Before choosing Berkeley Smog Test only, I looked at other locations closer to home that also offered promotions. Most of these promotions had limitations that meant I could not use their discount. Went with Berkeley Smog Test after reading reviews and seeing they had an even better promo with Groupon that did not have those other limitations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Got the Groupon, made an appointment on their website.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Went during my appointment time, was seen right away and done with smog test in less than 30 minutes. No difficulty using Groupon, no hidden fees, made it very clear I had to pay an additional $8.25 for the certificate but even with this, the final cost was still cheaper than other places. I bought the smog check on Groupon (saved about $10 or so that way), and then followed the instructions to schedule an appointment later in the week. When I arrived, I pulled in the lot and there was NO wait at all! The entire process took about 15 minutes, from paper work to driving off in my vehicle. I used a Groupon discounted voucher for its service. Reading the negative Groupon reviews, I was afraid to buy the business' Groupon voucher, but with smog checks so expensive, I hesitantly bought the Groupon. Surprisingly, the workers were fast, friendly, and professional, in and out the test bay in ten minutes. The tech was also dog friendly. The taco truck on the premises sold me on reserving a time here. LOL Everything was managed well. I was 2 minutes late for my appointment and already a walk-in took my spot - but that was my fault. It would have taken 15- 20 minutes otherwise. The gentleman doing the testing was professional, easy, certificate managed electronically with the DMV so I didn't even need any paperwork from DMV. I will definitely return for the next time a Smog Certificate is needed. Oh and the tacos from the taco truck were amazing! I may be going back again just for the tacos :-) read more
