40% less than the other local shops I had visited (Ferrara's and Budd's, both of which do very good work, but were significantly more expensive). Not only did Bloomfield complete the repair in a single day (the other shops indicated that they would need to keep my car for three days), but the owner Alex (very nice guy) provided both pick-up and drop-off service to my house! The car looks good as new, and they guaranteed their work. Great body shop. It's near the Home Depot in Bloomfield (right side of the street). read more
