Bad customer service. Didn't allow me to use coupon because the worker said I had to show him before he started doing the smog test. Worker had a bad attitude the entire time. If I could give 0 stars I would. I never leave reviews. This is actually my first time leaving a review and it's because I had such a negative experience here. I'd recommend to go somewhere else for a smog test. It should be noted, my vehicle did not pass the test due to having an aftermarket piece that was installed before I purchased the vehicle and without my knowledge. That is not the reasoning behind my negative experience. If the worker had a good attitude and less sarcastic tone and simply advised me of the issue I would've happily been on my way and fixed the issue. read more

I did a quick search around Berkeley for smog and found this place on Yelp. I booked an appointment online within minutes. I showed up to my appointment on time and he was ready for me. It's a one-stall garage behind an auto shop, right off San Pablo across from Mcdonald's. Not the most luxurious spot but for getting a simple smog check every other year, who cares. I was in and out within 10 minutes. $38 OTD, paid with a card. Super quick and easy process. I wish the DMV could be this easy lol. read more

I had a negative experience, but the owner made good on it. I booked online, about an hour in the future. When I arrived I saw a sign "California Smog System Down -- will return tomorrow". The owner had forgotten to block out the rest of the day's reservations. I talked to him that evening, and was tested the next day. With the appointment I did not have to wait, give a coupon, or any hassle. He tested quickly and with competence. All good. read more

Came here to get my smog check with a groupon. The guy working there honored my coupon and explained me to that there was an $8.95 extra charge for a certificate. This is understandable as this is standard with other places as well. In total, my smog check came out to be $22 with the groupon! This is super cheap for a smog check. The customer service was great. This place doesn't try to charge you extra fees and have any hidden costs like other places. They are upfront about their prices and also have a website where you can book an appointment. They aren't shady like other places where they don't honor your coupon or give u different prices when you call them. All in all, I was in and out of there in no time. And I was super happy my car passed which I was worried about. read more

I took my car there today afternoon 10/6/22 for a smog check, on my way there my car AC was working. You may visit the shop a cheap smog test and you never know what other mechanical problems you might leave with. My AC was working when I drove into the shop, and after smog for less than 10 minutes drive to ( Albany High) , my car AC was not blowing cold air, the passenger side glass window was fogging up. Yes, I went back to the smog station, the owner offered to check the car and aslo confirmed my AC was not blowing cold air. I was very upset, he offered to refund the 38 dollars what I paid for the smog, however the smog test was not the issue. What happened to my car AC? When I left the shop Farhan would not even look at me. I believe in Karma. read more

I had a bad experience here. The guy didn't seem to know what he was doing. Moved very slowly, inspecting my car in a way I've never seen at a smog check. After about 20 minutes I told him to stop. The next day I went to Berkeley Smog and was out and done in less than 20 minutes. read more

Excellent work; when I came without an appointment he was free to start working right away. Professional, friendly, and efficient. I made an appointment to have my car smog certified and after getting to this and filling out his paperwork (he also was going to charge more than advertised) I sat down to wait for him to work on my car. Five minutes later, he came and to tell me that he was out of gas so couldn't do the scheduled smog certification! What a waste of time!
