As a devoted and doting consumer for years, I need to say that this is my favorite raw/living foods…read morecompany! I absolutely love Living Tree Community Foods! The quality of the products is second to none, i.e. the almond butter is the best among any brand I've ever tasted, and the seeds, spices, honey, cacao, coconut butters, sugars, grains, nuts and oils that I have ordered have all been extremely fresh and vibrant-tasting. Even though the products had to be shipped across the country from the West to the East coast to reach my door, they always arrive undamaged and taste like they have just been harvested. I wish I lived in Berkeley because then I would be begging for a job at LTC! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping educate and supply the healthiest living foods so that we all can live a long and healthy life!

Lake Baikal Siberian Pine Nut Butter - Alive & Organic…read more I am a real nut and seed butter lover. I have tried many. I am also a pine nut fan. I make pesto weekly, with fresh organic basil and organic extra virgin olive oil. Sometimes, I eat pine nuts as a snack. I had never heard of Siberian Pine Nuts until I came upon this delicacy. This is a real treat. It has the most delicate buttery, creamy, slightly sweet and complex taste. It was very hard to put the spoon down. This is perfect for dipping fruit, spreading on toast, for adding to a smoothie or making pesto; but I honestly wouldn't. This is a real indulgence on its own. I absolutely recommend this product. It's raw, organic, made by an amazing company; it's a real sensory experience. True delicacy!

I'm realizing my eyes are bigger than the stomachs I'm feeding as I didn't run out after the first week. They offer so much variety I want to try it all. I have experiencing some herxing one night, from having their meals multiple times a day, so I have to be careful with my gut for now. This food is medicine, which is great, but can be too much for some people like myself. There was even one meal my husband liked everything we had. The frittata and mushroom soup. I'm glad he's starting to come on board despite not too many solid meat options, as most are ground.

I only had the chance to try one thing and opted for the blood orange cardamom kefir made with molasses and vanilla bean. How cool. I really enjoyed it. Cardamom and blood orange are both easily overdone, but not in this case. Extremely well executed. I think the vanilla bean worked behind the scenes to help mellow everything out. Yum. I downed the bottle and returned it (for a cash refund of the bottle deposit) before moving on to my next fermentation destination.

Starting with an arresting blow-up of Italian movie star Monica Vitti behind the checkout, it's a visually pleasing emporium because it's not overcrowded with idiosyncratic products. The wine collection is particularly interesting with labels unknown to me. I've been tempted by the delectables in the Grab & Go section, but I've demurred for the sake of discretion. In fact, having almost no knowledge of any of these products, I only recently bought something here because I want to support them. I got a box of Rooibos tea and a jar of Hawaiian masala (Photo 10). I look forward to buying more in the future, though one thought I had was that this store would benefit from samples. On a previous visit, there was a bakery pop-up in front (Photo 8), and I think more of that activity could encourage more in-store traffic. It'll be interesting to see how this business evolves.
